I see on the WFC site that we lost 3.1 to Ipswich last night in the Cup. Apparently we had three -players go off with iunjuries which obviously didn't help.

Did anyone living out that way go and see it??

An Ipswich supporting friend of mine reported back in a slightly more coherent manner. :)

Described Watford youth as the most unfit side he had seen in a long time, with a number of the team suffering cramp in the second half besides those who went off injured.

    U18's Youth Cup

The Watford side was very young school boys playing U16's started only second year scholars Beech , Forbes, Bennet, Young, Henderson on pitch .
The others were too weak physically due to age and so were knocked about on the pitch or just barged off the ball.
The pitch was awful very heavy with puddles round the edges and so some of the young players did go down with cramp.

Defence only 2 players were tackling Beech Bennett no midfield support

Beech serious Head injury taken off to hospital during the game after two bad head clashes ,once he left the pitch deference were lost he really was a great player to watch and hope WFC don’t sell him before he gets to play for the first Team .
Jenkins some evidence of skill but did not drop back and support defence enough
Young starting to show some similarities to his brother but still not there yet.
North some quality saves him and Beech stopped it being 4 or 5 down another hope we hang onto
Forbes was not on Form held ball well but no shots the strikers were passing round the box not many serious strikes on goal
    Henderson not on Form
School boys for the future not for now and should not have been on the pitch
Player of the match Beech followed by North and Bennett

Still some promising players for watford lets hope not developed by us and then sold or taken on by other clubs

i went to the game, the last posts was very true, the ipswich number 8 ran the midfield, someone has said that beech was being scouted by tottenham? if thats true, then why not promote him to the first team bench so aidy can sell him for a better price!!! coz isnt that what we do? sell good players??

it would be a shame to see home grown players sold off when all they really want to do is play for their one and only local club

I could believe that as the Youth Scout for WAtford (who I know and who probably brought Beech in) got the sack last year and went to Spurs:dismay:

if he brought beech in,did he work for northwood?

it would be a step backwards if he went to spurs, wouldnt get a game at all!!!
