Watford FC On MOTD/MOTD2 - BBC1/2

Yeah the fact that we let West Brom have an easy 2 v 1 at the corner that led to Berahino's miss.

I look forward to Ruud Gullit trying to act like he knows anything about Watford or indeed gives a **** about us tonight.

Thanks Alan, here was me thinking we'd score the same amount and challenge for the league title. Where would I be with these expert pundits?

 

To be fair, i actually thought they both defended us when they were probed to criticise us. Said it's clear strikers have a good understanding and once it clicks we will score, not that we don't have the quality to score

 

It was a nice piece on us with a rollback of the years and a good correction of the facts by big sis's little brother!

And, no mention of one dimensional long ball, putting English football back 20 years etc - Not bad considering it was the beeb..

 

MOTD pundits do know that Ighalo and Deeney aren't our only two players don't they?

And that Vydra also scored 16 last season.

 

Am I dreaming that we scored two last week? Chelsea failed to find the net against Man City, but there doesn't seem to be the same need for a 'click'.

Pundits and journalists simply aren't interested in us, and never will be. We're there to make up the numbers, and whilst they have to mention us from time to time, the focus of their attentions will always be Arsepool United, as that's what sells. It's very frustrating to have to listen to the same old 'Mourinho slates Wenger' rubbish when something extraordinary is going completely unreported at Vicarage Road, but the truth is most neutrals don't want to read/hear about us, and the media know this.

 

I'm outraged that we're not the number 1 spot each week

I'm confused. Why are we not live on BT Sport and Sky each weekend? Why when I refresh News Now every 30 seconds has a new article (praising) us not appeared? Why is life so harsh? Why are the media so nasty? Why do I care so much about what our media overlords say?

MOTD, Sky etc.. should be grovelling at our feet, we are magnificent!

 

Being a fan from afar, the additional coverage of the team, in all forms of media, is very welcome. You can actually have far more insight in terms of playing style and performances. The red button option on sky sports is great. I am not bothered what Alan Shearer or others think really. Its tokenism at best. I would say that he may not have heard about Ighalo, prior to doing his research yesterday morning. I will see more of Watford this year than I have in the last five combined and form my own views, helped by the real analysts on this forum. I would hope to make it over for a number of times to see them again this season (subject to ticket availability). In conclusion, no real reason to complain, for me.

 

As the Muff love-in on MOTD tonight will be either...

a. Huge

or

b. Enormous

...and considering we're not on it at all, I think I'll give it a miss & go down the pub.

 

I'm not going to watch the first 15 minutes.

 

I think I will forget to switch back on when they have the 'look away now' moment on the News.

Keown and Sinclair on MOTD2:

- Need more composure, try to pick out every run when the difference between a 'good' and 'great' player is making good decisions.
- Good that players are getting into positions, good defensively, nothing to worry about yet but final third play needs work on the training pitch.
- May struggle next week against man city, need to show more going forward when given the chances.

Fair points all round if you ask me.

We are not going to be on earlier unless we are playing one of the big boys. Even if we win. Even if we play well.

 

As said before the general rule of thumb is that the BBC order the matches by number of goals. If there's a big upset or if it's a 6 pointer you might be shifted up a bit. I haven't seen the order but there was a 0-0 so that will probably be last. So penultimate will be us or CP/MC.

 

Lineker - 'First win for Watford, but Alan, that tackle from Bay Rarmi was pretty awful wasn't it?'

Shearer - 'Well Gary, you doon't like to see it, he's way oover the ball, no control over his bodee and could have killed Ayoo.'

Wright - 'Yeah geez, was a massive bad tackle, not what you like to see bruv.'

Lineker - 'All the talk at The Hawthorns was about Saido Berahino......'

 

3-1 norwich bournemouth on 3rd from last just ahead of us. thats a few goals and potentially a six pointer

 

Stupid that the dull Palarse v Citeh game was ahead of ours. Motty sounds doddery and senile too and needs to be sent to a home somewhere.

 

Ah well. The media & the country on the whole are not that interested in us yet inc MOTD. But who cares? We're mid-table in the Prem & deservedly so. IMHO that probably where we'll finish up. Next season though the Pozzos will furnish us with some even better players & that's when the s*** will really hit the fan.

Great things are afoot. Until then under the radar is best.

It's quite amazing how rapidly Alan Shearer is undoing all those years of massive respect he built as a footballing legend. He should be untouchable, but he just talks such nonsense on such a frequent basis.

 

BBCs coverage is nothing to the unloading of both barrels Gray and Keys give us on whatever tinpot show they have in Qatar. Look it up on YouTube, but beware those of a sensitive disposition.
