[RUBBISH] Where are we in the transfer pecking order?

Our biggest frustration right now is that we haven't signed a decent striker. How many are there that we would be happy with out there that are realistic (assuming the club would fork out up to £20m). And then that got me thinking where are we in the transfer pecking order? So obviously behind the top 7 here, plus the big euro sides etc. If everyone was ranked, where (roughly) would we be in the list?

 

I'll say it before GD does: below Boro!

They've signed our third choice keeper? How much? They don't get out of bed withless than £20 million i their pocket. If it's true and he's as bad as I think he can be, I'll be really excited about this. If it's not I'm gonna be really freaking angry with Gino.

 

We are quite a long way down the transfer pecking order but nonetheless very good.

We are also perhap's a bit lower down the pecking order than last summer, due to a 17th place finish, which was down to a poor choice of head coach last summer. I think the club internally are aware of this and are slowly repairing the damage caused, but I do believe that this has impacted this summers transfer business.

Probably behind or in some cases on par with all 16 who finished above us last season. Then there's all the obvious big euro sides in Spain, Germany, France, Italy. Any side in or likely to make the champions league, and some (if good standard leagues) in the europa. Then you've got the big spending leagues like China. There are probably close to 100 clubs above us. To get that all important proven goalscorer we are going to have to bite the bullet and spend big.

 

we are in this position because of the debacle by maz. end of. it was a huge mistake to keep him till teh end of the season. we now have to rebuild. we havea manager who nearly kept a skeůeton hull up. I have faith in this manager. Our reputation which was rock bottom already has taken another hit. poor mistake by gino last year. but we move on.

In the history of Man, I'd hazard a bet that the phrase "end of" has never followed a sentence robust, intelligent and comprehensive enough to entirely end a conversation.

 

Saying that, we're probably competing with league 1 teams right now, so low are we in the pecking order. We're screwed - end of.

 

Well this fairly poor thread I started has cheered me up no end. It's the end of the end for the Hornets. End of.

 

But Gino doesn't do relegation so there's a striker out there with our name on it, Mr Pozzo is just teasing us.

It's a very difficult one - we are trying to buy players significantly better than what we have - Capoue was the first, the next level was pereyra - the problem is the better quality players think they are possibly too good for us and wait to see if other options come up. We will have other players lined up who we are letting hang on incase one of our preferred options decides to commit to us - I am sure we could sign 5 players tomorrow but not the ones that we want, and expect to improve us the most for what we can afford. We will win some and loose some as we are not prepaid to pay silly money on fees or wages like Bournemouth seem to do - one things for certain the Pozzos are dab hands at this transfer window stuff.

 

Not convinced that that is "for certain" at all, frankly.
