Yep, exactly what they all said about us when we we went up!

Not sure what your point is? Hardly any of our squad had previous experience in the Prem and they were mainly younger than Derby's collection of has-beens

I want Fulham. Principally for the Joka. He was appallingly treated by us and he deserves it. He was unlucky with Fulham last season too. Nobody deserves that twice on the trot particularly after being shafted by us. The man has undoubted class and charisma unlike most of the cloned head coach bores currently populating the Premier League. And he plays exciting football as well.

If he doesn't make it then we should make a move. Can Gino eat humble pie though? Doubtful. OK - the subject of another thread. And we should go for Vydra again too.

The general advice re. 'not going back' is wise. But not always. Sometimes it's better, with hindsight, to simply suck-it-up and admit you were wrong

Don't think that is true, I think it was just down to Boro's approach.

Just that they where saying one of the relegation places would be nailed down, or in so many words, and look we are still here.
Not that I necessarily thing that Derby would have survived had they been promoted.

Could the forum take it if both Joka and Dyche were managing teams higher up the table than us?

Burnley could easily get relegated next season especially with their new 'Thursday night problem'. They have been under Dyche once already remember.

What if Burnley fall at the first Euro hurdle? That would be only one extra game as we will be exempt for an extra round in the League Cup.

I don't think we will reach the group stages of the Europa League but may have a decent LC run.

Don't want Burnley to get relegated anyway, it's one of my weekend away jaunts, had a pleasant weekend in December. Stayed at Burnley Barracks Travelodge for three nights, and am looking forward to returning next season.
Palarse and Wet Spam can f*** o** though!

Forgot how grim Villas team is. Terry, jedinak, grelish and one or two others.

    Fulham it is.

Played out the last 15 minutes with 10 men very well.

Think Fulham will need less surgery this summer than Villa would have. Mitrovic is dross though so I hope they sign him.

Top bantz from Sky to have Keith Andrews sat next to Sone Aluko whilst he was praising Slav's ability to knit a squad together... four years after he exiled Andrews from our squad.

Villa will not come up for some time I would have thought now.

Mitrovic not really good enough for Premier, but would still be an upgrade on Deeney and Gray.

Will be more difficult for us next year as Wolves and Fulham will both be comfortable mid table.

Brilliant interview with Slav, he's been here another three years since he left us and seems to have made no progress at all on his English. He's answering different questions to the ones he was asked and mangling the English language, all whilst exuding a slight air of menace.

Tension between him and Andrews was great, especially when Keith tried to needle him a bit with his first two questions about not getting on with the ownership.

Really pleased for Fulham. Hopefully their star players will not move on to bigger and better things now and give Fulham a season.

  25. It's not humble pie, its 100% business for Gino.

That's why he let Slav go, and why he wouldn't hesitate to take him back if he was the right man. More of a question whether Slav would come back, I think.

  26. Villa pressed high in the 2nd half and Foolham visibly creaked

Think they will struggle with the level of pressing in the prem, think they will be entertaining but fragile

Because they are both much classier than the three that came up last season and those all survived fairly easily.

Well done to Slav, deserves a chance to finally manage in the Premier League assuming Fulham will not let him go, and I don't see why they should.

Unless Gracia does something about our away form and steps it up regarding the tactical side of the English game, with the likes of Dyche, Wagner, Slav and (love or hate him) Howe managing in the Premier League, we could be in for a serious struggle next season, but I remain faintly optimistic and look forward to some hopefully entertaining tussles with a side who score a lot of goals.

Perhaps. But the league doesn't work like that. I appreciate they are good sides, but they are entering a league with lots of good sides, all with money to burn

Disagree completely. Losing WBA, Stoke and Swansea is a massive bonus for us next year. Easiest year to stay up yet.

    Are they?

They remind me a bit of Leeds in that their first two seasons down here are very similar (midtable finish followed by play-off final defeat - now who was that to, I wonder?) but Leeds went down in a far worse state and Villa are too big to remain down there for long, easily bigger than West Ham and Newcastle, who usually bounce back pretty quickly.

Big West Midlands/ Midlands contingent now in the Championship; West Brom, Stoke, Villa , Blues, Derby - potentially Shrewsbury all spent time in the Prem also (bar Shrews) some good games coming up for the midlands, hopefully will light a fire in a few of the teams.

I don't remember London being so well represented in the top tier either. Sign of the north south divide in football these days.

He would be mad to come back. Long term prospects are much better at Fulham esp with the money behind them .
