If we'd have kept Buckley that bit longer we'd have got the £2.5m, we sold too early and misjudged his potential etc. etc.

Not good enough for the Prem and always injured. Good luck Sunderland but it's a nice bit of money for us!

Out of nowhere we're suddenly getting an income stream from players that I forgot we even had a stake in.

Looking forward to next week when Yeates gets his £6m move to Everton and we cash in on our 90% sell on clause.

Pozzi should have shown better foresight and held out for 100% in that case.

we had to sell Buckley at the time - it wasn't that we didnt realise the potential.

Makes you think how lucky we are now ....Troy would of gone for 4-5 million otherwise

    Buckley to Sunderland

A fee has now been agreed of £2.5m for Will Buckley from Brighton to Sunderland.

That means Watford will receive £225k from a 15% sell-on. The Bassini legacy still lives on!!

Edit: Sorry just noticed there was another thread for this. Mods please merge.

Ffs why didn't we negotiate a 127% sell on fee?

Don't need to sell our own to raise funds - just wait for one of our ex players to move!

    Isn't a 15% on any profit made?

I'm pretty sure this was a weird one in which we get 15% regardless of the price.

Hopefully. I'm just basing it off the BBC article at the time of the sale to Brighton.

Lots of substantial windfall this summer from Britt, Buckley, Belkalem and maybe Ekstrand.

Gives us some breathing room to bat away Deeney bids.

The Pozzo's should be ashamed letting him leave so cheaply.

This is their Cash for Questions scandal IMO

Quite a tough comment, seeing as it was Bassini that sold him........which makes me think, I hope Brighton have got the club's new account details and not use the one Baz set up!!

Well I stand corrected it was 15% on any profit.

So that makes it £210k roughly.

There is an accent around here where they actually say "bataydah".

Ts in the middle of words is always a d for some reason there...budder, wader

Edited to say I don't know much about the rural WI accent but it can't be far removed from the rural MN and ND accents which make Geordie sound like the Queen's English.
