I liked how we sent them Wague back. They looked at him for 2 days, said... "Wel;, he's stil crap... Oi, send us one that can play!" Hopefully this means the Basque bloke is actually coming here.
I think this is an exciting move and learning experience if he can get some games. Good on him for being up for it and broadening his world horizons at the tender age of 19.
I'd have kept him and started him alongside Cathcart for the rest of the season personally We're safe already and he looks at least as good as, if not better than, Mariappa and Kabasele
I think we've got a real gem in Wilmot. There is no need to rush him into the first team here, and any game time he gets in Serie A is going to be massive in his development. Not many 19 year old British players get the chance he has and I can only see this as a win win situation for all Pozzo's involved
I agree he looks a prospect but why not play him here. Dropping Mariappa or Kabasele would be removing one of our weak links in any case and we will soon be in a position where we have lower pressure league games as the season winds down.
Nobody defends like the Italians it's in the blood. Week in week out even if he does not get much playing time he will learn his trade. Better weather more opportunities to learn his skills and sample European football. I see him stepping into a starting spot 2019/2020. Exciting prospect, could be our best.
Its an incredible opportunity for someone who's 19 and really just starting to get to grips with their trade
You can’t loan success anymore than you can bottle it. I kept thinking we would sell Gray to Cardiff.
Should be well placed to get his autograph, having had 90 minutes to work out how best to ask him after sitting on the bench.
He might well have asked for it, given he hasn't had that much game time here. He is also a person, maybe he wants to live in another country for a while, different culture etc. Can't do any harm
In one sense I think it's a poor decision as we need defensive cover and he has shown what a calm capable young player he is. And he could do with the experience of first team football. No harm at all for his development. On the other hand so long as he gets given match time at Udinese then he will come back a better player as they really do focus on the strategy of defence. That is what is important. Sitting on the bench won't do him any use and they do have a fair number of defenders in the squad. However it's a trend for several clubs in the EPL to do this and so far for them it has worked out well but those players like Nelson, Sancho have had plenty of game time.
Unused sub today in the draw against Fiorentina. Not really a surprise considering he's probably only trained once or twice with the team. Udinese 4 points above the relegation zone.
Will Wilmott be thrown into a relegation battle at such a young age or maybe Gino will make sure he does start ?!
Marvellous Marvin and Okaka also on the bench,Okaka came on. Behrami was booked, some things never change!
Hopefully he's sabotaging things behind the scenes. Switching the shampoo for hair removal gel in the showers to lower team morale. Taking kevin lasagnes wallet and putting it in behrami's locker to make him look like a thief, thereby increasing mistrust and suspicion among the squad. Lashing loads of weight-gain powder in the teams pasta sauce to lower fitness levels etc
