Yes, 1 point and 1 GD behind them with 2 home games in hand!

If Wolves lose today I think 7th will be ours.

I'm confident we'll get at least a point on Monday and I'm very confident we'll beat Wolves again, and I think we'll pick up enough in the rest of our games that that'll do it.

    Wolves now losing 3-1

Starting to get excited at the prospect of going to some ******** in Belarus in August. We've got 2 chances to reach the europa league for next season although it's unlikely we'll beat city. Been my dream to base my holidays on Watford playing abroad since the carling cup semi final against Liverpool in 2005. We're all gonna shag a european whore!

Absolutely perfect day of results, and now an even bigger incentive for us to go and beat Arsenal on Monday and put ourselves firmly in the driving seat for 7th.

If Man Utd beat West Ham as you'd expect as well then you can well and truly count them out of the race.

A draw against Arsenal coupled with an inevitable victory at Huddersfield would leave us 4 clear of Everton and 3 clear of Leicester after 34 games. What a season this could be.

  22. I hope the PL take retrospective action on Andre Gomes for a shocking potential leg breaker on Mitrovitch.

Foolish to think like that- a 30 point deduction would see us in real trouble. And with our crooked foreign owners and their history of fraudulent bank letters, I'm not ruling it out fml

Just in case, rather than a post-match defeat on-pitch training session we should try an avoid it by having a double on-pitch session before kick-off?

Cardiff's defeat means we are now mathematically guaranteed not to be relegated :)
Wolves and Leicester's defeats make 7th a real chance even if we lose at home to Arsenal.

Even if they'd won and then we'd lost, 7th would still have been a real chance.

They both have tougher fixtures coming up and I was expecting these to be two of the remaining games they could have won.

Went to watch Watford v Huddersfield a few years back.

We lost and was coldest day I can ever remember at a game. Horizontal sleet

Thank f*** it is not middle of winter. Gerard D would be wearing a Woolley hat and a Parker

That game was Layuns(wrong spelling) 1st game. A few weeks before he was playing in front of 80k in Mexico in 80 degrees and then at Huddersfield in a gale force wind. It was so windy he struggled to stand up.

    Only amusing part of day.

Sorry for off topic. Few red wines

I wonder if we will be relegation favourites again next season as usual? Or maybe the pundits will apply the grudging “they’ve got enough to stay up”.

  32. Sting

No - we will be relegation favourites again - pundits want that

Agree. But it will be close. Yesterday just helped give a little room for our own error. As we get close to the Final our minds may wander.
If we could get 7 points from the next three against Arsenal, Huddersfield and Southampton it should be enough for us to get within striking difference unless the others have an inspired run.

“Overachievers last season, finishing eighth and reaching the FA Cup Final, many might be predicting good things for Javi Gracia’s Hornets. However, the loss of Abdoulaye Doucoure over the summer, coupled with Troy Deeney’s well-publicised weight problems, Gerard Deulofeu’s return to Everton, and the surprise exit of Ben Foster from the club after Huerelho Gomes was selected ahead of him at Wembley, could well see them end up nearer the bottom of the table than the top. Prediction: 18th.”

    Way too plausible and thought out;

“Watford did well I guess winning the FA Cup and finishing 7th. Could continue to do well despite European distractions but I just don’t like the tinpot club taking a Premier League place from real teams like Nottm Forest and Sunderland. Don’t even have a wonderful football playing English manager in charge. 20th.”
