I think you might be right unfortunately.

 

If we don't get Tommy then I wouldn't mind DJ coming here on loan. He's a decent finisher and is a proven goalscorer at this level and in the premier league. There was talk of Tommy paying half his own wages before though, so would imagine that we would be outpriced on any other loan moves

 

I think I am right in saying that Tommy came off the bench last night for QPR, which would indicate that he may well be part of their 25 man squad. Having said that how many of the new signings were not eligible for selection last night, does anyone know?

Lets assume that at least one of them was not, and if that is the case that person would probably push Tommy off a bench position; which in itself would not necessarily push him out of the 25, but would Tommy be happy being very much an occasional bench sitter, I think he might not be?

Therefore, IMO a cheeky little enquiry for a loan, with possibly the option to buy in the Summer, might be appealing to him and QPR?

 

Zamora wasn't in the squad last night. Also Rob Hulse started with Heidar not even in the squad, surely an injury or is Heidar on his way out somewhere...?

 

Regardless of whether he leaves on loan this season or not, I would expect him to be on his way somewhere in the Summer. With QPR's money, they'll bring in another wave of players at the end of the season, and that'll ultimately force Smith, HH and the likes of Mackie down the pecking order further.

A cheeky Loan enquiry never hurt anyone - Might just be one less headache for Mark Hughes to deal with on a match day!

QPR currently have 11 strikers on their roster. They are:

Zamora, Helguson, Mackie, Bothroyd, Smith, Campbell, CIsse, Macheda, Agyemang, Hulse and Balanta.

That's mad, Smith, Mackie and Campbell are all potential loan targets for me. I do love Helguson, he is a legend. Great scoring record and holds the ball up really well, but just isn't pacey enough IMO. Macheda must feel like crap, just moved from manu on loan and now probably won't feature much

 

Just so you know, Macheda doesn't need to be named in the 25-man squad as he is under 21, I think Balanta just misses out but I might be wrong with the cut off date for 21-year-olds. Just to add that to the discussion...

 

Good shout, Macheda wouldn't have to be registered, but Balanta might have to be.

 

Cardiff appear to want to take him now. I'm sure Mackay just does it in spite.

DJ Campbell would be a good shout, like someone said he is proven at this level and probably feels he has a bit to prove at the moment.

 

The chances of him going to Cardiff are remote, to say the least

 

If Tommy comes back, then I'd actually go and watch his first home game. He probably won't though. FML.

it was always a long shot. QPR need a stronger goal threat, loaning out strikers didnt make sense to that.

Tommy Smith on Loan?

Just heard from a source, that is usually pretty reliable, that we have actually signed Tommy Smith on loan, hope it is true but more chance of signing Tommy Cooper with Baz in charge?

Has anyone else heard this?

I dont claim to be "in the know" but he seemed pretty certain and thought it was general knowledge?

Smith was announced the QPR's 25 man squad yesterday. Hughes came out saying quite clearly none of these players will be loaned out. It's not going to happen, unfortunately.

I've had a good laugh over the last few days reading Watford fans urging us to sign Helguson and Smith... both players are involved in the first team squad at QPR and both are on over £20k! No chance.

 

from a qpr source if they stay up then both smithy will be moved on in the summer, helguson will be allowed to see out his contract (until summer 2013) with the club.

would hope we would go in for smithy if he were available.

hehe im not sure it would really matter for tommy now. he is past the stage where he could start week in week out in the premiership, surely he would much rather look to spending time at a club where he could see out his career?

 

randomly saw him in the regal in berkhamsted last night.

 

When we met him for the legends interview we met him in the Old Mill, it was nice in there and he said he goes there quite often as the food is good as well. To be fair though most of the pubs in Berko are ok.
