Graham bids been rejected, Brighton can eff right off with that paltry fee. He's easily worth about a million in todays climate.
Indeed. Frankly if they'd managed to somehow think that that was a good bid and let him go I would've thrown my season ticket back at them.
For a player who is young, clearly has a lot of ability, and can change games when he's in good form, £500,000 is pathetic. I can accept Graham going if a bid comes in high enough, but if we're thinking of letting go of our best young assets, when we're relying on our youth heavily enough as it is anyway, that's a derisory amount.
I seriously believe Buckley has enough potential to be worth in excess of 2 million with another season behind him. Not worth us selling him unless the amount reflects his potential.
Definitely not worth selling at that amount. We'd see a £200k profit (give or take) over a player who has been quite useful for us in his 43 appearances, especially given the potential the lad's got.
He is similar to players like Sordell in the respect that he could easily have a great start to the season and attract some big offers. I can see them both being worth up to at least £3 million each in the future if they fulfill the potential that they have been showing lately.
http://www.footballforums.net/forums/showthread.php/274833-Will-Buckley-Watford Brighton fans on here slagging off Watford and saying that joining Brighton would be a forward step for Buckley
Forgot that Stephenson had joined Brighton, he was behind the signing of Buckley here wasn't he? Explains a lot. Also, they're reportedly signing Hoskins too for £500K, wouldn't be a bad signing imo, I think he'll do well there.
Buckley has the pace but just needs to be more consistent and not fall over so much. Mind you the so called best English wingers in the country tend to be as hit and miss.
What an arrogant up their own arse set of supporters, really getting way too ahead of themselves. Although it's unlikely, would love them to struggle and go back down to where they came from, good to see Forest and West Brom fans defending us. Thank god our fans arn't like that, i'd take pessimistic and melodramatic over pure ignorance any day.
We've spent all but one season of the last twenty years in the second tier - with two forays into the Premiership. Brighton have spent how many of the last twenty in the second tier? Three seasons maybe? They have ideas way above their station. I don't mind Brighton and I think they are a decent club but reading that thread their fans need a reality check. They might be new-money, but they aren't a big club.
Funny what a new stadium can do to a set of supporters. I bet they weren't giving it large when they were playing on an athletics field. When was the last time they were in the top flight of English football and competed in Europe?
That was an enjoyable use of 15 minutes reading that forum. To use a term from The Inbetweeners, that thread screams 3 things: Ooh, Bloom friend, Poyet friend, New Stadium & Season ticket Friends. Some of the absolute rubbish they were coming out with...
Utterly derisory offer and shame on Stephenson for trying to pinch the players he recommended to Malky. I sincerely hope they get relegated pronto with Palace doing the double over them to boot. They haven't got a clue. Hope WHU come in for Poyet as well.....
Brighton have a stadium and money, but this does not automatically convert into footballing success. They are an interesting proposition for a youngster with talent, if and only if they can consolidate a solid position in the championship. Even they have a reasonable start next season I can see them getting some good players in when the window opens, but to move to them now is risky.
one of your many problems Moogy is that you are always hungry - i take it the arms are protein - If so, i'll join you for a bbq - this transaction would of course be at 'arms length'.
I would have taken it to be honest. Outstanding against Cardiff and that was the end of his season. Hope they come back with another higher bid near the million mark.
If you really want to know what Brighton fans are thinking concerning the bid for your lad you would be better off going to northstandchat.com which actually has a few members (10 thousand at the last count) I think the site you have visited is rarely taken seriously on Albion matters. I came on here to see if you rated the boy because I`d never heard of him before but then again we are a league 1 side really and we dont check out the giddy heights of the Championship very often unless its one of the big teams in that league.
