I think you will find you are wrong on all counts. Deeney was annoyed at just conceding that howler and took it out on the small guy. Typical Troy moment, get your head out of the sand man.

By way of an apology you can click the link in my sig and send me some cash, cheers.

So no clear evidence then? Just your opinion. Cool.

Deeney clearly meant to hassle and harrass the player on the ball, as he did this Torreira passed the ball. Deeney looks like he's avoiding just running through Torreria by skipping through, like getting past a pedestrian walking slowly on a narrow path whilst carrying a coffee.

He did catch him on his face with his arm, but it wasnt an elbow. Refs seen it differently.

I'm hearing that its going to be an extended ban for 6 games based on spite.

Have they appealed and when do we hear ?
Taking Mrs TuT and her dad to the Wolves game and she will be devastated if Troy's not playing. She likes her men well built and he's almost as "fit" as I am.

Strange looking elbow that, Deeney should see a doctor if that's where his elbow is.

Had the Arsenal player been 5'10+ it'd not have even been considered a foul.

I've now watched it several times. People are certainly going to be influenced by their agendas. It's certainly a foul. Because there is head contact I can see a yellow, but I could also see not giving one. It looks to me like Deeney pulls away a bit from the arm-to-Torreira contact a bit as if to avoid pummeling him. I've certainly seen hundreds of players sweep the arm more aggressively or even extend it more aggressively. How the authorities will see it is anyone's guess. If it were me I'd go yellow. I certainly don't see anyone looking at it and saying "Clearly this is a frivolous appeal because he obviously meant to do him". Football is a contact sport.

Did they add an extra game ban as well, I would not be surprised if they have

Quote: "Javi Gracia says Watford have lost appeal against TD's red card in defeat to Gooners" end quote. Rumour is he said it was amazing, but that' might be me being silly.
Nothing about an extra game ban so not a frivolous appeal, but there's not enough to over turn refs original decision.

  13. Not according to the Wobby.

Although their report claimed that the club "would be without their Captain for the next three days."

I'd be surprised if they had reduced it to one match though...

Picture clearly shows his arm hitting his face on the follow through after elbowing him. Cheers for this and I hope it ends any argument about this Deeney moment.

The only way I think it could have been overturned would have been proof of no contact with the face at all.

  17. I reckon, because I like reckoning stuff for no real reason, that, if the incident was retrospectively being considered as a possible red card where one had NOT been given, that the 'panel' would not have considered it to be a red.

I think the panel have simply decided that it was within the ref's scope to give a red for that, in which case I can understand their decision.

I don't think it was even near a red, but I accept it was not unreasonable for the officials to have considered it so.

Get ready for a forearm to the face of a Watford player coming up where the ref doesn’t even book the opposition player then.

In reality it was a pretty dumb thing for Troy to do. If anything it just looks like he’s picking on a poor short kid.

Not an elbow, not a red card, definitely stupid, definitely play acting as arsenal were doing all evening. Got to cover up how **** they are somehow.

It is time Deeney learned to keep his mouth zipped. His "Cojones" remark re Arsenal first time and "Whacking" this time made him a marked man and he only has himself to blame. With a 3 game suspension it is entirely possible that he has cost us 7th place.

the 'whacking' comments originated from 2017 just regurgitated, as they will do each year and each year he will be asked about them and honest Troy will say it again.

It clearly does show that, on the follow through after a closed fisted jab, headbutt and we can see that Deeney is winding up for an unprovoked crippler cross face, due to the stance and position of his shoulders.

It's some sort of bizarro world, where I read people actually looking at that and arguing it's a red. I understood arsenal fans doing it, because to a man, they are gob***** idiots with zero value to their opinions, but if that happens in a game between Burnley and huddersfield, a booking happens at most. Moreover, if Lukaku had done it, it would 100% be o'er turned

I don't think it was a dumb thing to do. The comments he made were dumb as they have probably influenced refs more than his on pitch actions.

Absolutely right, agree entirely, Why Gracica does not take him to one side and tell him to shut the fk up is beyond me.

    Craig Pawson (Watford v Arsenal)

Craig has had a poor season, he’s been like a rabbit in the headlights. When there’s a big decision to be made he’s always looking for help and that for me is not violent conduct. It’s a reckless use of the arm, Troy Deeney runs the risk but you expect referees at that level to pick that up. Lucas Torreira’s made a meal of it and he’s helped get Deeney sent off. It’s not an act of violent conduct for me.

Deeney takes huge credit for having reinvented himself more often than David Bowie.

But I do find it difficult to support a club captain who regularly gets sent off & regularly makes provocative comments to the press which bring no benefit to his employer.

The negative parts of the package struggle to outweigh the positive.

Does he regularly get sent off? 3 red in 9 seasons over 368 appearances. 4 if you add the Joe Allen thing.

2 times last season & once this, I believe.

Maybe he feels he has to put in more ‘passion’ to counterbalance his lesser goals output.

Leeds in 2013. Then Huddersfield last season and Arsenal this. Plus the handbags with Joe Allen last season too, which was dealt with retrospectively. Hardly prolific.

    More than Lukaku or Kane.

For me, I'll take him as he is.

I wonder in 10 years from now what he'll be like? Probably 10 stone over weight with a regular spot on talksport dissing Arsenal.

Not sure there’s much comparison with Lukaku, who has a different role in Man Utd’s setup, but Saint Harry should have been sent off a couple of times in recent years but for inexplicable leniency from PL refs.
