We haven’t got enough depth to do anything different to what has already been said really…the injury to Shittu highlights why Aidy was after another CB. I’d have Hendo and Young upfront, Macca on the left (this is his chance to prove himself) and Smith on the right. Macca is our best at crossing, Hendo the best at heading so they should both be on against Wigan and Fulham imo. But If I was Aidy I’d play serious thought to the idea of bringing Priskin on with 25/30 minutes to go if things were not going well.
His asset is his heading ability, but he's had few chances from crosses, Macca is more likely to set him up. Don't lose faith in Hendo, he got us 14 goals last season, he does lack technical ability but he gives it his all. Smith, is no better at finishing than Hendo, and I don't think Priskin is ready yet (or he would have played by now).

to be honest, without bouazza and shittu,, our squad looks very depleted, but i think the squad above is good enough to earn us points. Id prefer hendo to priskin, because he must get that 1st goal, and hes getting close, it must be frustrating COME ON YOU 'ORNS!!! ;D

Poor Priskin has had to watch a centre back (Shittu) get a nod up front ahead of him, when he is banging in goals at international level, and you can say he's not good enough but how will he become good enough if he doesn't get games? And maybe Hendo should be dropped to get a kick up the ****... Our problem is this... as my (Geordie) Uncle pointed out at Newcastle, we get plenty of chances in front of goal, but when we get there no one wants to take responsibility of the shot, Bang Bang tried against Liverpool and Arsenal, and yes he skyed it, but at least he's trying. I also feel Lee has performed better (and let in less) than Foster, thus deserves the starting place (you can say the clean sheets were against smaller teams but he has confidence, controls his box and actually comes off his line!) I also think we have played better keeping the ball on the floor, rather than that route 1 carp...
agreed david. is it just me or have we changed our style recently. from newcastle onwards i feel we haven't been hoofing it as much and playing it on the deck a bit more. would still keep foster in goal though and he does come off his line. hes almost like a sweeper sometimes!

I wouldn't play Henderson for the simple reason our tactic is too one dimensional when he plays! This isn't his fault but when he plays we just tend to lump the ball down the middle! We need to keep doing what we did first half against Arsenal, that's getting the ball into the channels and the two strikers using their pace and movement! I'd put Macca on the left wing, Ashley back on the right wing where I believe is most effective, and have Tommy and Doris up front.
To be fair none of our other players exactly score on a regular basis although I would like to see Priskin get another chance as he is young and will only improve by getting games.
