    Theres always hope!

We are 4 points behind Sheffield United. The next 3 or 4 games are massive for us. We can make up those 4 points quite easily.

Yesterday we missed Ashley Young and we missed Bouazza, and we defentily missed Marlon up front. Chris Morgan had a field day yesterday with Henderson, it was easy for him. I was unhappy with Hendo yesterday, simply because I felt he could have put himself about more. Yes, he was on his own but if he really ruffled Morgans feathers I think we could have created far more chances than we did.

    Role on Manchester City!

I would hardly say we can make them up easily!

Man City (a) 2-0 (silly errors at the back and nothing upfront)
Reading (h) 0-0 (again nothing upfront)
Newcastle (a) 1-1 (not bad result)
    Liverpool (a) 3-0 (rolled over)
    Arsenal (h) 0-2 (rolled over)

I'm usually optimistic but last night's game proves to me we have no chance of survival, we're too naive, we're not ruthless infront of goal and we make too many individual errors that you get punished for at this level!

Aidy said he'll only start to worry when the chances dry up...well playing one upfront at home to sheffield frigging utd is hardly going to create chances Aidy, so if i was you i'd be worried, because I certainly am!!

I'm more concerned today than I was yesterday, but we saw last season how quickly bad results can turn into good ones. This team seems better when playing game after game after game. Rests between matches appear to do us more harm than good. I'm not giving up hope yet, it's a funny old game this.

ok ok.. I admit saying it will be "easy" was the wrong word to use.

But Manchester City, Reading and Newcastle are all definatly beatable. Its these teams that we need to pick up points against. ;D

The thing is though it's all well and good saying 'we all know how quickly results can change'...i just can't see how! We have nothing upfront, we make too many silly errors at the back due to poor concentration at times and when we do create a chance we spurn it!

I can't see us staying up now...i think Sheffield Utd may survive, they looked hungry, well organised, good down the wings and THEY WEREN'T NAIVE!!! Meaning they knew when the right time was to run the clock down, when to feign injury, when to dive etc etc! We're too honest for our own good and i made a thread about this on the 'fishal MB before it closed down!

Aidy needs to get back into the real world and stop talking crap about us aiming for Europe etc etc

Warnock admitted in the summer they would be in a relegation battle and they are....he also summed it up perfectly last night by saying to his players 'if you want to stay up you need to win here'...so true! That's now Foolham and Sheff utd we've dropped points to AT HOME! Not good enough - fact!

I didnt actually see the game due to work but managed to sneak out of a restaurant and into a pub for the final ten minutes and that spell of football said it all to me.

At home, 0-0 10 mins to go against a team we are equal or better than....

We should have been pummelling their box and giving them hell.

    Pathetic and no excuses.

I understand that financially you have to be careful but its so damn hard to get into this league that when you get here, I trully believe its worth the risk spending a few quid more than you want to, to stay in it.

Taylor did the same in 99-00.. straight down and then the money was wasted trying to get back in it.

We need to spend IMO AT THE VERY LEAST £5million if not £10million in January and what ever we can that'll improve our squad.

Thats peanuts if it means we stay up.

And if we go down, well surely we'd be back to square one??? (albeit with a slightly higher wage bill??)

    More than £5m!

Marcus Bent - £3M.... Carlos Edwards £2.5M....Pearson £1M, or maybe more if were not the only team after him (if we do go after him)

Marcus Bent for £3,000,000? Errrr nah!

    £1,500,000 MAXIMUM, otherwise look elsewhere!
