You're not alone. Reports are coming in of sporadic riots and looting in West Watford as what was originally a peaceful protest against Dyche's sacking has spilled over into civil unrest

Are you a Watford fan? Whoever the manager is, as long as he's the manager of Watford then I will support him because he manages our club. We can all view our opinions if we go through a bad patch after the manager has settled in but to not support a new manager who has a not done anything wrong for the club (and obviously no good) would be ridiculous. I can understand your frustrations on Dyche not staying on as manager but to not support the new manager would be silly in my opinion.

Has anyone mentioned whether SD would actually want to keep the job (if so, I apologise). He would have little or no say regarding transfers, would be more closely scrutinised (sp?) with upper management breathing down his back and would have to adopt a style of football that he has probably only ever seen on TV.

TBF I do remember Dyche himself got a fair bit of stick early on in the season..infact had these guys coming in last December I suspect people would not be so annoyed.

Mind you I am disappointed in the sense he is being replaced by a guy without much experience of this level and I think they could have worked together maybe?

Sharia4Watford has organised a fans' protest, starting in Durban Road and finishing at Zak's Piri Piri.

If SD goes he will step into a job, when the first lot of sacking come late October/early November, thats if he hasn't got himself a job by then, he is highly thought of because people outside Watford realise what he did on a showstring last season

Everybody seems to be throwing assumptions and opinions left, right and centre. At least this an opinion that hasn't really been spoken about. Whatever happens, im sure we will all get behind the club whoever the manager.

To be honest, loads of assumptions get thrown about on here by people in an effort to back their point up so it's not just you. It was just that yours stood out to me!

I feel for Dyche in all honesty, he had done nothing wrong and had done a good job. I will say that Sean had a good idea that Zola would be coming in a few months ago and so may well be sorted out already for the future. He will get a nice payoff and goes away from Watford with his reputation intact. There are not many managers out there who have left their last club with their reputation higher than when it started, even Redknapp. He can look at how Hughton has managed to further his career after getting the bullet and I will be pleased for Sean when he gets a new job.

I'm torn. Zola was one of those players I grew up with and idolised and It's nice to have such an amazing person at our football club. It's just a massive shame it's come during Dyche's reign.

Exactly. Because Dyche wouldn't have been their first choice, they would've expected more from him. Also if I was Dyche, I wouldn't have wanted to stay if I knew Zola was pretty much waiting in the background for the job.

There were a lot of people against the appointment of Dyche last year, who's to say Zola won't win the fans over like Dyche did? The guy needs to be given a chance even if you aren't totally happy about it. At the end of the day, Zola is a good manager. He knows his stuff, knows English football & I think he'll do well with us.

I think you possibly have got virtually everything right with what you say above, with one important caveat!!!

Maybe they did offer him something like you have suggested, and instead of turning it down he has accepted that post and Zola is the person they are bringing in for the other post with the title of "Manager", whilst SD gets the new title of "Head Coach"

Obviously nothing is set in stone, but if the owners have decided to change the manager without considering Dyche's achievements and talking to him about his role, I would be really disappointed, and disappointed for him. H

owever, I'm excited about the Zola link because he is meant to be a very good, technical coach who could improve our young players. I also think this situation should be judged on its own merit, yes Zola didn't set West Ham alight, but football is full of good managers having poor spells.

I just hope he and his team will have done a whole lot of research on the championship and not be naive enough to believe that flair players from europe and further afield will come in, settle and being allowed to play football at the pace they would be used to.

    Spot on JRW1979.

I can't believe some fans attitude already to this takeover, and how ungrateful some fans seem. FFS for once we are not going to be balancing on the precipice of administration. We probably won't be scrapping for relegation, and we might be able to sign players other than jocks and lower league journeymen. We will get a new stand, and the ground finished off. Unfortunately Dyche looks like he is going to be a casualty in this, but he will be paid off and snapped up.
The Pozzo's will no doubt invest a substantial amount of money into the club, and that gives them the right to appoint who the hell they like. Zola did a decent job with a weak squad at West Ham. I think he will do well here. He is not a flash harry like Vialli was. Disappointing for Dyche, but good for the club, and that is something I can live with.

Dimatteo is another prime example, did nothing at West Brom and the failed to win a jot at Chelsea.......... Oh hang in a minute! Can't judge Zola on Wet Spam days as different owners, different resources, different set up all together! Zola will get my backing, shame about Dyche who has done well, but new owners have their own ideas as how to succeed and are within their rights to do what they think is best!

Well, I would have preferred Dyche to remain in charge as I feel he deserved at least a shot at managing with some stronger financial backing, I'm sure he would've liked the chance too. But as many have said, he'll walk into another championship club and they'll have a real asset. With the new owners I guess it's their right to call the shots, if they wanted Zola in charge they might as well do it now instead of waiting for a run of 4 straight defeats before sending Sean the P45. Having a name like Zola will hopefully also attract a higher calibre of player, and might help ease the transition of a few Italian loan players.

Again, I would've preferred Sean but he'll come out of this just fine I reckon, I'll give my full backing to Zola if/when it happens.

    Thank *****!
I was sick and tired of the club lurching, stammering, and stumbling from one financial disaster into another, always teetering on the verge of administration, never having any money, always buying basement quality players, and selling off the decent ones we produced or improved. At last we have some money in the bank, and some ambition to not only sort ourselves out, but to progress and build on some pretty decent grass roots at the club. New money, new manager, new players, and some brand new ambition sounds like a dream come true, and if it fails, so what, we will be no worse off than we are now, will have to sell all our good players, buy rubbish, and go back to lurching from one financial problem to another trying to avoid administration. On the other hand, we could end up back in the Premier!

Whatever happens, we are going on another journey!!

We have a new owner who from the sounds of it has stopped us going in to administration. They decide to bring in a manager or head coach that they believe is the right man to make Watford as successfull as possible and make Watford an attractive proposition for transfer targets and that man is Zola. The only similarity between him and Vialli is that he's Italian so to bang on about this is pointless. It's tough on Sean but the Pozzo's have done well at two other clubs of a similar size and they will continue doing it their way at our club. I understand the sympath for Sean but they've made their decision and I have to admit I suspect the football will be more pleasing on the eye. I for one have not looked forward to the future at Watford so much in a very long time and can't wait to see what happens next. Good luck Sean and Gianfranco

Harsh on Dyche. Makes sense that players and managers look after themselves first before thinking about loyalty. Surely Malky, had he stayed, would have been treated the same so it totally justifies him looking after himself first. Surely he is forgiven now as so many people seem to be able to justify Dyche's removal?

People need to stop *****ing complaining so much already.

Just ride it out, by August we could potentially have a squad full of exciting players playing exciting football and we'd have forgotten all this. I don't agree that it's right that Dyche is being turfed out, but that's football. Managers have a life expectancy lower than a daddy long legs, glad the owners are getting the person they want in rather than Dyche being judged for his every mistake.

Lets support Zola and be happy that we're not in administration.
