Today I learned that you can cook potato waffles, even frozen ones in a toaster.
As the orifice has a microwave as well that's beans & waffles for lunch. Kicks the posterior of a Sainsburys meal deal.

I learnt that switching my usual subway bread order (Italian Herbs & Chesse) to their new garlic cheesy bread was a big mistake

Just finished working on a project over pre-season to learn where + how each team in the Championship concedes their goals from corners from. It's then possible to see if there are any common areas that are weak between teams that use the same defensive setup. Flagged up some interesting insights so far and should help wreck teams next season. Not interesting or remotely useful for anyone else, but that wasn't the question.

I learnt not to turn up at work in shorts "because the sun's out" and expect anything but ridicule.

4 shots of 6/12 on the control I'd say about 7 mins in total.
It's all about the honey oat. Every other bread type there is mediocre in comparison.
Given your knees I would have though that shorts any time any place would have been a no no.

My knees are fine but my hairless shins are very much a conversation piece. Apparently about 1 in 10 guys lose hair on their shins .....came up on QI a few years back. I AM NOT A FREAK !

Hey Meister, try cooking bacon in the microwave, just put it on a normal plate and cook for approx 3 mins for 4 rashers, that does it for me, but you can obviously adjust timing for your taste.

My socks aren't that long ! It's a common thing. Bet loads of the 45+ guys on here have less or no hair on their lower shins now. Quick straw poll ?

1000 thanks. I'm having a new kitchen put in at the moment and have a toaster and a microwave only. This is lifesaving information.

Get a George Foreman grill as well. Precisely why I bought mine. Microwave chips are passable and you can do steak and chips then.

Today in the office with just a toaster, a microwave and a George Foreman grill I managed to cook Sausage Beans and Waffles for two people.

I learned that when taking some grannies shopping, I should check carefully what is already in the fridge rather than relying on the shopping list they've written out. They are not very good at spotting duplicates and are creatures of habit when it comes to ordering.

We bought a cucumber today, because it was on the list.

When I went to put it in the fridge, I found five other cucumbers of assorted dates going back to the start of April, in varying states of decomposition and all still in their plastic wrappers and completely untouched.

    Sadly true.

Not bald in that department but definitely moulting has occurred.

In contrast, my sons’ shins scream ‘family pet’.

You mean you have met my mother and you lived to tell the tale?!
I wear shorts to work in this weather and I'm not a footballer, unless it's part of the warm up,that is!
I learned that my colleague is even more insufferable when it comes to diagnosing first aid problems than he is on Triumph Herald witterings.
A rather portly chap went down as if hit by a sniper just as I was finishing my last lesson at 1.15pm.
My colleague had a feel of his leg* and announced "he hasn't snapped his achilles,I can still feel it".
I advised him to shut the **** up as a county colleague who is also a physio misdiagnosed an achilles injury on court years back. If a professional can be wrong,so can a tennis coach who does a first aid course every two years.
He was still prattling on about the time his achilles ruptured when I left at 1,40pm.
On reflection I think I prefer the Triumph Herald tales.
    * Apologies for such an unappealing image.

I learnt that in Italy you can go on a train with a wife and 3 kids and be ignored by everyone sitting down leaving you all grabbing onto each other to stay upright.

Great for family holiday bonding but Forza Italia can feck off....
