I remember he scored a cracker against Cambridge but never really impressed in the Reserves.

I remember a few people on the official message board who were very angry that he wasn't being given/given more first-team opportunities, because "the one time he played for us, he scored".

Unfortunately I can't remember exactly who these silly-billys were.

Yeah i remember back then (not me btw)... to be fair though we were badly struggling and had a very thin squad at the time... Ferrell back then was a bit like Rinaldi, cavalli (to a lesser extent) and maybe a couple of others in that unless you'd seen some reserve games for yourself (which is unlikely) you'd kinda wonder whether the guys stuck in the stiffs could do a better job than the guys in the 1st team losing every week!

Scored twice, against Cambridge at home and Reading away, last seen drinking beer on the street after we played Newcastle.

ray didn't give many young players a chance as he disliked playing anyone under the age of 28.....

I'm sure it was him who smashed a ball into the face of a young kid in front of me in a warm up at Reading. He then with his very next kick nearly took my old mans head off with a miss placed shot. AC came up into the crowed and took the kid down to the pitch for a little kick around with the players Ferrell never even said sorry. Never liked him after that in fact don't think i saw him play after that.

    Well I don't think so...

I was the one of those who said he was rubbish/not very consistent for the Reserves and was not impressing as my earlier comment said.

Mind you I maybe said he should get a chance during one of our bad runs when the current team at the time were not performing.

I'll let you off..there were so many people on that site it ws rather confusing!

I'll own up I was one of those wanting him to get a game the 2 first team outings I saw him in he looked good, and as a previous poster said the team Lewington was putting out were losing every week so I thought, even if he didn't turn out any better he could be no worse.

Just to put it in context and to stop some of the smug people gloating, there were people on here crying out for Priskin to start on the back of one second half performance (ok that was me as well) and he's not done anything much since.

i would be suprised if people didn't want to give him a chance. at that point in the season absolutely anyone should of been used to replace the incumbent players

He seemed like a really good character, typical geordie. All you could hear throughout home games was his loud mouth from the substitutes bench encouraging the team on. Shame he didn't get enough chances.

He was at the Newcastle game earlier on in the season, last seen staggering through Watford High Street with a bottle of beer in his hand
