Zola Fav for Forest Job

Now it seems Warnock has turned down the Forest Job, Zola is now the hot Fav, really cant see him going there, is his agent touting him for a job? He has been on TV a bit lately, that is usually a sign that someone may be putting themselves in the shop window.

He is Fav for next QPR Manager and second Fav for Norwich next manager when I lasted look.

Think his next Job will be in Italy, he will need to succeed in the long term in his next job or that may be his third strike and out.

Don't agree with this. Once you're in the merry-go-round of managers, you stay there until you retire.

I wonder if Florist sacked Davies expecting Colin to take it and are now a bit taken aback/stuck?

The timing really looks that way!

If so Colin goes up in my estimation (albeit from a pretty low starting point!)

Bingo. This especially works with a big-name manager like Zola who is well-loved by the media and the people. You don't have to be good to stay on it e.g Harry "Wheeler-Dealer" Redknapp

I think Zola must have had a clause in his contract about media appearances written in when he left. Near enough 3 months to the day since he left and he was back on TV and in the papers.

Never thought about it like that, would make sense

Warnock turned the job down because he wouldn't have control over player recruitment - presumably Zola wouldn't share that issue

I may be wrong but dont think Zola is that sort of bloke, dont think he needs the money, think he will wait for the right job (not sure what that will be though)

Managing in italy is not where you get long term experience. As we know the 'head coach' system in italy is more volatile than anywhere. Wasn't sannino sacked and rehired in the same season?

Here's a question (and put yourself in Zola's shoes). Say hypothetically that QPR don't go up- Redknapp would be pretty much gone. Would you want to go to Forest now or would you hold out on the chance that QPR fail to go up?

Genuine question btw, not meant to be an attack at you. Question is actually open to anyone.

If Zola picked either club he'd have to (currently) contend with the implications of a FFP embargo/fine. Forest have been rebuilding since their new owners have come in. It has mainly been with Championship experienced players and they have done alright. Forest, however, have always been that team to buckle when the pressure gets tough.

QPR on the other hand would throw money at Zola to buy players despite the rules. I don't think Zola's charm would cut it at QPR. I could see him waiting that little bit longer and seeing who is the first managerial dismissal in the Premier League next season.

It will be a shame if he joins the bindippers.

Zola is a class act and was a fabulous player. Rather than make Forest a nicer club, he will only be corrupted by their thick, whinging fans.

Have I missed something here? Zola has now failed twice at management yet is being touted at more clubs? Lovely bloke but that's about it.

You'd be mad to give Zola a job in the Premier League.

To be honest, I'd be pretty excited about Zola coming into a the club if Billy Davies was the last manager and the replacement intially looked likely to be Warnock.

Despite Zola's downfall this season, he has a good footballing brain. If he does link with Pearce for this role then I have a feeling it'll be very exciting for the club. Defence and attacking coaches. If Zola had the back-up he needed in areas we struggled in, I think he would still be around.

Seems a few of them fancy Vydra as their first signing as well as some of our talent. I get the feeling here that they don't quite get who runs our football club and surprisingly who also own Vydra!! They've already had one of last seasons successes in Chalobah and completely ruined him, although I think Ross Jenkins would be perfect for them.

Considering he would have a meaner defence there, and they are trained in Davies bullying/ assaulting tactics, I think he would do well for a season or so.

Definitely play better football than they play now, plus will probably bring the best out of Chalobah.

Chalobah is at Middlesbrough now. Other than that though I reckon you're right, they have some good players and Zola's style coupled with the recent memory of Billy's style has the potential to work very well together.

I reckon Zola is like a Laudrup manager. Excellent for the first season, but it'll ultimately fall apart once teams figure out how to beat his teams and he has no response. It's a shame because he's Zola. I remember Jacob Steinberg (guardian writer and West Ham fan) said when he was appointed, the players will love him, because they do little tactical work and they'll play for him, but when it goes sour he won't know what to do. I also wouldn't trust their management with player recruitment, we have the Pozzo's they have a man who knows nothing about football.

Few tweets on the twitter saying GFZ is set to hold talks with Forest, unsure if any are ''ITK''.

Zola is now part of our past. Just like Dyche is, when he takes Burnley up. Just like Malky is, and Rodgers.

Life moves on. Football moves on. We move with it.

Our era now is Sannino..who I understand will remain in charge next season. We must just hope and pray those members here who have fully backed him since his arrival are right about his ability and credentials, otherwise next season will be as average as this one has been.

Is this the same source that told you RDM would be in charge next season?

Will we finally see the Sannino/Di Matteo dream team we've been waiting for??
