Zola's squad too big - who will leave?

I will be seriously, seriously p*ssed off if we get rid of Eustace.

 

But if Eustace is true i'll cry and support new era baadiff

 

I wouldn't panick yet, and there's cerainly no offer on the table, it's just something I heard from a former player.

Its not something I neccersily believe myself, just thought I'd mention it as it was on topic, Eustace has been very close to leaving before, as recently as last summer, let's just wait and see.

 

Was the players you heard on the bench as well as pitch today?

 

Eustace is a fantastic leader and example, and a competent footballer at this level. Even if he's now considered only a back up player he's still more than worth having around the club for his experience, leadership and professionalism.

 

On another note please, please can we get rid of Forsyth, he is utterly abysmal. Garner and Iwelumo can go too.

 

The only player that would truly suprise me leaving at this stage of his career would be Murray.

 

I would be inconsolable if Doyley or Eustace left.

 

Got a feeling nosworthy could be another. Give us names on who will join!

 

Can't see any benefit in letting Eustace go.

 

I wouldn't be too bothered if Garner, emu, Yeates, Forsyth, Jenkins and Massey left. If Eustace/Doyley left I'd be gutted.

 

New captain if Eustace leaves, IMO would be Tiny? Who else could it be other than Nos or maybe Fitz-Hall

Depending on whether or not Zola thinks he's suitable for it (commanding/old enough etc), he would be a pretty good choice in my eyes. Almost a guaranteed starter and, even if we get promoted, likely to be in the team for quite a few years.

 

Too much of a loose cannon.

 

Captain will have to be the most experienced I believe tiny would be the best bet, been here a long time and has good experience

 

I'd prefer if we gave the role to one of our own, rather than developing another club's player.

 

It's not just about who's been here the longest/who's the oldest/who's played the most games. Taylor isn't particularly vocal or a great motivator, a good professional and an experienced player yes, but a leader? No.

Eustace needs to stay. He's a fantastic leader and a great example to the younger players, and in a time when there's a lot of change at the club, it would be a good idea to keep someone like Eustace around.

 

Almunia would be a good prospect for captain, he was very vocal yesterday and has vast experience

 

This is just speculation eustace is still our player so until it changes I'm supporting 120%

Any upset over most of the current squad leaving would be purely sentimental. Seriously I'd only be gutted to see Murray leave in this window. When people talk about Eustace and Taylor etc you are thinking about how needed they were in our previous state.....no money and fighting / scraping to be a mid-table team. We may not do any better this year due to various reasons but look at the type of player coming in to us, and even if most of these ones flop there is a whole load more being lined up by the Pozzos and their scouting network. They don't want a mid-table side you walk away from a match saying "well they gave 110% even though we were held 0-0 by Barnsley, the work rate was great and some solid tackles"

Be interested to see who does go, but cant see myself feeling down about it (Murray aside)
