Fully expecting the "anti-Watford" MOTD bias to be on display tonight when they put our fabulous match on last. Bastards.

Jug Ears must love it - I have just sat through it, but I guess watching the performance again from different angles may give me hope.

We’re on last after that performance you say?

    Thank the Lord.

Didn't watch but presumably we just got an 89th minute mention "Elsewhere Watford were very fortunate to draw 0-0 at home to Brave Sheff Utd" just before the league tables ?

Mainly about Henderson and his saves although really Welbeck and Dawson should have scored .

As for Gray's miss - well they didn't need to say a lot about it !

Let's be honest would you expect them to say anything positive ?!

Thought we might be higher up considering the score line and incidents in the game .

  8. I'll admit I watched it tonight just to see how much they'd brush under the carpet our blatant var decisions.

Second last so not too many highlights, but firstly they actually showed us in a really good light with a lot of chances.

Secondly, they did go in to our decisions and were pretty strong about the penalty, and tongue in cheeked about where the arm stops and the shoulder starts but pretty much said it was handball.

You know if that was a big sixer they'd have analysed it for about 20 minutes though and it would be all over the back of the papers tomorrow.

It's only Watford .No one cares.

They didn't comment at all on our performance though .

I guess they were in a rush as you say and only had time to praise Ali.

MotD edits rarely reflect the balance of play due to their brevity but this one certainly reflected the quality of chances. We really should have won, irrespective of any VAR outrages.

First game of season city played west ham, Sterling was ruled to be offside with his arm pit hair as that’s the line you could scores goal with. They analyzed this no end now today they can’t decide what’s handball

Well MOTD made it look like today could have been 3-5 to Bournemouth.

  13. I gave up using motd as a guide to the accuracy of a Watford game about 2 weeks after our promotion season to the point I barely watch it now unless I literally have nothing else to watch, and even then I contemplate painting a wall just for the sake of it and watching it dry.

I think in the last 4 years we've been accurately represented maybe twice.

Why watch MOTD when all highlights are on YouTube now. Pointless program these days in my opinion and the salaries of the presenters are a waste of the license fee if you stop to think about it and the actual return on the investment.

At gone midnight - they probably won't say anything at the end of the "highlights"

We'll be last, come on guys you know it. 'Still To Come Watford' will be on after the ads for tomorrows games and some sort of American Sport. Yes it was a Friday game before the resident pedants point that out and yes we were bottom so don't really deserve higher but that didn't stop us being for most of last season when we were pottering about in 7th for most the year.

I'll still watch it but It will be really cut. Maybe if they went to the old system of three feature games each week it would be better and everyone would get an equal shot over a season.

Wouldn't tonight be Leicester/Arsenal Spurs/Sheff Utd and Norwich/Watford if that was the case?

But hey ho they sure as hell wont be reading this but....... if you write to the BBC they have to reply, I'm guessing fans of other clubs write in more

On after the one game affected by VAR which they will spend ages taking about !

Even less chances of a comment .

Kind of says something when Spurs drawing at home to a promoted is on so low .

Actually, for those not old enough to remember, in the old days MotD had highlights of just two games - and sometimes they were from the lower divisions - but covered three games on FA Cup weeks.

Exactly Willis. Dont know theyre born these days!
We used to count ourselves lucky if we saw highlights from one or two games a season. Now you have every game streamed live if youre bothered to look.. constant goals highlights on Sky.. extended match highlights on the clubs website.. Youtube.. iPlayer.. the dreaded Match of the Day.. and more.
Yet people still moan because they think we arent covered in-depth enough by the media!

PS We are shown late on Motd and have less coverage than some other clubs because we are one of the smaller outfits (something we pride ourselves on at other times) and a lesser proportion of the general public are interested in us. Seems rather obvious to me.
Personally i'll never get my head around why that upsets some people as much as it does.

I agree, there is so much opportunity to see our teams play live, highlights, the goals, and then watch it all again if we want.

As for Watford last night. It is quite usual for Friday's game to be shown late on MOTD, and in any case our game was **** anyway.

Some people just look for something to moan at, and aren't happy unless they find it.

Of course Watford winning this season is pretty amazing!

Our game deserved to be on last, it was low quality stuff. Important for us to get the win, but we hardly set the world alight. We've had plenty of games on last for no good reason, that wasn't one of them!

  30. I'm sure the BBC went through a phase of showing more highlights at the televised games because there were more sky cameras so better coverage (which assumed they paid to use) rather than maybe one or 2 cameras at the non televised games used just for highlights.

Now there are millions of cameras at all the games they just pick their favourites first.

I still enjoy MotD for highlights more than any other format although do of course watch You Tube stuff too.

Us always being on last is probably just an 'urban myth'. 'Jug ears' has got it in for us but I've never really noticed that any of the others on MotD have. There are a number of genuine reasons why Muff might be more favourably regarded than us. Longest serving (English) manager in the PL, home-grown players, attractive football/diving and a genuine minnow. Us? Yo-yo foreign head-coaches, foreign/mercenary players, football that's hardly currently slick and a 'middling' club. So stands to reason that the Muff will get a more favourable critique really.

Maybe I'm simply a traditionalist. 66 and a half y.o. Not related to Adrian Mole.

Probably struggle to get many highlights out of the game ..

And will they show that Cahil Deeney incident ?
