My prediction is for both Labour and Tories to do better than polling suggests - I feel a lot of people will make it as far as the polling booth before deciding they still can't quite bring themselves to vote Lib Dem. I reckon hung parliament, Tories the largest party and largest vote but a Lab/Lib coalition with Brown gone within the week in government. I can't see anyone getting a majority of 20 or 30...this time around the public want to punish all the parties.

Gut feel says much depends on the young and female vote.....if my office replicates the country, they are the ones that are undecided but leaning towards Lib Dems but also the one's that historically don't get round to voting. I hope it stays that way and Tories get in with a landslide.....

You could be right there. The Libs have said they won't work with Brown in charge, the problem is who replaces him?

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/shared/spl/hi/guides/456900/456937/html/

I can't see The Liberals wanting any of this lot and I can't see Labour wanting Clegg in charge. Vince Cable is probably the only realistic option, he's ex-labour but critical of their economic policy.

If it's a Lab/Lib coalition it'll be Labour party leader as PM. Nick Clegg apparently wants the role of Leader of the House as this would enable him to run the campaign to reform the voting system and control the parliamentary time given to it by the government.

Nigel Farrage of UKIP has been in a plane crash already this morning in Northants. The pilot had to be cut out of the light aircraft...it was towing a UKIP banner :forehead:

I know its going off the subject and correct me if i'm being blonde, but, if the BNP's feel that Britain's are the minority in most of the country, then surely if this is the case the 'ethnic majority' obviously wont vote for them, hence they wont win.:forehead:

Feel free to pick holes in this theory ;)

    In effect legalising cannabis.

I know of one person who died and one who was injured so badly in a car crash that a promising football career was wrecked, because the driver was high.

I have had one person who worked for me who regularly partook. It caused paranoia and made him withdrawn from the rest of the team. Problems escalated to such an extent that he was unable to work and his continued refusals of help meant he was fired.

No-one is going to convince me that legalising cannabis is a good idea and I certainly wouldn't support a party with this policy.

Any credibility you had earned with well structure debate has been scotched in one fell swoop.

But surely more people have had their lives ruined by alcohol than by weed? Drunk drivers are much more dangerous than high drivers imho.

I support a legalisation of weeds under certain circumstances.

    Only legal for over 18s
Highly taxed with proceeds going towards education and detox programmes
    Some sort of quota system

In Denmark legalising it would mean a drop in crime, it would mean that young people will not have to socialise with drugs dealers who also sell hard drugs. And the tax money would be helpful too.

Maybe as a gross total, but as a percentage against the total number of heavy users? I know lots of people that drink a lot and none of them have had such problems. Maybe I'm just lucky/unlucky depending on how you look at it but those are my personal reasons for being against.

That's an argument for prohibition, not legalisation of another destructive drug.

Prohibition would accelerate crimes related. Legalisation would decrease crime. Prohibition would have to cover all drugs including alcohol, caffeine etc.

Caffeine is rumoured to be more dangerous than the other two

Education about cannabis along with a serving policy and taxation would be the best solution imho.

Why does prohibition have to cover all drugs including caffeine? That's just *******s.

Banning drinking and smoking would be good for the country in my opinion. Also we should adopt Sharia law.

IMHO it is hypocritical banning some drugs but having others more dangerous legalised.

Are you not capable of analysing things on their own merits? Because guns are banned, should we ban catapults and pea shooters too, because they are weapons?

    Get some perspective man.

Yes - ban peashooters too but I don't see the relevance?

What you call on it's own merit I call out of context.

Currently it is like having a max sentence of 1 year for murder and 10 years for disturbing the peace. Inconsistency at best.

There has never been a death due to cannabis. millions die worldwide from alcohol.
the taxation would bring millions to the economy. and there are no health problems with smoking it except for surfacing underlying schizophrenia. think of the thousands of domestic abuse crimes due to alcohol.
Hornmeister watch a film called 'The Union' then re-join this debate a more educated person....

I've made my choice based on personal experience. I don't condemn those who use, I don't consider myself more knowledgeable than over 95% of the developed countries laws.

I can't bring myself to support those who campaign to legalise it, but I support their right to believe it as should those support my right to be against it.
