Good blog post. On the face of it, seems to be 100% spot on so far.

Hope he's wrong, but it's difficult to see how he is right now.

Written by a West Ham with a hatred of Zola, Nani & Duxbury. Has an agenda of highlighting negatives only, so I will take his bitter and twisted view with the contempt it deserves.

Blimey I know West Ham fans have a habit of over-reacting each week but whats all this about the wheels have fallen off?

Its one game we lost 5-1...not 5 in a row.

All the guy who has written this has done is state facts.

If you take it as a negative attack on Nani and Duxbury then that says it all.

i think he could have a point did Nani and Duxbury want Zola because they know he can be lead and is it the pozzo`s club or the Nani and Duxbury show....
when we got beat i thought its same old watford one week great the next week not and with all the new players and so on it had to happen and i bet before the end of the season we will get beat by another 5 goals
what worries me is Zola saying after the game he did not want Taylor to go he wanted Taylor to stay at the club then said`s it`s not up to him who stay`s or goes..
now he saying the squad is to big and that is not right he does not want that many....i think Zola needs to grow some big time...its going to happen every time we lose Zola coming out and saying i need not bring the players in so its not my fault..i could not see most of the top managers standing for that lol spurs have always done it but not so much under Harry and they had the best time now its back to the chairman buying and they have started of crap....
Its not the Pozzo`s that will rip the soul out of Watford it`s Nani and Duxbury

    Everything he said is true.

The only thing he didn't say was it is better than being liquidated, which is the underlying positive that wasn't present at West Ham. Otherwise it is impossible to disagree with him. Key players sold against the will of the manager for peanuts, giant squad of unknown foreign players to replace them. It wasn't a recipe for success there for sure.

That said the other key difference is that we aren't picking up any of the wages - they are literally free players in every way. So even if it fails on the pitch we won't get into the financial mess West Ham did.

Didn't say anything that isn't true though - even if the title doesn't make any sense. "Zola out of control at Watford": article about Zola being hamstrung by Nani and Duxbury ???

Why is a WEST HAM fan so interested in what we are doing, is this guy living in the past with the biggest chip in the world on his shoulder?

Worth remembering that the difference between that time at west ham and the current set up with us is the Pozzos. If it goes sh!t shaped under Duxberry and Nani the Pozzos can get rid.

On that 'site' of his, every article about us unsurprisingly pops up after something bad happens, i.e. a defeat or the academy news. There's nothing about us playing Birmingham off the park, or a late comeback vs Palace etc.

    He's a pleb.

I thought The Pozzo family owned the club not Nani and Duxbury! If they can't do their job which a few seem to think is the case then they'll get rid of them like they do with the managers. All this pillock of a West Ham has done is wake up the doom mongers again. We have a few too many signings but Zola has asked for players in specific areas and they have sent more than one to choose from in each position. That sounds like a decent plan to me. With regards to what Pot Guy says that players were sold for peanuts and he had no choices. Loach. I don't believe Zola wanted him and wanted a more experienced goalkeeper which is what we got. He also got the chance to go and play for the team he supported. We didn't get much for him because he wasn't worth very much. Zola didn't want Mariappa or Taylor to leave. That happens to every manager in the world. Do you thing Fergie wanted to sell Ronaldo or did Wenger want to sell RVP. No, but the player wanted to leave so where's the point in keeping a player that wants to leave. We got decent money for Mariappa and not sure what we got for Taylor but he is 33 years old with less than a year left so any money is better than none. So far this season we've got six points from 12 yet the way some are talking it's as if it's Christmas and we've still only got six points. Last thing to remember is that West Ham seem to think that they're a much bigger club than they actually are. It amazes me that considering the debt they were in that they are spending ridiculous amounts of money again. I'm really not interested in what some vindictive West Ham fan thinks about my club and why he is even interested.
The squad needed an overhaul due to the way we are going to play so it's always going to take a little bit of time for things to settle down but I'm sure it will be fine and soon we can forget blogs like this

  20. SSDD - same 5hit different day

Some people are absolutely determined not to enjoy this event of this summer. Its a shame because from within our squad Zola now has the players to assemble a terrific Watford team, probably amongst the best we have ever seen, and I want every true Watford fan to experience it and enjoy it as much as I intend to. Big group hug.....

Why are people taking this line?
I think its perfectly understandable why some West Ham followers would be interested in whats happening down at Vicarage Road.

It wasnt so long ago that they had the near same set up and think about it.. if Laurence Bassini were to buy another football club would you not be interested in finding out what he was up to? and when a manager leaves the club do you not follow his progress elsewhere? (hell.. some Watford fans seem to follow Malky's movements more than they do our own manager!)

You can knock this blogger for being negative towards our predicament.. but you can hardly blame him for being interested in it in the first place.

My biggest concern is that Zola has made it clear that the style of play he wants is non-negotiable. So, if teams follow Derby's example and don't allow us time on the ball then unless we have REALLY talented defenders & midfield we'll ship a ton of goals.

The other big concern is that if the commentary on the Derby game was accurate the players were blaming each other - that is a very bad sign

What the feck was wrong with it - an excellent blog and very informative of his viewed similarities. Is he warning wfc canuts about zola or the other two?

His final part of the blog - "Watford fans will probably react negatively to this thread, but West Ham fans reacted in the same way when I warned what would happen as Nani and Duxbury took a strangle hold at Upton Park. "

makes a change reading something sensible compared to the carp posted on the forum much of the time..

The only thing that worries me is our youth system, and will we see talented players not given the chance and just shipped out on loan or given away for peanuts.Britt is doing well and scoring goals which can only be good.I don't want us to let players go that have raw talent. One player who I thought would have a big future was Robinson and he is banging in goals, some players need that chance, same as Young got his chance then blossomed into a cracking player. There is no better feeling seeing one of our own come through and end up being a huge talent in our 1st team.

IS IT NOT BETTER TO SHIP THE YOUNGSTERS OUT ON LOAN, IF THEY CAN CUT IT AT LEAGUE one and two they may be able to step up as they gain more experience. They will also create some value if they do well and the men in charge want rid off, they can likely get a nominal fee for them...

everything at wfc is perfect - if they beat bolton on saturday i funk i will support them again..

Shipping the players out on loan is not my point,my point is that if we have players like the Murrays and others waiting in the wings will they get a chance in our 1st team,as the team will be near on all perm loan deals, and possibly be overlooked.I have no problem with our players out on loan,it helps there education, but will our youth system collapse and become non-existant due to the amount of players we can bring in.Would Nani etc have taken the time to actually look at players and think well we don't need to bring this player in as this player is better,or is it just bring in as many as we can without much thought and for the sake of it?

  32. PaddingtonsYellowArmy

    PaddingtonsYellowArmy First Team Captain

simples - the players like Murray don't get shipped out on loan, they play as part of the first team squad. Players like Murray are few and far between but the average players wfc have used like the Dom Blizzard, Joel Grant, and would not Lee Hodson be a perfect example -went out on loan did pretty well and they sussed he could be championship quality.

What percentage of the academy wanabee's ( up da brentford) actually make it to premeiershyte and even championshyte level to the extent of playing the est of their careers at that level?

Personally i don't think sending these players out on loan from the academy is a bad thing at all - good for the player and good for the club.

Fecking around with poxy reserve matches at boringwood is all well and good but feck it, let asombalonganameyoucouldnthave score goals a plenty for Suffend - whats he worth now compared to the start of season? Would that sum be as much if he festered with the adams family playing kick about in the cemetry of boringwood?

All decisons are great thus far, may even pop down for a match at the vic i is getting a tingling feeling, moogy feck off tickling me neck you woofter.
