Another awayday, another superb win. A great start to the journey when the train announcer said the 5.45 train would stop at Watford Junction on the way back to Euston, common sense all round. I've not been to Wolves since the 80's as it's not the most pleasant of places, plus what happened to Moo last time out left a slight edge to things, but we found that there was "almost" no problem at all, quite the opposite.

I hate what they do with the away fans, maybe we should do that with the away fans and put them down the bottom of the Lower GT. So hard to get a decent atmosphere going when you're all stretched out like that. However the way the game panned out meant it happened anyway. One thing that today brought home was how bloody awful the z-cars thing is at our ground. They had flames, pyrotecnics and music that got the crowd totally going, exactly the opposite of our sh*tty song. It really was banging as the teams came out. We must change that at the Vic IMO. If they fill in the corners at Molineux then it really will be an awesome ground, (apart from the beer selling places which are dog slow). I hate to say it but I liked the place.

Do I need to say anything about the game itself apart from the fact that we totally dominated that first half and managed the 2nd half perfectly. Cutting out those diagonal balls to the wingers killed them stone dead. I said after the 1st game they played that it would be easy to nullify the attack and I believe what we did today will be copied by every other team now, it was just sublime how we stopped them playing. They simply cannot play through the middle. Todays match may be the moment things change for Wolves. Bravo Gracia!

After the game one utter ******* from Wolves decided to try to take on all away fans until he found a biter, but other than that there were no problems at all, I think they were a bit shellshocked.

Another beautiful away day. Loving this season.

Great result so so happy we done those Neanderthals. Got a few who support them lot over here so I've the bragging rights for a bit. Javi done a marvellous job today so credit where it's due. The only negative was not really putting them to the sword could of grabbed a third and probably should of but that 2nd half performance was a master stroke from javi slowing the game down at every opportunity which kept their crowd quiet and players rattled. The Wolves fans I've spoke to said they were below par today but I think it's because we kept to our plan snuffed the midfield out and never allowed them to play. Buy far the better team and lets hope it continues in to the next games.

I would be disappointed if we didn't get 7 points from those 3 matches.

When we're on it, we are a really good side. We've been unlucky in the past few matches, although that hideous performance is lurking within us, so that should ground everyone in terms of expectation.

I still think we're two important players away from being a consistently good side. But we're so tantalisingly close to it, and it is exciting to think what this side could evolve into.

As highlighted by UEA, really good observation. Gracia is usually pretty open about injuries in the pre game press conferences so the fact he didn't mention Deeney being out suggests this was part of a strategy. They were left with three centre backs marking Success, Deulofeu floating between the lines and being outnumbered in midfield. Bearing in mind they've played the same team every game, we've done a real number on them. We knew how they'd play but completely surprised them with our play. Full marks to the coaching team.

Good idea with the Away fans at the Vic. Might get rid of some of those seats at the front with an obscure view too. And to open both ends up behind the goal to home support could generate a better atmosphere

The outstanding first half performance was topped by the half time 'entertainment' that, as far as I could make out, involved a fat bloke putting on a t-shirt. As much as I enjoyed today, Wolves is a sh1te away-day. Only one pub in the city for away fans (and that's actually a hotel bar)?? Come on Wolverhampton! Try to drag yourself out of the 1970s

  8. Also how good was Delafoo in a free central role. Before the match I would have gone with Hughes there, but Delafoo was brilliant at finding the space between the lines and getting involved in everything. Sublime.

I imagine MOTD will play a similar tune, however I was watching a Canadian Chanel with premier league commentary (not sure who) and they continued to emphasise even in the 2nd half how we outclassed them in every aspect. In fact I think the commentator had a thing for Capoue

Think it just goes to show what he adds to the side. Match fit and 100 percent, like others hace said, we probably have the best midfield in the league bar City.

Great away day! Waking up at 5.45 so we could get an early train (11 quid return!) Is so worth it now. Brilliant performance, so clinical to punish them for losing concentration after our first. We managed the game brilliantly.

City could not beat em at Molinuex, but we did and we made em look ordinary!

Anyone on the right side see the angry Wolves fan in the black? He was hilarious.

When I looked at the half time team sheet I half hoped Wolves scored just so I could hear the commentator go " Vinagre strokes the ball into the net"

But alas my Viz schoolboy humour wasnt tickled.

Fantastic result. Having a touch of the 'I-told-you-so''s as one of the few that were positive about our chances pre-game this week....kidding!

But yes, kudos JG and the boys. Foster was a near spectator all afternoon. Gracia got his subs spot on and shut the game down well when Wolves were getting some confidence. I was a dissenting voice on the Shoutbox for making changes to counter Wolves but I accept I was wrong and Gracia got it right.

Agree when people say that Kabasele is better than Maps, but he didn't let us down today. As he rarely does. I'm a big fan of letting players take their chances and Mariappa did that today and as such deserves to keep his place. A bit of competition won't do Kabasele any harm and it will show everyone in the squad that they have a chance of playing. Same for Masina - we will all agree that Holebas has been much improved this season but he should recognise by collecting 5 bookings in 8 games, he gave Masina the opportunity to stake a claim for his position and he did that today. I feel for Chalobah. Undoubtedly, I think he would have started today but due to Doucoure being somewhere near back to his best, and Capoue being the standout player of the season so far, I feel he'll be back to waiting his turn again. Deulofeu was good and will only get better with minutes. Bobby P was everything I feel he can be today - both mecurial in attack but adding to his game defensively. Looks like this season's Mahrez 'revelation' to me so far. And then Isaac Success - finally fulfilling his promise and price-tag. He bullied their CB's today and was immense both in the air when played into him, but also on the floor. They were terrified. He's easily our best striker on this form and for me, it's now up to the other 2 to play their way back in. But I'm not so condescending of Deeney/Gray - don't forget our early form had those two at its arrowhead - I find it genuinely exciting that we have options and various ways of setting up in attack now. Last word for Ben Wilmott, just a few minutes but I'm certain he will be figuring more for the 1st team that we might think as the season progresses.

Genuinely excited for the next few weeks - some real opportunities to pick up points and turn this season into potentially something amazing!

Well done Javi and the boys,

PS. Kudos to HB1 too for not mentioning the ref in his 1st after-game post! ;)

  17. We drove up, parked in a massive but practically empty car park about three quarters of a mile from the ground (£3) and about halfway to the ground stopped for a 2 course Thai lunch and a couple of Singhas for £12 a head. Jolly decent away day in my book.

I was in a quandary whether to go to the game or to go on the People's March. Must admit I went on the latter and ducked out around 3pm to watch the game on my phone in a pub. Must say, its the most positive Saturday I've had all year, even if I accept not everyone here will agree with my choice!

Anyone else just sat an hour hoping to watch "insightful" opinions about our game today from the "professional" pundits on MOTD? Yea... Apparently the game and both clubs could be summed up in 15 seconds after a showing of poorly selected highlights that didn't include any worthwhile analysis apart from "Pereyra is good, he's from Argentina, I think. He shot with the outside of his boot, I'd find that hard". Jesus Christ... How much are these people paid?!

Well Shearer only wants to talk about the lows of Newcastle, Murphy only wants to talk about the highs of Liverpool, and Lineker only wants to sit in his pants salivating over Leicester.

How on earth could West Ham v Spurs (o-1) and Huddersfield v Liverpool (0-1) be above us in the running order? It is getting beyond a joke now. I get Chelsea v United, Cardiff v Fulham and Man City v Burnley should have gone first, but the Watford match should have been next. On amount of goals scored, the quality of finishes and interest value. Had Wolves won that 2-0, I'm certain it would have been given a much higher place of importance on the show. Only Newcastle v Brighton (0-1) and Bournemouth v Southampton (0-0) were below us. The only way we will ever be near the top billing is when we lose. When we got smashed at home in the last game we were placed 2nd in the running order. The bigger the defeat the higher we go.....that's the BBC way.

I liked Murphys assessment of Pererya being good because he even played for argentina in the week, top research.

It was worth watching for the mourinho incident and the Dyche rant. I missed the ref scoring a hat trick for Man City and the 6 red cards for Burnley though as i fell asleep for that bit.

I wholeheartedly agree with you in that less interesting games are being placed in front of us. However, that doesn't concern me so much as I like watching all the highlights anyways. It's when the pundits evidently couldn't give a toss about putting in a little bit of research and analysis on a game which annoys me the most. They don't even have to do it themselves for God's sakes... Just read a bleedin' script ffs...

Shearer's happy to talk about Newcastle for 5 minutes after a very bland loss yet is happy to piss away any analysis on a 1st half Watford performance that would normally only be seen executed by teams in the top 4. God know's how Bournemouth and Southampton fans feel because they somehow managed to get less than the 15 second analysis that we got!

I have to say I don’t see the issue this week.

There were 8 games on. To maximise viewing figures, obviously the games containing the bigger teams would be on first. MOTD by its nature will make a big deal of a couple of games at the top of the show and the others will get equal billing in terms of time and coverage.

So Man Utd vs Chelsea is a given to lead the show. Then you have games with Liverpool, Man City and Spurs. I’d say we would realistically have been on next but Cardiff vs Fulham was a good game with plenty of goals so you can’t argue with that going on before us.

As for the analysis after the game - agreed, it has some simplistic views but Murphy was complimentary and noted that Pereyra had been away with Argentina and scored, and then was full of high-praise for his finish. Given the time constraints of the show, what more would people want them to say?

If 30 seconds is all the time they have to talk, then seriously, what is the point? I get more football insight from Dave in the local after he has had 8 pints.

Yes I agree. But short of extending the show, I don’t see what more could be said in the time that is allowed. Our game got as much coverage and analysis as 5 other games tonight, and we got praise in the analysis. You need to remember that MOTD goes out to the nation, so as mind-numbingly obvious as some of the things the pundits say about us, it’s only obvious to us as WFC fans. I understand, I’d like us to get more coverage and in depth analysis each week, but it’s the nature of the show, nothing else. I don’t think either of tonight’s guests were being wilfully ignorant. And the running order of the show made sense as the BBC are no doubt considering the cross-sections of their audience.

I dont agree with your reasoning of Spurs and Liverpool being above us because they are top 6 clubs. They generally go on the game and how many goals are scored.

If what you were saying was true, then Cardiff v Fulham would never have been 2nd. It seems to me whenever we have a bad day at the office the match is usually one of their top billing games. When we do well it’s hidden at the tail end of their show so no one sees it.

Not sure why they do this but watch out for it, as it happens all the time.
