41 games to go, 123 points to play for...
We have 10 new players, a new owner, a new manager, new staff, new improvements to the Vic, 2 ENGLAND goalscorers in 2 days from a great Academy and before long - a new pitch, new Red Lion, new SW corner, new East Stand ...

LETS GET BEHIND OUR BELOVED 'ORNS WITH A NEW CHANT FOR ALL FANS - YOUNG, OLD, ALL SIDES OF THE GROUND (Sic) ..

Based on Philadelphia Eagles - Visit 28 seconds in on YouTube 'Philadelphia Eagles Fight Song ...

    www.youtube.com/watch?v=f0-_Ed2WPUA

    Instead of " E - A- G - L - E - S EAGLES "

    " W - A - T - F - O,R,D WATFORD" 'Clap' 'Clap' :sign15:

Repeated and repeated so even Rous Stand veterans join in ...

(the "O,R,D" quickly together with no gap )

This is memorable, simple, easy, effective and better than the old "Waaatford, clap clap clap, Waaatford clap clap clap"

Get a drum banging out each letter WE CAN GET A REAL ATMOSPHERE GOING ..

Lets get behind the team.... COYH

The W ruins everything, the quick ord feels desperate and embarrassing. And for those reasons, I like it.

Thats just plain crap - unless you are going to add the catchy "fly hornets fly" or even "Buzz Hornets Buzz". In fact don't bother its all ****.

NO, NOT THE CRAPPY SONG, - I didn't explain - FROM 28 seconds in on the YouTube, the last 7 seconds, just the chant

    "W - A - T - F - o,r,d, WATFORD" followed by 2 claps, repeated.

Just needs the Rookery to get it going ...

Good first thread there btw. Carry on like that and you'll be in line to take the crown of 'biggest legend on WFC forums' off of me.

I think that will be a tad too tricky for the Rous mob to get their heads around. You gotta remember, it took 'em five years to grasp ' yellow army ' clap-clap-clap. I personally like it but I can't invest in it. For that reason..I'm out.:naughty:

I realise it's the bit at the end, not the song. I was saying that the only thing half decent was the crappy tune. The clapping bit does not go due to as someone has pointed out - the pronounciation of the W. Its pants. Forget it.

I'm not a fan of it, but I hope the Y.O. at least give it a try. It might grow on us.

Passion comes from within, not from some half arsed song designed to breed it.

    That is all.

    I disagree with you Nas.

90% of the "passionate" fans around the country get by with just one song which they all know the words to.

Makes it easy to rope in followers and stragglers to sing their song, which they all wear like a badge of honour.

See Millwall, "No One Likes Us"
    Brum "Keep Right On"
Crystal Palace - that song they stole from us

I just like the idea of us having our own song, stoke sing delilah which makes no sense but it sounds good.

Why not. You don't have to change the lyrics. Lots of teams sing songs which are unique to them but don't mention the club. Stoke - Deliah, Bristol Rovers - Goodnight Irene, Liverpool - You'll never get a job.

I suggest Saturday Nights Alright for Fighting. Heard it on the radio today and I thought it would be good. 1st verse and chorus please.

Whilst it may be a catchy song I don't think the lyrics will be appropriate for us as a family club.

    Agreed.

But it keeps coming up as it probably feels right.

The only way it'd work would be a short bit from a song people know, with Watford bits squeezed in somehow.

    For that reason id suggest:

And you can tell everybody this is your song
It may be quite simple but now that it's done
    I hope you don't mind
I hope you don't mind that I put down in words
How wonderful Watford is, the best team in the world
