Sure. But no manager in that bracket would consider coming to our basket-case of a club. We need to find a way to still be able to bring in the dregs...the poorest, the weakest, the most desperate. Will we have to appoint such losers as "manager" of Udinese for a few months before they are allowed to come over here to take instructions from Troy ?

I don't like when managers/coaches treat fans like fools. It's clear we weren't pressing high and attacking. Maybe that was the intent, but we weren't doing it. We improved a little when Hughes came on but that was very late in the game.

I think sometimes these coaches fool themselves. They are so focused on the little details, that they don't see the bigger picture. They don't see the game as the watching fan does. Anyone watching that game could see two sides slogging it out with very little forward ability. The only side that was looking to win it were Coventry until around the 80th minute where we had a couple of moments where we could have scored. That was it. Certainly we're not improving. We're similar, if not a little worse, than we were under Ivic. That is the sad fact. I don't think Munoz will be around much longer to get annoyed by this type of thing, but he has to give fans and the watching public a bit more credit and not to try to pull the wool over everyone's eyes. Still at least he said something different rather than the usual "I have perfect players and they are all working very hard".

One thing i've noticed since he joined, which I think shows pretty poor coaching, is how bad our pressing has been. Often whoever the striker is, let's say Pedro, will chase the keeper down. The rest of the team will sit it and the keeper has two easy passes to the CB's. It always seems to be the case that one player presses but no one else joins. I'm not a tactics or pressing expert but surely they all press, or nobody presses. Our strikers just waste their energy for no reason.

Yes...the Leventhal article in the Athletic does indicate that he isn't able to get his ideas across with regards to pressing, whether that's a language issue or simply that he's a poor coach/communicator, I'm not entirely sure

On that video clip they did for one of the games the coaching seems to consist of whistling loudly or shouting the same thing over and over again!

Tis a good point . Last season during NP early stint , when we won 4 and drew 2 out of 6, our pressing was good .
However it was Doucoure who pressed the ball whilst the front 3 cut out the "outball"
The opening goal away at Muff is a good example of this although GD was the presser
but if you watch the other forwards they are looking to shut down passing lanes , making play predictable etc which is from good coaching

Yeah. It’s so noticeable as well. Even when we have the ball there’s no patterns of play, no cohesion. It’s genuinely amazing how he’s landed the job. A lot of times I think corrrr yea I could do a better job - this is the first time I believe it

Watford managerial appointment: unknown Spaniard who has never played in England and with very limited experience as head coach of a club in Georgia.

Bournemouth managerial appointment: short list of four candidates including David Wagner and John Terry. Jonathan Woodgate also under consideration.

    Says it all!

I don’t think any of those Bournemouth candidates are that compelling to be honest. Terry has no experience in management. Woodgate was awful at Boro. Wagner was good at Huddersfield before he was bad at Huddersfield and bad at Schalke. I think Vieira is the fourth candidate who is a sexy name of course but the style of football played by Nice was really really negative.

Munoz is obviously the wrong appointment and we’ll have to see how we (inevitably and shortly) replace him. But this list of Bournemouth managers isn’t all that.

I agree with your comments, although I think that any of these candidates would have been a better appointment than Muñoz. But that is not saying much!

Everybody can have a great defence if you dont attack ,our 4231 system in the prem was more attacking against good teams ,why are we so defence minded in this tin pot league we need to let the shackles off the ball players sarr zinc sema pedro hughes ,get the full backs to overlap ,dont have to have a great coach to do that it's not rocket science

Vieira too. We are so lucky we secured Munoz when we did, there's a real risk we'd have lost him to them if we'd delayed.

This guy is a plum. But we're stuck with him because we'd only replace him with another obscure foreign manager but now none of them are eligible for work permits. Get ready for a lot more Xisco.

BREAKING - Xisco wants Deeney to play further forward and that Hughes will get a chance soon.

He also says once we score the first goal, we will have 'other things' but doesn't elaborate what those things are or what happens if we don't score the first goal.

He says Troy needs to be 'in the box', he didn't make clear if he thought goal hanging was allowed in the Championship. He also says that Will Hughes has 'huge potential', proving once and for all what we probably knew already:-

He has indeed come forward in a time machine to this year.

I didn’t have too many issues with his unfettered positivity previously - viewing it as some sort of man management tool - but this week was just delusional.

Hughes has potential to play in the middle? He has played there and done well for many years including this season.

If he wants to back Gray and try and give him confidence and play him into form, that’s understandable. But likening the form of Pedro (who has six goals in his first proper season as a teenager in England) to Gray (a senior pro and former top scorer in this division on extortionate money who has one goal this season) is poor man management. Munoz has totally stunted the development of Pedro.

Deeney, who Munoz suggests is again the first name on the team sheet, needs to play further forward. Not playing him further forward was this guy’s one tactical tweak.

No mention of Zinckernagel, again. Or that Perica is a new helpful option who could start instead of Deeney.

These comments aren’t just baselessly upbeat as in the past, they are demonstrative of baffling tactical choices.

Just f**k off you absolute plague of a man. I'd take being in League Two if it meant never having to hear his name or see him in a Watford shirt again.

We have an over the hill, unfocused, consistently crap player literally positioned as more important than the team and bigger than the club. It's such a perfect measure of what a f**king state this club is in.

I truly hope he plays Hughes on the left and the players perform with the same energy they showed vs Coventry. Then this tanned gooch can get the corner flag treatment and we can get the next thicko in to fall under Deeney's spell.
