It was quite a high "boot" Morgan did make the most of it.

I Think Germany put up a great fight but in the end, England managed to claim the win, albeit with Bright’s goal being offside.

    He isn't the manager I don't think.

Just re-signed for the club as a player.

    Or tried to.

Ah yes. Maybe I should have read the article :). I usually rely on VoR to read them for me and summarise !

Many congratulations to Watford Women for emulating the men and getting relegated by a 97th minute goal.

Pretty sure at one point this season Coventry went bust and were about 10pts behind in last place.

They were lucky Coventry had a 10 point deduction which took it to the final match, but they were clearly in a league they had no right to be in. Totally out of their depth………. a bit like the men.

How does women’s football solve the issue of dodgy goalkeepers?

My girls wanted to watch women play so I put the Forest v Watford cup final on with about 5 mins of normal time to go. It was 2-2 at full time. Replays showed the first Watford goal was direct from a corner which the keeper palmed into the net on her line. The second of the Watford goals was the result of a ridiculous flap by the Forest keeper from a free kick from miles out which moved a lot but was sooo slow a man would have just caught it. Then Forest have just scored the winner in ET from a slow chipped through ball from about 40yds which the keeper went to ground to collect in the middle of her box and missed completely under minimal pressure from a Forest attacker, and so it just rolled tamely into the net. What a way to lose a cup final…

    Was a bad error .

I guess physically they don’t have the power and presence the men do ?

    Ladies had their chances too.

Shame to probably lose like that after such a great run and performances

I know I’ve been a pretty scathing of it on this thread but being serious for a second, is it just smaller goals or lighter balls needed or something?

Evidently I wasn’t paying enough attention when they showed the replays at full time of the normal time goals. Forest’s second was arguably another goalkeeper mistake!

I went today as it wasn't too far out from the way back from Yorkshire. Far better than the shambles I witnessed yesterday in Hull. It was great to see a Watford side with some desire and passion and the men can learn a lot from them. Thought Watford were the better team and played the better football but Forest had some big girls and were a bit more physical. I had never been to a ladies game before but I will certainly be going to more now. Good Watford following as well. Was basically a home tie for Forest.

Just want to congratulate the Watford Ladies on reaching the National Women's League Final. It was played today and they lost 3-2 in a cracking game. Currently sat second in the table, with a home game against current leaders Oxford next up at the Vic. Having a wonderful season and it's a bright spot in what has been a pretty awful season for Watford FC in general. Well done to the girls! I hope they continue to get stronger and push for titles.

I've touched on this before but the lack of girls playing from an early age means there is a really small pool of poor players from which to choose the keeper. In all the time I spent as a part of the womens game I only ever saw one outstanding keeper and she played for Garston, then with one of my daughters at Watford. Just the one.
