Murray is a prime example. He's gone from semi-finalist, to finalist, to winner. He's not got faster or stronger, he's just got tougher.

Fantastic final. 3 sets was the one scoreline I couldn't see happening - but the number of momentum swings in that match was incredible.

    Well played Andy Murray.

The best thing about this is that in the top era of tennis, all of the top 4 have now won the Wimbledon title.

Unbelievable! Almost in tears when he won.

Well done Djokovic, amazing fight back in that last game.

Amazing game, both players played fantastically, but I think the effect of the crowd swung things in Murray's favour. Djokovic was visibly shaken when Andy had the momentum and the crowd was going wild.

His attempted fight back in the last game was unbelievable though.

Despite the stoic defence from sue Barker and the BBC commentary team, I think it is now time to rename "Henman Hill", from now on it should surely be ...............

    "Murray's Mound"

In fact had I been there today, I would have tried to get a chant going....."Murray's Mound" clap clap clap "Murray's Mound" etc. etc.

So does this mean that chavs, smart young gents and 90's bands will start wearing clothes made by Andy Murray?

Murray has finally proven himself as a great player. Not just good. Henman was good. Wilfred Tsonga is good. Gustavo Kuerten is good. Great. Murray is a great and the way he beat a fellow great today in a Slam final proved that.

I genuinely believe that right now Andy is the best in the world and will go on the sort of run which Novak went on 2 years ago and bump his major's total up to 4 or 5 which will really seal his name in history.

Fair play to Murray, absolutely 100% deserved it today, played excellently. Djokovic was incredibly disappointing though, didn't really show up.

His first serve was a little ropey compared to usual standards... but i'd say you're being a bit 'arsh.

It was a brutal game of tennis in 40 degrees C. 3 sets should never take over 3 hours to play - but due to both player's never say die attitude, this one did. It was a fantastic game of tennis which required both players to perform to make it what it was. Murray edged it and kept his composure when it mattered most playing some outrageous shots.

That wasn't the Djokovic of the last couple of years. He was absolutely all over the place. So, so many unforced errors.

It's not Murray who irritates me, it's the English people who incessantly cheer him on and support him as if he has anything to with them when the mans Scottish and he CLEARLY couldn't care less about England as a country you total dullards.

I've said earlier how good Murray was yesterday, and this next comment is probably more of a reflection on my lack of tennis knowledge...

...but does anyone have the same ongoing frustration as I do when I am watching him. He just seems soooooo defensive?

I'm not criticising, as I have said, my tennis knowledge is lacking. But as someone who watches tennis a lot, I just find it frustrating, particularly when I see that, when he gets more aggressive, he tends to win the point more often than not.

    Merely an observation Moog!

I wouldn't say he necessarily plays defensively, I'd just say he plays on the baseline as he has powerful ground strokes and when clinical enough the ability to put his opponents in the corners.

    Murray definitely plays conservative tennis.

Even yesterday, Novak was trying much harder to play the lines.
