£13m feels far too cheap for a talented home grown player. You know as soon as he joined Spurs Southgate would instantly put him in the England squad and he'd be worth £30m +. Anyway surely we can't sell everybody.
Why not? We don't need him! We've got Clevs and Del-Bash and we're signing Hutchinson! COYH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well if Doucoure has gone for £22m, then a younger, better, homegrown player has to be £30m minimum. As Jumbolina says, as soon as he joins them his value has increased. The opposite of driving a new car off the forecourt. I have been expecting at least one PL team to have been paying enough attention to realise how good he was, but that valuation is taking the absolute ****. I’d tell them to **** off if that’s their opening gambit.
You joke, but this is exactly the sort of idiotic mindset a lot of our fans could quite easily adopt if we win this friendly with Spurs.
Lol, as if he's good enough for Spurs. I'm aware we're winning against them in a friendly, but he's nothing more than a lower half PL player at max, and for the first half of last season he hardly looked a footballer.
Who would be playing centre midfield for them? They also have European games to play, so he'd be a useful signing for them. Definitely good enough for a lot of Premier League teams, was speaking to a Sheffield United fan and he said he'd absolutely love to have Hughes
I hope they're pulling that figure out of their arse, because £13m is absolute peanuts for someone of his ability
If he can continue to develop as a deeper, ball winning midfielder then he could still become a good Premier League player, but as it stands he doesn't do enough to be more than a decent bottom half player or a very good Championship one.
He's runs around a lot, gets stuck in and is completely ineffective. A perfect watford fans favourite.
I cannot see Spurs fans being that impressed if they signed him. Good solid player for us but not really top 6 material./
Will Hughes is not one we should be selling. Why would Spurs want him? Wouldn't make their first XI anyway, just be squad depth because of Europe perhaps.
Nice dig a Southgate. He's nothing but a lickspittle to the FA. Can't stand him. Selling Hughes for 13 million would be up there with the worst business this club has ever done.
??? With the right coach playing him in the right position I beg to differ. He’s a very good footballer with the right attitude. £13m would be a steal for Spurs.
Dont mean anything. With some clever editing even a best of Isaac Success is possible. I just dont see him as a regular at a team chasing top 4.
We're not going to sell him for 13 mill, that's ridiculous, unless there's some kind of release clause in his contract that we don't know about. Which I doubt. I think the media are just quoting that figure because that's what Transfermarkt say his current market value is. No chance.
Hilarious if true. I know Covid and all that, but Eze just went for £16mil with “very achievable clauses” to make it £20mil. Doucoure our 3rd best midfielder just went for £22-25mil depending on what report you read. Based off those valuations, I can’t see our Gino rating a prime English midfielder at only £13mil. Hughes is worth at least £25mil.
But that’s your opinion and you may be right. What you’re not right about is what you actually said which was about running with the ball and shooting. He’s pretty good at both when given the opportunity by the right coach in the right role.
My opinion was based largely on last season tbf. He may show some form from the older clips in that video at the appropriate club, time will tell. I dont think there has been much evidence of him going past players though which could be a problem in a more advance role in those top teams. In hindsight i shouldve said go past players and shoot though he can shoot properly at times as seen on the video.
