2)Getting relegated, if it meant the scum got relegated?

Id rather we stay in the Prem, won the League Cup at least and watch Loo get relegated back to Lg One on the final day while we survive.

    1. Premier League status has far more prestige than one odd occasion as far as I am concerned.
Would rather be in the Premier League than playing in a lower league with just a memory to cling to, as Wigan for example.

    2. Same as above. I don't particularly like L***n either but my love of this club far outweighs any dislike of them up the road.

    3. Reason as in two above.

I never could understand the significance put on the cup by football fans. Yes it is a great achievement, but after all it is just a case of going 6 games without defeat (forgetting replays).
Winning the League is achieved over 38 matches and is a far more significant feat in my opinion, although I admit we don't have much chance of achieving it in the foreseeable future.

I am ready for the abuse!!!

No abuse but I’m guessing you weren’t around during the heyday of the FA Cup which stretched from at least 1923 to the advent of the shiny new Premier League.
Even during that time it was always acknowledged that, from a professional player’s point of view, winning the league was the the pinnacle of achievement but winning the Cup provided the glory because of the showpiece final at Wembley. So the Cup was always the big one for the fans. Remember, in those days getting to the Cup Final was the only way for your team to play at Wembley.
Nowadays, even more than then, only a very few clubs are likely to win the league whereas many more can aspire to that run of 6 games without defeat which could provide a place in the record books as a winner of a major trophy, something which has eluded many clubs other than our own.
On a personal note, I can also never understand why fans are not excited by Cup ties for their own sake. Each one has the potential for either the end of your chance in the competition or a doubling of your chance of winning it since half the teams are knocked out. That sort of jeopardy doesn’t exist in almost any league game which by nature is one of many.

I agree with all of this, and also of course for a lower league club is the only avenue that provides even just a glimmer of a chance of any kind of glory.
You are right, I was not around in 1923, I can remember my Dad bringing me to matches when we used to play in the blue and white strip, but then went quite a few years before really being able to call myself a true supporter. My firstmatch that I attended off my own back was in fact an FA Cup 3rd round match against Liverpool in January 1967. Then I never missed another home game after that, until attending a wedding in Stoke on Trent in December 1969 and missing us beat Oxford United 2-0.

This prem run is our chance at a cup. Sooner or later the odds have got to be that we get a run where we either beat better teams and or don’t come up against city or Liverpool

Relegated we stand little chance to nil currently I’d estimate it at 1:20. Stay for 20 years as a mid perm club and we should win some silverware. Then Luton can shut up forever
