So in today's Watford Observer there was an article in the back where Zola said that the squad is too big and there will be more players leaving(all according to my Dad as I haven't seen it).

Who are the players that you think will be leaving the squad?

Do you mean people like Massey and Whichelow?

Ross Jenkins, Forsyth, Iwelumo in the short term. Eustace, ****inson and Doyley eventually. I would of said Garner and Yeates, but that will be come January when Zola has actually had to play them in the Championship.

Iwelumo, Forsyth, Bennett, Buaben and possibly Whichelow.

Doyley, Bennett, ****inson, Jenkins, Yeates, Iwelumo, Whichelow are probably the main candidates to be let go. It's unlikely Doyley will go this summer, I'd have thought, with it being his testimonial and the Pozzos presumably wanting to keep fans onside which they're not going to do with the majority by letting Lloyd go.

I'd say Forsyth will stay for another season, too, to see if Zola can find out where he should be playing - he could be decent if he became a master of one position instead of a jack of all

Reckon Eustace will stay, too, purely for the experience until some of the newer players get used to English football.

Going by pre-season, I actually think Garner and Mingoia - both of whom I thought would go this summer - could go on to have decent seasons. Make or break for them both though, as with Forsyth.

Hopefully Forsyth goes! Unlike most fans i hope Iwelumo stays, he had a good end to the season however he doesn't fit in with the style of football we are trying to play. ****inson, Bennet, and jenkins will probably go, but i think yeates and mingoia will stay along with garner and Whichelow. Eustace and Doyley will also both stay.

I want Big Chris to stay too, mostly because he is one of the most community-active players we have

Not sure why everyone thinks Yeates is leaving. He seems a large part of Zola's plans if preseason is anything to go by. Also, can everyone stop saying how **** he is now, he got the most assists last season.

    How many assists was that?

I don't understand why people say to not let him near a free kick, he scored one against Reading didn't he

When you look at the squad it contains 35 players. Of those 35, there are quite a few players which would be considered development players such as Bonham, Hoban, Tumwa, Smith & Hamilton-Forbes.

That leaves 30 players. Seeing as you need 18 for a matchday squad, I wouldn't consider 30 top heavy.

I would say those most at risk to go would be Forsyth, Yeates, Jenkins, Garner, Iwelumo, Buaben and of course Deeney. Funnily enough they are most of Dyche's early signings. I would also put ****o on this list but we do not have a backup left back and he's stilll got 2 years left on his contract.

You lot do realise we have an u21 team to field... But I agree for Jenkins sake to get his career back on track he will have to go... Iwelumo due to his high wages... Forsyth due to him playing in a position which doesn't suit him and his lack of ability other then shooting... Bauben should go on loan I think just to get some regular football, I do rate him highly and he wouldn't be selected for Ghana squad if he was rubbish... Doyley should go in the next season... McGinn should go on loan to get fitness and regular football again... Lastly I think Whichelow should not go full stop, He is a great goal scorer and has a physical presence he can run with the ball as well as being young and got an ability to pass the most promising youngster we have I believe just needs to sort his attitude out...

    Whichelow, a physical presence?

If Doyley goes then I will be extremely disappointed. He's not the kind of player to be on ridiculous wages as a reliable defender

Doyley won't be going in this or the next window I wouldn't imagine, but I do think this will be his last season at the club.

Well not quite a physical presence but he is more mobile and bigger built then say mingoia and to a point Murray...

Also I'd be disappointed if Buaben was let go, he's definitely got potential, just seems to struggle with his fitness.

The U-21 side is going to be a bit of a joke for us.

Its going to be counterproductive putting the likes of Whichelow, Massey, Thompson, Smith, Asombalonga, Hoban etc. in the side because they've already played at senior level. We're going to end up putting a U-18 side in the U-21 side, so god knows what sort of age group will be in the U-18's!

I think the players that will most likely be asked to leave are Iwelumo, simply because I think Zola's system will require a lot of work from the main striker, and he's not mobile enough to cope. Jenkins in nearly 22, and I don't think he's going to find first team football any easier to come by than last season. Bennett for the same reasons. Buaben is possibly under more pressure than McGinn, as Zola obviously rates McGinn highly.

Of the younger players, Massey and Whichelow are possibly under some scrutiny given they played against St Albans, and not against Barnet. Again, wouldn't be surprised to see those two moved on. Hopefully the other younger pro's are given a chance on loan, because as I said, the U-21 league is still kids football

Move Forsyth off the left wing, and put him up front, he has a cracking shot on him and is good with his head I don't see how nobody else sees this.

It's just just about being able to strike a ball well and being tall though is it?

What about the technique, dribbling, his composure, his pace/strength (he has neither), what about his vision and positioning as an attacker, his prowess.

On the rare occasions he floats in to the back post to get to crosses, he's shown he's a poor poacher and can't take advantage of situations by either standing a foot away or jumping too early/late.

He can't dribble the ball, he has no pace to beat a man and has no strength really to shield it like a striker, his technique isn't all that great.

If he's going to be anything, it will be a winger, but he needs development.

This "hes tall and can hit the ball, so he's a striker!" rubbish is nonsense! There are defenders that given half the chance can smash the ball in the corner, and they're probably tall too, doesn't mean they should be strikers.

Better then Iwelumo and what I have seen of Garner Last season
