Decent signing I reckon. Won't take Deeney's nonsense.

18 month deal? The man is going to be 36 in a week!

Brilliant, is someone on a wind up?

He wasn't much good when he was younger. Better than Bellerin? I don't think so.

For verbal leadership, One-size or Nos; for leading by example, Lloyd.

Just the ten centre backs in the squad then....

I'd assume a few are leaving (Brown/Nos on loan?). Bit of an odd signing but it's more experience and knowledge of the English game added to the squad.

We don't have Bellerin anymore. One size is injured. Bit of a strange one though.

Maybe he could be the Kevin Phillips to our Play-Off push..

    Only joking.

Got us trending in the UK though, bit of exposure.

Maybe they want a centre back who is going to yell at people.

Australia qualified for the World Cup didn't they? That may be why.

Ahhhhhhhhhh and he played for West Ham from 2007-2009 when one Gianluca Nani was there, reckon this a friendly deal between the two, Nani offering an old friend some minutes to get him ready for the World Cup.

18 month contract for a man of his age is brave.

Red cards for him and Diakite. Down to 9. FML.

Where do people keep pulling an 18 month deal from?

I thought this was a wind up.

Is Nos injured as well as Hall and Cassetti?

It's until the end of the season, not an 18 month deal.

You're very pessimistic...how can you even entertain the idea of Diakite getting on the pitch? ;)

Yes, but we didn't play Bellerin when we did have him. One-size and Nos aren't always injured at the same time. Anyway, people we sign are always injured when they arrive - it's company policy.

If he needs a club to get into the World Cup squad them presumably we won't have to pay him much, but he'll have wanted reassurances that he was actually going to get some games.

A good move IMHO. One can never have enough backup for the backup's backup's backup.

Would've been a good signing 5 years ago. That's really all you can say.

So it's forbidden to express doubts about Sannino after (now) 14 games..but here's a thread where most people are criticising our newest signing..BEFORE he's even kicked a ball in anger! Priceless!

I'll judge him in May. It may be a bonkers signing, it may be a fruitful one. Either way, welcome to Watford and Good Luck.

This signing amazes me. Looks like Lloyd won't be getting a contract extension as he isn't going to get much more if any playing time this season.

if you're talking about someone getting in the face of refs then I massively agree we need someone like this. Iv never seen a team of players who couldn't care less about the team they play for, no one is getting the the officials face questioning their decisions and making a point. It plays a big part in decisions and shows a bit of passion for the cause. Look at when John Eustace is playing he's up in the refs grill every time!

Tbf that's a good point. However I've been watching the A-League quite a lot since the Wanderers conception. The fact that he only twice for a **** team like Sydney FC (no bias intended, they are actually ****) in a pretty awful league says it all. To top it all off, his contribution wasn't good. If he's been brought in for leadership off the pitch, then fine. Otherwise he will add **** all to this team.

I've decided I like this move. An Australian John Eustace in the middle of the defence. Could mean Cassetti will be used more at wing back now and if it gives Ekstrand a kick up the backside then I'm all for it. We're going nowhere this season and although he's not going to be a long term solution I don't see the problem of trying new players to try and get some organisation in the defence, especially at set pieces. Despite what you think of him he's certainly experienced and with Hall out the defence needs a talker back there.

Apart from when the club have been punished for failing to control their players. Did you not see their reaction for the penalties at Ipswich or Bournemouth? In fact I quite like players not getting in the refs face all game long. Do you really think it makes a difference in our league?

  35. Levon

    Levon Squad Player

For the next game at least, we're without Hall and Ekstrand, and potentially Cassetti and Doyley. This is a signing until the end of the season for that reason, as far as I'm aware. What have we got to lose?
