    Meh! Pre-Dictator

So well done team EVIL! A particularly fiendish win.

It's been thoroughly entertaining being the Mod. Knowing all the roles and watching you all flail around with no idea was really rather funny, and was good to see each persons take on their role while knowing who they are.

Poor Squibba as the Seer just couldn't get anyone Evil so really had nothing to go on, and Cthulhu as the Alpha Weredeer played really well with his very well timed messages and in-game comments.

Also Mike was really going for Squibba at the start thinking he was evil and wanting him eliminated when he voted about 4 minutes late one of the days. I was thinking "Bloody hell Mike, keep quiet, I'm doing you a favour letting him remain!" Made me chuckle to myself.

Special mentions go out to Rudolph the Guardian for 2 successive saves when there was really not too much to go on, and steve harrow who had the Alpha pegged pretty much from the start but no one listened to him.

    ---------------------------------------------------------------

    So the roles:

    Alpha Weredeer - Cthulhu
    Beta Weredeer - HappyHornet24
Jack Frost (The Tinker) - Harrow Orn
Santa Claus (The Seer) - Squibba
    Rudolph (The Guardian) - Grrwood
    Mason (Snowman) - steve harrow
    Mason (Snowman) - Jellyman
    Mason (Snowman) - Optimistichornet
    Villager - hornetgags
    Villager - Miked2006
    Villager - Darave8
    Villager - Otter
    Villager - Diamond
    Villager - Fuxtix
    Villager - Steve Leo Beleck
    Villager - Cassetti's Beard

    ---------------------------------------------------------------

I left a few hints and clues in the write ups but only regarding eliminated players and not about still active villagers. The conclusions drawn from some regarding Mrs Ploddlewood's connection to HH24 was just reading into something that wasn't intended!

'This was a work of fiction. Names, characters, places and incidents either were products of the author’s imagination or were used fictitiously. Any resemblance to actual events or locales or persons, living or dead, was entirely coincidental!'

    Lynching 1

    - First day and not much to say apart from the standard "Opti was quite good" part indicting he was more than a standard villager - the first Mason.

    Night 1

    - No hints and was 2 'simple villager' kills.

    - I did lay out the Alpha first, Beta second kill routine though.

    Lynching 2

    - Again a simple villager so no real hints needed.

    Night 2

    - Only 1 kill - just a simple villager. (The Weredeers had killed 3 simple villagers in the first 2 nights.).

    - I mentioned the "second wolf" to indicate it was again the Beta kill second.

    Lynching 3

    - "As for Jellyman, just when team GOOD needed everyone to step up, one of the Team went AWOL. One can only hope this hasn't affect their chances of turning this aroung and beating team EVIL". "One of the Team" - I used a capital T here rather than earlier in the sentence - the masons. "One can only hope..." = there was only 1 left - steve harrow.

    Night 3

    - HarrowOrn was initially mistakenly seen as EVIL by HH24 through the window. Then was revealed as GOOD when they went inside. The Tinker! I thought this was really obvious :(

    - The second kill showed the wolf seeing "an unfamiliar red glow filled the room", confirming it was the Beta wolf who handn't yet fought Rudolph.

    Lynching 4

    - The pig in the brick house that got blown down. He was the third little pig. The last Mason.

    Night 4

    - 'While shepherd watched their flock' intro was about the Guardian. I intentionally removed the 's' from shepherds to indicate it was the 1, the Guardian.

    - The clock freezing on 27:42 is Matthew 27:42 - "He saved others,” they said, “but he can't save himself!".

    - "You?!" quaked Grrwood. "But I was going t..." hinting that Grrwood was going to unsuspectingly protect the Alpha that night.

    ---------------------------------------------------------------

Part of the reason I took this on was to help me get a better understanding of the roles and to get more experienced at playing and I think this has really helped so would recommend being a mod for a game if you want to learn a bit more, as well as the fact that it is a lot of fun.

We do need to come up with a pre-game solution on the Alpha/Seer messages being left and people not participating/voting.

On this occasion and as Mod I felt the game was progressing fairly enough and the non-participants weren't playing tactically as team Evil so I wanted to give them a second chance to stay in the game.

I also felt happy with Cthulhu's message participation as it was a fair tactic on the first 2 days, and it was he who posted the first message on the third day confusing you all. On the first 2 days, why draw attention to yourself when literally no-one has named you. I suggested in the cemetery that if the Weredeer wasn't posting then maybe the villagers should look at the people not in the firing line as the Weredeer would only keep quiet if it felt safe.

I'm looking forward to being a player next time but will definitely run one again as was much fun. Next time, now I have a little more experience, I'll increase the role type a little as suggested in thread to include perhaps a Traitor and a Martyr.

I'll also write up a few lynching/kill scenes before the game starts. Writing them on the fly is good in one way in that it allowed me to tie in a few stories around each other and the days play and involve some of the characters occupations more (and I've always been better writing things under pressure), but is not ideal due to some unexpected things coming up. I often really struggled to get something out at a decent time, a late night or 2 was involved. Having a handful of backups would have really helped.

Anyway, well played all and thanks for participating in what was a short but entertaining game.

    Cheers all.

Also, I dont see a problem with the Alpha Wolf not posting a message. Its a good tactic and clearly worked well.

Cheers Meh! Love the write up.

I just took a look back through day 5. I wonder what may have happened if Squibba had named himself Seer in his message?

Thanks Meh. You did very well indeed and I think we all had fun!
Can you confirm which message was from whom?

My greatest fear. I suspect I would have said something about it being a despicable and desperate wolf trick and then let the uncertainty do the rest before reluctantly voting to lynch him after others had done so

    All messages so far...

    Day 1

    Anonymous Message #1 Seer

After much deliberation and very little to go off I decided to view an experienced Werewolf player MikeD because if anyone can play the game well it'd be him.

I can confirm he is indeed GOOD! Sorry I've got nothing else today but as you can imagine on Day 1 it was difficult. Day 2

Anonymous Message #1 received at 7.30am Seer

I decided to view Grrwood after checking Meh's profile page and Grrwood is GOOD. Grrwood was the only one to publicly respond to Meh's initial roll call Private Message on the 2nd Dec, with a visitor message stating he could PM but why would that be important, unless he had an non-villager role? But I was wrong.

Unfortunately, that's how little I have right now, I was tossing between Cassetti's Beard on purely just a hunch and Jellyman & Darave due to super low activity in one case and absence in the other.

I can only apologise as it's not much but I did my best to try to at least justify my viewing with rational. Day 3

    Anonymous message #1 Wolf

I viewed Jellywood because we don't have much to go on still. But unfortunately for us it turns out he is GOOD.

I choose him on the basis that he has low activity and this raises my suspicion.

    Anonymous message #2 Seer

    Hey,

I took my viewing late last night and like I said, I had a hunch on Cassetti's Beard so I decided to view him and he is indeed GOOD. I didn't send my message straight away because I wanted the Wolf to make his or hers first move, lo and behold they did clearing "Jellywood". I'll assume they meant Jellyman and not Grrwood but since we already know Grrwood is good, I suggest lynching Jellyman tonight because at least that will clear up which message was from the Wolf and which was from the Seer. Unless the first message from the Wolf is in fact a double bluff?

We need a kill tonight. Day 4

    Anonymous message #1 Seer

    Hey,

Yes I know, I was wrong yesterday. I honestly thought Jellyman was Evil and hope you can understand my reasoning for believing so. The first message yesterday was definitely not from me so we are dealing with a clever wolf.

So far I can confirm out of the players left - Grrwood & Cassetti's Beard are both Good from preview viewings.

I also have my suspicions about Squibba who seems to be stirring quite a bit and his solo vote for Jellyman, even though he was being lynched anyway due to inactivity, stunk a little. He is definitely my next viewing unless Day 4 throws a spanner in the works.

However in the end, down to another gut feeling I viewed Steve Harrow and AT LAST I got a bloody EVIL. One down, one to go, let's do a Liverpool in '05 and turn this around Team Good!

    Anonymous message #2 Wolf

    Hey,

I have waited and gone second today, I wanted to see what the weredeer would put. Predictably he/she has AT LAST found an EVIL and scattered that with a few facts that we already know to make it seem believable.

My viewing of Jellyman yesterday was proven correct.

Like the weredeer I suspect Squibba, unlike the weredeer I am not then going to jump randomly to someone else to view. Squibba has come on a few people’s radar at times in the last few days. So more logically than the weredeer I viewed him.

And the results of the Laplandish jury – SQUIBBA is EVIL. We do have a chance to turn this around TEAM GOOD but we need to make the right choice!

Wait - the seer named Steve Harrow evil? Did I miss something?

Oh yeah. That doesn't make sense if he was a mason???
Did he get confused with harrowhorn? Will have to ask Squibba, otherwise it is a weird bluff or Meh! should know who he actually viewed on day 4

  11. Meh!

    Meh! Pre-Dictator

Squibba gambled on a lie. He viewed another GOOD and with nothing else to go on and I think a 50/50 chance, he chose a name he hadn't actually viewed in the hope of guessing an EVIL.

I take issue being referred to as a simple villager!

I take issue with being eaten on the first night.

That's it, next game I'm voting for Cthulhu and HappyHornet24 out of spite...that'll learn ya...and I hope I gave you the runs...there, I said it.

Bizarre idea but then I would say that! The seer and a mason named evil on the same day meant I was certain the message about me was from the wolf.
