Until he continued on, I first assumed that he meant that a red was deserved for both Behrami and Ayew.

    Yes so did I

They just commented on the sending off and the goal and how well Deeney and Igalo linked together" but I felt as if they really would have preferred to be talking about anyone but us they really don't like us!

Quite honestly I would never have expected us to be anywhere but near the end of the running order of MOTD yesterday and don't really understand why people are getting their knickers in a twist about it. Most of those able to take off their Watford tinted spectacles for a moment must be able to concede that a 1-0 between two of the "smaller" sides in the Premiership is never going to be a crowd puller.
And a question for those up in arms about any criticism of Behrami's tackle. What would you be writing if a Watford player had been on the receiving end of that?

We're in the premier league, we're on MOTD and have just won our first game of the season. Stop complaining about the order in which the matches are shown.

I can see the point about us being a 'smaller' side but nonetheless it should be that MOTD split their coverage of all the games equally irrespective of their own ideas about the glory clubs in the division.

There was barely any analysis of how we stopped Swansea playing from the pressing of the front three, the rotation between the two forwards and how they were closer together as well as having a higher midfield line that could support when required.

Omitting the Prodl effort and even more so the effort created by Jurado and Anya that Berghuis should have tucked away at the end was rather poor editing instead of which they showed the final whistle.

It is bad enough having Lineker as presenter but to have two utterly gormless goons in Shearer and Wright makes the programme unbearable. That said I mute whatever nonsense they are talking. It is a pity they don't show more of the games rather than having their cosy childish chat.

They probably didn't reach it with our game, but they can only show x amount of minutes highlights contractually, so if it is an hours worth of highlights in a two hour show you'll get an hour of chat. Personally I'd prefer a 65 minute show in that case.

The focal point was our lack of goals, will expect soon they'll focus on our excellent defence. Although if we concede 3 v Newcastle they will question our ability at the back.

Face up to facts Watford fans, we're not interesting to the premier league........ yet.

I did chuckle at the bit of banter between Shearer and Wright about the rather tetchy Palace Man City game when Shearer remarked about Wright's infamous challenge on Schmeichel and Wrighty came back with a quip about Shearer kicking Neil Lennon's head.
As to our game though it was pretty clear they had no interest in putting in any in depth analysis.

I've just watched it now and don't understand what people are complaining about? That was about the same level of footage as a FLS feature game, it showed a few of the decent chances and the commentator alluded to Swansea being reduced to long balls because we had defended so well. I thought the coverage was fair! Although it would've been nice if they got the Ighalo chant at full volume, not at the end. The Swansea manager seems like an arrogant git though.

I think I accidentally stumbled across this when I tried to find the goal to show my Aussie housemate. "Goal straight out of the Championship".

As for motd would have liked to see the chances we missed. But our position in the running order was fair and we were still on earlier than last season ;)

Sarah-Jane Mee is much easier on the eye than Lineker, which is another tick in the box

Also just showed (the only?) two Swansea chances and implied they should have won. Not normally bothered by such things but it almost felt deliberately trolling. God knows what view of the Prem the viewers over there are getting.

One might be forgiven for thinking they have an agenda; but then you would be accused of being a conspiracy theorist nut job.

True, and it's an insult to say the goal was straight out of the Championship. League 1 at best ;D

Thats what I found disappointing about it. The editing and election of highlights they showed was poor. Instead of the chances listed above they went with Capoue's break away that ended in a poor pass being blocked and what little half chances Swansea created.

The analysis i'm not bothered about, though I did find it funny that last time Wright was on MotD the understanding between Deeny & Igloo had to be pointed out to him by his co-presenter yet today it was that partnership he decided to focus on.Atleast he's better than Savage whose only noteworthy ability as a pundit is just to say the obvious loudly or loudly & over the top of callers if he's on 5 live.

Well Gray & Monkey boy have pulled one out of the bag there. There was no way in hell I ever thought I could hold them in less regard than I did, but that commentary has nailed it.

Class ******* who could at least do a job. Now they aren't even able to do the job.

Andy Gray is a dinosaur, proved that when he asked that Sky News girl to look down his pants or whatever - as if she actually would. Clearly hasn't done any research on the Championship either in the last 6 years since we has sacked. Good riddance.

For me still the best highlights show is Goals on Sunday. Kammy and in particular Ben Shephard are always fair and just in their appreciation and criticism, backing up their opinions, even if their reasonings aren't always 100% (not far off usually) factually accurate.

Gray and keys clearly only saw that edited footage and no more. They also clearly have a lowly opinion of us, probably because they think we're a promoted side without grace or quality. That's going to be the view of many. Who cares though.

I'm not usually one for the "conspiracy/agenda" view but that Grey and Keys appraisal is just plain wrong. I've also just flicked back through the rolling feed that was on the BBC website - the actual real-time updates are pretty good, mentioning that Deeney, Abdi, Prodl and Ighalo all went close, with the only mention of Swansea being the Gomis half-shot from the floor. Then, at half-time, a bit of analysis from Chris Sutton:

"Swansea have created the opportunities in this game so far - nothing really from Watford."

    It's just a bit odd.

  25. Siohmy

    Siohmy Reservist

Not odd just complete BS. I don't actually give a toss that it is about us but how on earth are you meant to get an idea of any game when you get arsewipes simply lying about how it is going. I guess Bournemouth (sorry but the easiest one to pick this weekend) dominated Norwich and we're just unlucky? Well of course not from ex-Norwich striker Sutton.

Sutton was giving opinions on more than one game. That speaks volumes as to how much attention he paid to our match.

  27. All Richard Keys is good for is laughing at his hilarious lack of self awareness. His blog & twitter are incredible.

edit: and all the photos him & Gray are in, you can see that Gray has the look of a man who can't escape Keys. Ever.

Please tell me they've dissected this weird MTV cribs style video of him showing off his home in Qatar? The highlight is when he's asked what he would save from his house if there was a fire and he replies "myself". Can't get much more Partridge than that!

The thing is it was a quick google. No weeding out images they were both in the top ten.

no1 Gray is looking a bit Traumatised
No. 2 behind gritted teeth he's saying either "Get this loon away from me" or. "Just once swift twist and I can put this misery behind me"

  35. Every photo of the two of them Gray has the look of a hostage. His mouth is smiling, his eyes are saying "kill me now"
