    And then there five.

Paranoia had now turned to panic in the village, no one could be trusted not even the closest of allies. Messages had been posted all over town and scrutinized to the the most minute detail.

Daft Row had spent many hours over the past week connecting the dots before he could finally conclude who he thought the wolf is. Confident in his knowledge he strode into the village to confront the suspect.

    *********************************

Hornetgags was skulking around town looking for any clues. Here and there he would see claw marks either in walls or doors and began to follow them along the streets. The gashes and gouges intensified as he neared the village green. He quickened his pace still trying his best to remain in the shadows.

He was nearly at the green when he heard the church bell start to ring in a frantic manner. It was almost as if it was a warning of some sort. He rounded the final corner and there before him on the other side of the green was the village church, the front door slightly ajar and a bloody dripping paw print on the door.

Gags approached the door very carefully, looking cautiously over his shoulder to make sure he was alone. He crept into the church and began his way towards the bell tower. The internals of the church was a mess, the pulpit had been smashed to bits and various bits of offal were scattered over the altar.

Gags felt repulsed by both the smell and the desecration but he knew he had to find out who was ringing the bells. He opened the door to the bell tower and was confronted with a wall of silence. The bells had stopped ringing.

Gags gulped as he ascended the stairs with his back flat against the wall. Something was up there waiting for him he thought to himself. He pulled a flashlight out of his pocket as a makeshift weapon as he neared the door at the top of the stairs.

Readying himself for the unknown, he gripped the door handle taking deep shallow breaths.
"Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh" he screamed as he burst through the door. Inside the bell room the bell remained dormant and there was not a single person in the room. There was a control panel blinking furiously.
"Bloody thing is broken."he said to himself.

There was a loud bang from below him. He realised he was not alone. He looked around to see if there was anywhere to hide in the empty room. Panicking he climbed up inside the bell wrapping himself around the clapper. The ancient bell yoke groaned under the strain but held firm. For now.

Gags could hear numerous foot steps coming up the stairs as well as muffled voices. He began to sweat as his nerves over took his emotion.

The door to the room opened and he could make out the voices of Daft Row, Happy and Horace. There was another voice he could not quite make out.

"We know you are in here, don't make this any harder for yourself." Roared Daft Row.
"We have your co conspirator here and we know what you did." Happy continued.
"Horace, turn on the bell." Daft demanded motioning to Horace.

Gags heard footsteps towards moving towards the control panel knowing the game is up. But still he hung on to the clapper with clear determination. The control panel beeped three times as Horace chose the settings. The bell began to slowly swing, crashing Gags against the sides with s thud with each movement.

The yoke creaked any groaned under immense strain.
"Faster." Daft demanded. Another couple of beeps and speed began to increase.
The yoke screamed in protest before finally beginning to splinter. Gags was still holding strong when the yoke finally gave way.

The bell crashed through the floor and plummeted to floor below with an almighty clang. Poor old gags didn't have a chance.

"That bell was fast, was an easy killing." Horace taunted. They peered into the void below at the prone Gags who was quite clearly dead. There was no change in his body just a notepad next to him.

    Hornetgags was very good.

Daft gulped, he had realised his terrible error. The wolf and the traitor smiled at him as they grabbed him and threw him down the hole to meet his end by the bell.

    Daft Row was good.

They next rounded Opti who screamed as they approached.

    Opti was good.

    Evil had won.

  4. Dom, have loved these write ups. Really well written and quite clever.

I particularly liked Norns demise. "If I die another will rise in my place."
