We are third in the running order this evening looking up!

  2. Unbelievable Costa can run around like an animal and stay on, the ref needs to be suspended as incompetent

There aren't words strong enough to describe how I feel about Diego Costa, I'd like to see him try that **** against Troy

Mike Dean got proper mugged off by Costa. Let him run rings around him, ignoring his attempts to deal with the situation and then let him force an opponent to be sent off.

Blimey, Shearer's opening statement about us was unexpectedly fair.

Alan Shearer just said the following on MOTD: "Watford were absolutely outstanding from start to finish, better all over the park, Deeney and Ighalo were superb and dominated the back four". I had to rewind it to make sure I was hearing it correctly. Finally it seems that even the most partisan of pundits are beginning to realise.

Didn't Stoke have a player sent off the other week for what Costa did..

When we play Chelsea we definitely can't play Britos, he won't let Costa do that to him without responding. While it would be funny to see Costa get what he deserves because he is such a cheating scumbag, I don't want to be down to 10 men because of it. Maybe Britos can just meet him in the playground after the final whistle.

Yea I noticed that, after all the bollox he came out with about Behrami. What a twunt.

I cant believe Danny Murphy's comments on the Costa incident. According to him Costa deserved no more than a yellow card and 10 men would be getting sent off each game in his day of playing if Costa deserved a sending off. Maybe they should have mentioned to Murphy Afellay's sending off for Stoke against West Brom a couple of weeks agowhere he gave a West Brom player a little slap in the face and got a red card - which was correct according to the letter of the law.

Retrospective red and 3 match ban for violent conduct will be coming his way.

Yes but the Afellay thing just further backs up his point...

His stamp was genuinely filthy as well. Foot over the ball and stamping down on the ankle. Of course they didn't so much as mention it on the summing up on MOTD. May have been something to do with the five minutes they always give the last game in total though!

Blimey, looks like they cut us out of the lineup completely this evening!

Usually get longer highlights on MOTD2 and being the only game and 50 minutes we must get at least 10 minutes followed by 40 concerning how long Mourinho will last.

I take my hat of to fellow Hornets who can bring themselves to watch MOTD after a match & defeat like that. You are clearly stronger that I am.

    Or masochists.

Almost didn't watch as the game was so depressing.

    Glad I did.

Nice historical vignette, fair assessment of our performance including by Aidy, and nice panoramic shots of our developing Vic.

Not too depressing at all, we are still learning in the PL and 9 points isn't too shabby.

Just hope Quique learns to sub earlier to mix it up tactically when we are struggling.

    We deserved a draw.

Wilson's unfortunate injury is a big blow for Bouremouth so hope we can take advantage next week.

Even though we lost I would recommend watching MOTD2 as we received better coverage than we did on Sky Sports. Pundits were on the pitch at the Vic and some good chat by Boothroyd and Jason Roberts on the match. I disagreed with Boothroyd when he said Nyom is ' better going forward - when he defends he is rash and clumsy as he showed when he gave away the penalty'.

Interestingly though Boothroyd picked out Nyom as the one for Palace to target at HT on the radio and it got rubbished by someone on the Shoutbox. Turns out he was right.

Was the coverage on Sky bad then? I was out so recorded the whole game. The defeat + bad coverage will probably mean I'll just delete this recording now....

That was me and I stand by that comment.

Other than a silly challenge for the penalty when Zaha was going nowhere, there was very little threat from their attacks down our right. Nyom handled the vast majority of pressure outside of a ball he somehow missed with an outstretched leg.

Most of the defensive breaches came from the right side; Jurado doesn't support Anya as well and Anya is not a defender by trade. Anya's pace certainly nullified Zaha, but I put that down to Zaha not offering a whole lot outside of pace. If the defender can keep up to him he's pretty easy to handle.

EDIT: saw someone mention in another thread that it might have been intended to neutralise Nyom as an attacker rather than to exploit a weakness. That's something I can see the logic in. First half they were targeting Anya/Jurado though, and the heat maps proved it (once I read them the right way around! :D).

I've been told repeatedly by Palace that "he's just too good for you" :)

Palace fans think they're the greatest team in the world, so that should put their opinion sharply into perspective.

Obviously we are the greatest team in the world. On an idiot would say otherwise.

Compared to their usual fare is was quite short and really Kewell couldn't say too much given he is employed by the club whilst Kevin Phillips was ok.

Didn't help that the much was from their point of view pretty dull given their Pre-match expectations of "goals"

Perfunctory lip service type coverage v Bournemouth in a Manish-stylee.

I was hoping to take a closer look at the supposed lame excuse for a pen and for the pundits to give their opinion.

But there was no time. No little arrows or dotted lines and circles analysis for us. No pixelly super-zoom in on the non-event.

"It was a game of two halves for Murray, wasn't it?" and "Gomes did well, didn't he"......now over at Villa Park, Tim Sherwood was.....
