They were featured in an extremely terrifying episode of "The Octonauts":

Yep, it seems totally out of character for the pozzo's to be so open like this.

Oh well, it was quite good while it lasted, even their era lacked any real achievements that will stand the test of time. Failure to win the championship trophy really did ruin their legacy.

how did she manage to kill them then, if they are such hard cases?

This is just a bog standard interview. Duxbury has done plenty of interviews like this in the past. As I mentioned before, this just a reinforcement of the model Watford use. It's no secret, just common sense.

The only new bits, were the funny stories around EJ's text and the Qunia transfer.

I don't read this as a looking to sell piece, although they are open to outside investors coming in. But I believe that door has always been open.

The Pozzo family has a passion for trading players. This is where they see the money is. They have steered Watford into a position where they can make some serious money. Ok, they could sell up for £350m and that is huge, but then that will only ever be a one time deal. It's like owning a rental house. You could sell it and cash in, or you can keep it, let it increase in value and still make money on rental income.

The way I see it, the Pozzo's know they could cash in any time and make a huge profit, but why do that, when their passion and business is trading players. They know they can make huge profits in player trading, so I do not see why they would consider selling the club, when it's in the exactly the right place to make some serious money over a long period of time. If/when they ever get tired of football, and I can see there is a burn-out in having to deal with agents 24*7, then this is when they will sell and get out of the football business.

Gino is still a young man, so I don't foresee that going to happen anytime in the near or midterm future. Once he gets to his father's age, then maybe that will be the time to get out.

This would have made an excellent research project *BUT* research funding was only available for those with *at least* a 2.i.

I doubt they would ever get a better valuation than now. Buy in Nov with almost certainty that you will still be in the prem the following season.
They are clearly hell-bent on selling us at max value before investing 1% of the funds into the purchase of L****.

As mentioned elsewhere, I don’t think it can be a coincedence that the piece is in the FT - hardly known for its sport section is it? Bearing in mind it was The Times that ‘broke’ the story of the potential 33% US investors a couple of months back, IMO this is a very clear ploy to advertise for investment in the club whilst letting people know the ‘business’ is currentky flourishing and the owners aren’t looking for a full sale (although money talks obviously).

    Quite clever really.

Having read the article I for one am prepared to post a crisp £10 note to Mr Duxbury in return for a 95% share of the business.

Having read the article, I for one am going to pull up to London Colney with my agent on Tuesday morning and get signed.

(My agent will be my wife, I’m crap but don’t worry....I have a work permit, valid passport and I actually exist unlike a ‘Penaranda’. Whatever that is.)

Not if they reinvest in another club.

Trading is about churning, buying low & selling high. It's what they do with players, so why not with clubs?

It has happened with Granada, with the subsequent rumours of another Spanish purchase.

Finding another prospect, a la WFC in 2012, is of course the tricky bit.

Rather than sell us completely, selling off a minority stake, freeing up cash & reinvesting in a smaller outfit somewhere makes sense.

What profit/dividend payout does Pozzo receive? Unless there's some canny engineering around the dividend, WFC won't generate much cash each year. Player costs & investment in the ground/Colney/etc absorb it. In which case, a sale (partial or otherwise) is the only way Pozzo will be able to invest elsewhere.

90% of our transfers in are foreign lads.

Which will be your chosen 'flag of convenience'?

Canadian might be safer than a more exotic one. Say 'Oot' & weave Wayne Gretzky into the chat.

Maybe best to mooch around with your hoodie up, listening to your tunes, whilst the boss lady does the talking.

It was a little personal that one.

    Isn't Heaton now Burnley's 3rd choice?

SEJ better do some quick talking to show that it was merely a ploy to derail Dyche's season.

On family driving holidays, there used to be a thing that Percy Sledge was locked in the boot.

An odd foreshadowing of the Holebas Episode.

For an undergrad project do you even need to produce original research? Pretty sure you could produce something markable even just by recording the experiments and observing and evaluating the outcome, bulked up with a decent literature review. To come out with nothing seems like the student was massively failed by the department.

Yes you do. It's a very important part of your scientific "training".

It wasn't my call as I was far too "down the food-chain" *but* I seem to remember that at that University the project was "about" 50% of the final year mark (and was taken so seriously that finals were taken in the first week of term so that the the entire period could be focussed on project work). I think they even "bent" their rules so that she was given the option of writing a dissertation so that she could graduate with "something".

Don't forget this was the "good old days" of students - not "customers" - I'm certain that this wouldn't happen "now" in the world of £9K fees...
