Werewolf XVI: Day 5

Re read my posts from yesterday and today. I called it perfectly - if I'm wrong kill me off on Monday.

 

The first message is the seer. It's pretty obvious who the seer is too. To me it is anyway.

 

Harrow, that's harsh. A dislike for me :'(

Akin to shooting the messenger.

 

Well I've just got in and read through all the posts. That second message certainly shakes things up a bit. Like on day 1 it's pretty much impossible to know which message is from who, apart from suggestions on who it would benefit more to post first/second. For me, it makes sense for the wolf to post second: in the morning he would've waited to see if there were any seers left, possibly in the hope that there would be none. Once a post was made he decided to leave it be in the hope people believed that with no second message the one message was a trick from the wolf. However with people beginning to vote along the lines of the first message he popped up to try and swing the vote. Either way we'll find out if one is good/evil, and then can choose to lynch the other if they turn out to be good. But for today I'm voting for Moog.

 

I must have missed something, probably my fault as ive not been active enough. is it a stylistic thing?

 

Is it weird that I've cared more about this today than us having a new manager?

 

im going to make the defining vote. ive read this thread about 5 times now, it has to be you today moog. if your good then it has to be harrow next Monday.

It's easy to say you've called it perfectly but with vague and infrequent posts. I can't see how you can have more evidence than anyone else other than a main character and if you're a very good role, you haven't managed to assure me that you know owt more than the rest of us.

However, I am open to hearing your compelling evidence in the next 15 minutes before I vote and go out for a few delicious pints of heavy.

 

Opti, here's my reasoning as to why the first message is a seers message.

My vote is now academic but despite reservations about both Moog and Harrow being evil, I'm going with the theory that the Seer is more likely to have posted first today. It reads more like a new seer than a gambling wolf and the wolf may have gained more by having no messages or one late one to cause havoc if we had started voting a wolf off. Therefore, I'm voting Moog. If he is good but not a tinker, Harrow will surely be a goner on Monday.

 

Sounds good to me.

Unless... The second message miraculously is from the seer and I'm a tinker. And the first message is from a wolf. Small chance but you never know and it's something to keep in mind.

You let the evil players lead the agenda and then one of them nailed you all to the floor with a message. You're like marionettes dancing whilst wolfy paws pull your strings.

Evil well deserves its win as team good has ****ed itself truly. You will all see and your apologies will be too late.

Both Moog and Harrow claiming they're good even after the vote is over. Saving grace or is one of them the tinker? I hope not.

Squibba, HH24 and merchandiseman41 all haven't voted. But as the result is a foregone conclusion I'm tempted to close the village and the poll now, and get the write-up scene online. Considering it's a Friday night I'm not so sure the above three will actually even vote in the next half hour anyway.

You won't see any of their voting intentions if I do this, but they may as well all vote for anyone now anyway as their votes mean nothing. So voting for someone now as a tactic or whatever for later in the game is as good as having no registered vote and saying 'I'd've voted for x', I reckon. Hope everyone agrees.

I'll give it 10 minutes and then the village will close and the dusk scene will be up straight away.

I'm going to self immolate in the village square in protest at the treatment of Buddhists in the village and spoil the lynching party.

Okay, I'm closing this down early. Get ready.

 

The village found itself all occupying the pub. Without Jellyman running it, the palce had been open all hours, and villagers would come and go, pulling their own pints from the ever diminishing barrels, and drinking HeppyHornet’s bottled mojito.

Merchandiseman41 was glaring at Harrow Orn over his pint of porter. Harrow Orn was breathing deeply, contented. Optimistichornet nodded towards Harrow.

“This is it then, is it?” wfcmoog was straight-faced, deadpan. Self-immolation was still a possibility.

“Afraid so,” said WatfordTalk, looking up from the Cassiobury Chronicle.

“Give that here,” moog gestured towards Talk. “The paper.” Moog collected the paper from Talk. “Abso, where have you been the last couple of days? Because this paper is shocking. You can’t have been doing much.”

Abso frowned.

“I could do a job here. I don’t mind. You could lock me up somewhere, but just don’t lynch me. You could lock me away in a room. I could write a food column or something. You haven’t got a food column, have you?”

“Actually, we were in talks with Oxhey Hornet about a weekly pie piece, but we couldn’t agree on a fee. I suppose it is a niche we need to fill to be honest, do you know much about food?”

“WHAT are you ON ABOUT?” Harrow Orn yelled. “We can’t lock him away, he’s a WOLF!” Harrow was at a loss. “What did we just spend the whole of today voting for? It wasn’t a job interview, this was a lynch vote! We have to kill him.”

“Alright, easy, easy…” moog spoke with a calmness now. “I could have taught you a thing or two, that’s all. I experiment.”

WAS stepped forward. “Actually, this reminds me. Could I dictate something for you quickly please, Abso? For tomorrow’s edition.” WAS looked around at the faces in the room. “Oh… Okay.. so here it is: A formal planning application has now been submitted for the proposed housing development on Woodside Road in Abbots Langley.
The plans which have been put forward by Taylor Wimpey include the construction of 95 houses and flats, which is a reduced number from the 140 houses they proposed at the end of last year, but one resident commented on the application saying they were quote “bewildered" end quote as to how the application is seriously being considered.”

“F*** off.” More than one person said that at about the same time.

Mojitos were passed around once more by HH24. Silent nods were exchanged. This was a sullen party.

“moog, you played a good game, but the writing was on the wall from early on today.” Harrow was ever so slightly smug. “Good luck, and I hope this doesn’t hurt too much.” Harrow nodded at PhilippineOrn.

PhilippineOrn took out his butcher’s knife and chopped at moog’s torso and face, while the assembled villagers stared in disbelief. Was this what the village had come to? Gruesomely killing off villager after innocent villager? These truly were dark days. The werewolves had infected the village, and the villagers were happy to sink to their level, every single evening. Death and more death.

Hacking away, PhilippineOrn’s white butcher’s jacket became covered in blood quite quickly. As no one was really watching the scene unfold, it took some time for the color of that blood to really register. The smell was getting quite sharp though, which was unusual.

Abso looked over at the bags of Avon gear that moog had brought along for him after his late will-change. “God bless you,” he whispered.

Standing back up, PhilippineOrn’s face went from a pale greenish revulsion to rosy cheeked celebration in an instant. As he looked down at his top, and at the floor beneath him, he saw that the stains were dark. Very dark.

wfcmoog was EVIL.

The village now have a day to kill off their final enemy before the full moon converts one of their own…
