Turned on yesterday to see Amrabat running down the side, looked good but still can’t cross
Turned on today to see the end of Denmark vs Peru , commentators said carilllo has been excellent (I assume he has gone back now)

Carillo was good, Amrabat looked ok. I'm really interested to see how Ighalo does later, still my dark horse for the golden boot if the Super Eagles can soar he'll be the one getting the goals. Layuns also on the scene and sgb David Connelly is punditrying on talksport.

Good point will be supporting Nigeria as still have a soft spot for Ighalo but think they have their work cut out for them

Watford are at the World Cup? Jokes when they realise we can’t win or score away and they play the whole tournament on that basis.

Well they have all managed to lose in various ways so clearly taken their WFC experience to the World Cup !

Carrillo was Peru's best player. Easily 3 wows. He was never so involved for us. Still lost.

Amrabat was subbed off for his brother. He took a nasty knock to his huge noggin. His brother cost them the game.

Ighalo's Nigeria were awful. He was isolated and even at 2 nil down they were breaking forward with one man in the box. They needed Success swaggering about with some Irish Cream.

When is Belkalem playing? Is Ranegie in the Swedish team?

Indeed, Carrillo was very good, but he never put in that much effort when playing for us.

Seeing Amrabat playing again triggered my PTSD.

Nigeria reminded me a lot of watford, last season, so guess Ighalo has taken the watford way to Nigeria

    Show promise
Turn up play one up front, with little or no support
Have several players that think they can run past anybody (but can’t)
Have a few players that go down quite easily (although no one quite as bad as mosses)
A defence that doesn’t really understand why they are defending
A few players capable of massive WTF moments (the penalty tackle was as bad as holebas handball)
A capable midfield that can’t pass back because god know what could happen and can’t pass forward because there is nobody there

Trust a Watford player to be injured (Amrabat)
Are the Watford medical staff on the FIFA books?

Miguel Layun playing OK for Mexico.
Watford legend scoring our first goal in our latest foray into the EPL against our arch enemy Everton.

Come on Mexico (currently beating Germany 1-0)

Layun having a good game for Mexico.

They seem impressive on the break .

Layún's finishing was questionable but he seemed otherwise very solid. Would have him back so we can play a team of exclusively right backs plus Troy Deeney.

    https://www.sportsmole.co.uk/footba...ick-behrami-wants-to-quit-watford_300304.html

Valon Behrami has declared his intention to quit Watford after claiming that he is homesick, and wants to play for a club closer to his family in Switzerland.
The 32-year-old, who has one year left on his Vicarage Road contract, made 27 appearances last season to help the Hornets stay up.
However, the midfielder admitted that he is already in talks with Swiss side Sion and suggested that his next contract may be his last.
Behrami is quoted by The Sun as saying: "I have had discussions with Sion, and there is something serious going on with them. Joining them would be a challenge for me, and I have never yet played in the Swiss Super League.

"I want to play for a club either in or nearer to Switzerland, as I'd like to live in Lugano with my family.

I have told Watford that I want to move, and they will decide what happens. But I will accept whichever decision they take, as I get on very well with them.
"I now hope to have four weeks off. I need this time for the sake of my mind and my body, as this last season hasn't been the easiest. The next contract I sign will probably be my last, so I have to give it serious thought."
Behrami, previously of West Ham United, joined Watford from Hamburg in 2015.

I wouldn't go quite that far, even though he was good for us, but I am definitely enjoying his performance against Neymar.

Behrami had a good game. As for Neymar I really don't get the hype about him, though I freely admit that's a view based on ignorance as I've only ever seen him play tonight and the last wc.

Glad I’m not the only one regarding Neymar. Don’t get me wrong, he’s a really gifted footballer but I haven’t seen him regularly doing the jaw-dropping things that the likes of Messi and Ronaldo do and in the past Maradona, Best, Cryuff, Pele and so on did.

That was absolutely beautiful from Behrami tonight, real heartwarming stuff. Probably best individual display of the tournament so far.

Even picked up a yellow before he went off to solidify it as a proper vintage Behrami display of *********ry.

Except Valon (and I love him) sacked off the amazing looking wife and kids to shack up with a younger, glamorous Swiss ski star.

Valon was quality tonight, reminded me of his first season here but admittedly he lost that yard of pace and kept getting caught out every so often, it was a good time for him to move on.

Wonderful 9 out of 10 performance from Behrami. As they say...better than an army is Valon Bahrain! Neymar is overrated and they were more effective at the end when Ferminio came on. Good weekend for the ex-WFC players other than Iggy but he was starved of service (Moses was shocking).

Valon has found some kind of second wind for this tournament.

Will always be a mini legend from his time with us - fun to see him in action again but he left us at the right time.

After the lengthy debate about what it takes to become "a legend", and who belongs in that class, I'm not sure that we can make the assertion that VB meets the criteria to be classed as a "mini legend" without a full debate. To me, Rod Thomas and Ray Train are the standout mini legends. And Sietes.

I don't recall ever hating Valon Behrami whilst playing for us, which puts him in such an elite group, that surely he's achieved some sort of legendary status?

FIFA meeting in January 2108. Players are not to challenge with their arms up in the penalty area.

Yes I remember the 2107-8 season very well. We finished 3rd in the Inner Solar System League just behind Humanchester United and Mars Extraterrestrials. The opening of the new 97,000 capacity stand behind one goal at our New Vicarage Road Ground next to Junction 20 of the 16 lane M25 Aerial Flyway, bringing the capacity of the ground up to 250,000 was a highlight of the season. To show Watford Hornetospheres FC had not lost the community touch, the stand was named the New New New Rookery and it replaced the 66,000 capacity stand opened in 2072 which in turn replaced the 42,000 capacity stand opened in 2045. We were unbeaten at home that season and won away on 4 planets and 6 moons. Fabulous - and all for a season ticket which only cost me £4,800,000 (or £480 New Pounds).

We had 17 players at the Intergalactic Cup held in the Alpha Centauri System in 2104.

Meanwhile, just up the road, the herculean task to replace most of south Bedfordshire's urban sprawl was completed with the opening of the UK's 27th National Park. Only a token village of 200 named New Leagrave remained in the pristine countryside where once Dunstable and its near neighbours existed.

FIFA were still corrupt until the great cleanup in 2138.

The UK rejoined the World Union after the great Sixth Referendum in 2106 overturning the decision of the Fifth of 2085 which resulted in us, yet again, Brexiting for the third time.
