Zinckernagel for a tired-looking Sema, who can still be on the bench. A couple of contributors have thought that Zinc is too lightweight for Wycombe. Well, Sema's MO is skill and strength to hold off the full-back. Maybe the best gamble is to put a (more skillful?) and faster, better-finishing Zinc up against their defence and get him to run at defenders. Perica (who has not been given a plethora of starts), not Gray. Do I have to plod through why? Again, Gray can be on the bench. Zinc and Sarr could interchange sides of the pitch. Indeed, possibly Sarr could be moved centrally, Femenia could move up the wing and Ngakia could play as right back behind him. Gosling for Chalobah. If Akinfemwa plays he must be patrolled by Sierralta, who will probably be strong enough.
You're probably right about him but from what I've seen Wycombe will just bombard us with long balls into the forwards, I'd still prefer Cathcart with his experience in these types of matches. WTE is a definitely a no for me too with his form and the points you made. It's not going to be one for the purests but as you say we must play our game and we should dominate proceedings and get the result.
It don't matter whether Gray or Perica plays, as its at home against a side in the bottom 3 we should have enough quality on the field to win the game regardless.
We need to find a way of dealing with Akinfenwa or even Ikpeazu. Akinfenwa completely dominated our centre backs in the last game and Ikpeazu could do the same despite their limitations. Having Sierralta should help and I guess it should be Troost-Ekong, but it's already been mentioned that he had absolutely no idea how to deal with Akinfenwa previously. We'll probably struggle to break them down, panic and start hitting it long to Gray and then lose to a late set piece.
He's been playing for the u23s a fair bit so who knows? Deep down, I know he's not the answer but I am still trying to convince myself that he will explode at this level and lead us to promotion. Despite the fact he's obviously a complete wally, I can't help but like him and would love him to finally live up to his name.
Must win game if we still harbour hopes of top 2. 6 pointer. WFC 0 (Deeney missed pen) WWFC something between 0 and 5.
Looking forward to seeing that helmet ainsworth on the sidelines more than the match. Or has the whopper been sacked already? Loved his attitude in the first match.
he looked like he’d just got his first job in a call centre today. Dark blue polyester shirt from the Burtons sale, tucked into similar colour trousers, teamed with dark brown desert boots and matching colour belt.
Yes Wycombe are the worst team in the league and we still couldn't handle Akinfenwa in the last game.
Fortunately he won’t play but they do seem to have another big beast up front who of course on our books once ..
Imo dont think wilmot will play CB for rest of season as we have cover there think he will be used as a back up cmid, CB should be cathcart and serealta ,cathcart bring the ball out of defence and serealta sort out the lump up top same as saturday
Need to win , so need to play the best squad we have, players can rest in the summer. No point starting Gray , he couldn’t score if it was an open goal and the opposition only had 5 players. as an absolute random thought wouldn’t mind seeing Sarr in the middle , Kiko in the Sarr role and ngakia in the Kiko role. more logically let perecía start and see if he is any good. it’s a real shame challobah is banned , I remember the first season in the prem when he (re)joined us and he looked so good charging through the midfield , in the Muff game(and a couple before) he was starting to look like that again. Gozzer is good cover though and after Saturday’s performance has shown he is now a hornet not cheating ****. need as large a win as possible to improve goal difference Watford 3 Wycombe 0
Bachman Jeremy Siri Cathcart lazarr Hughes gosling cleverly Sarr gray zink Elliot Wilmot Massina Kiko WTE sema success perica phillips I know I said earlier not to make to many changes but this should be a good game to rest Kiko and Massina Get at them early and a perfect world establish a good lead and use the 5 subs maybe 3 or 4 around half time or just after. Get some 1st team minutes in success and perica have another last chance with gray. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I can’t help suspecting that, when Perica finally gets to start a game (and it could be this week), we are going to be sorely disappointed in him. But he can’t be as ineffective as Gray, can he?
0-0 frustrating bore draw. Sure as eggs are eggs. Why-komm-bee are only ever going to come looking for a point and I am far from confident we have the striking ability to break down a determined defence. Perica to start. I don't think he's really had a proper chance or a run in the team. This is his chance to shine. He's a different type of forward from little Joey P that's for sure. When is Kabasele due back? I'm looking forward to seeing him and Sierralta together at the back. Age and sloth seems to be catching up with poor old Crapcart and you just can't troost Ekong.
Well, Deeney didn't play against Bournemouth and we lost! Looks to me like we desperately need him back in the side for an unbroken run of games.
No he hasn’t. He’s barely started a game yet - just Bournemouth at home? The point is that some people seem to be expecting him to be a significant improvement on the desperate striking options we have seen so far (JP apart), but like you I haven’t seen it yet. However, I am prepared to reserve judgement.
We should absolutely trounce these bunch of amateurs, anything less than a 4-0 win would be deeply embarrassing and should result in our forfeiting of the remainder of the season. Watford 0-0 Wycombe.
I'd move Sarr central and Zinckernagel on the right, Gosling in for Nate. The rest pick themselves really. Wycombe will play as they always do and go long. It will be a big battle for our centre backs but they just have to win the battle. Unfortunately Jacobson is back for them who has got good delivery from set pieces. So I can see an uncomfortable night for the keeper. It's all setup to be a footballing masterclass. 1-0 to the mighty Orns.
Ah! Is it good? I have read his other two,'Myths' and 'Heroes' and am just about to order 'Troy' as light relief from 'The Golden Bowl' and 'Ulysses'. He's very easy to read Mr Fry I think.
Yeah, follows on nicely from the two you mention. Light, populist mythology with the unmistakable whimsical telling of Fry. Did you ever read Song of Achilles?
No but I've just read a critique and I will order that too. I've just completed my translation of Socrates and Meno by Plato and my conclusion is Socrates don't 'arf go on! I'm getting anxious now for this match.
