Will we finish top 10?

Sitting just 2 points off 10th place, could this finally be the year we break into the top half?

A lot of poor sides in this league so why not

No. No we won't. I'll put my mortgage on it.

Surely your mortgage is someone else's money.

Put your money where you mouth is and bet the part of the house you actually own ;-)

    No. Never going to happen,

Significantly more fans think we will go down (7 point gap) than finish top 10 (2 point gap).

I guarantee this will reverse when we beat Sunderland. 90 minute memories.

    Not this year.

    We should have done.

We have the players and set up to do it.

But something somewhere, somehow just isn't working - I just can't put my finger on what it is

Personally, I think we will do neither.
I also would like to say that I am satisfied with our present status, having supported the club over many years. I am not however, satisfied with our style of play, and the dull and boring football that I persevere with watching week in and week out.
I have never been one to really make much of a noise about wanting to get shot of a Manager / Head Coach, but suffice it to say that I do not remember having such negative thoughts about such since George Kirby replaced Ken Furphy.
Oops, forgot that *!!**!!**! Bassett. Worst one ever.

Right - I have consulted my crystal ball and may have been smoking some funny stuff but I have come over all optimistic.
We will stuff Sunderland and off the back of that beat WBA - that gets us to 37 points and we feel safe.
We go to Spurs and put up a good show but lose narrowly - good for our confidence.
So we beat Swansea comfortably and go on to teach Hull how to play football. We are on 43 points.
Home to Liverpool - we beat them - again but not 3-0 this time. 46
We go to Leicester who have relaxed having secured their place for another year. Narrow 1-0 win; 49
Everton - away - a step too far - we are soundly beaten. 49 still
Man City come but we are up for it and we want to avoid defeat - a good draw. 50 points.
Chelsea away - we lose whenever it is played.

Mazzarri is given another 2 years.

    And to continue ....
Alarm goes off ... Yawn.... sod it, it's Monday morning, time to get up for work.
However I like your optimism and I hope you turn out to be correct.

Who are these players we have? The same ones who played hoof ball all last year as well as this?

How many points are we going to need to seal this deal? I reckon 8 or 9 should do it but it'll be a tough ask from our remaining fixtures.

I think 47/48 for top half
Winning at Leicester would help a lot but that's going to be tough

I don't need to remind anyone it really is a funny old game and much depends on others not to succeed.

But one thing's for sure ... we will have another crack at it next season.

Ok last seasons thread, I realise that, but however, I have put £20.00 at 7/1 for top 10 / top half finish for the coming season.
I have covered the bet by putting £50 at 2/5 to stay up, so as long as we don't get relegated, and I am pretty confident we won't, I will at least get my £70 stake money back.

Thought you would get better odds on top 10 with way we finished last season.

Not for me - have a feeling Deeney will be up top still and therefore think it will be a struggle next season.

Need at least one accomplished striker before we can dream of Top 10

Definitely value in a top 10 bet, with the standard lack of faith from the bookies.

You can get 8/1 online, but I prefer to use the "High Street" rather than opening online accounts with various bookies.
Don't think we will end up as badly as we did last season, think Silva will bring out some qualities that have been hidden under the rather hapless WM.

Hopefully Deeney will play in a partnership with someone up front as he did with Vydra, rather than last seasons idea of hoof it up to Deeney, and hope for the best.

We won't get in the top 10 with Deeney leading the line.

Well we were lucky not to go down in the end - always in a relegation battle etc.

66/1 to finish in the top 6 next season with bet365.

Also, 19/4 to beat liverpool on the opening day. Get your house on that!

With a better manager. Given his skills and a good partner/build up play Deeney has potential to do well again.

Top 10 would be a stretch. But given the bunching of everyone apart from the top 7 and bottom 2-3 it's not impossible so should be an aim. Fixtures dont look awful. For the optimist top 10 looks like value, not for me though, I won't tempt fate like that

Despite everything I say about the fat lump, Deeney isn't without skill or knowledge of the prem now. If he stays I expect a few may be surprised.

Outside the top 7 or 8 there is very little difference between the sides as shown last season. Couple of decent signings and it might be possible
