We seem to be under attack at the moment from the spammers. Activity has increased tenfold over the past 2 days. This won't affect the forum as we have to manually give the OK to every registration before letting them through, but it is becoming a pain to go through so many. What we have in place is something called "human verification", which is basically a question that we ask to catch out the automatic spam things that register on forums. One of our questions might be, "what colour is the sky?". Unfortunately many of these spam bots are ridiculously clever and can answer questions like these. So my request is to come up with questions that a robot will never be able to answer, yet a human would. Remember that not everyone who wants to join supports Watford, so questions about academy players and ex managers are out. The best one gets a billion 'orns.
Would it be possible to have a picture of something simple appear, and then the question is what is it a picture of?
What was the name of Batman's sidekick? - Robin What do fat dogs do? - Fart What colour is a london taxi? - Black What item of cutlery is most efficient for eating soup? - Spoon
Different keyboard layouts in different countries Easy is better Non WFC fans won't know this Unfortunately not Dunno?? If you have to assume something then they WILL get the question wrong. It's tough isn't it?
What colour road did Dorothy travel on to get to the Wizard of Oz. What did you need to get inside Willy Wonka's Chocolate factory. How many Dwarves did Sleeping Beauty have.
Too easy for these bots. Again too easy. All way too easy. I'm sure there are some out there who would seriously struggle with that! Plus the answer really shouldn't be part of the question, these programs are very clever.
rearrange the letters of the football club this forum is associated with into alphabetical order? A bit of thinking involved...
State the opposite to the word .... Then you could do, professional, or remember or something like that.
Could spelling the question in text speak or short hand confuse the bots? I guess they search for the answer on google or something, so you could make life harder that way. Glad it not just GH that gets a hammering from the spammers
I think it would confuse some people, but it got me thinking about a question asking how many legs would 3 horses and a footballer have, or how many wheels on a reliant robin? Hornmeister's cutlery question is the best so far. We've had loads of spammers register today, so I've dumped every question and have just got 2 sitting new ones sitting there right now. If spammers get through then I'll have to revise them for questions from this thread.
Are they definite robotic spammers or are our friends from up the M1 trying to get revenge for invading their forum?
