Remember it well, just as Severus was dividing Mesopotamia. In 198 we didn't even have a divided Mesopotamia along the Tigris and Euphrates to get relegated! Get sum pers peck tif
A win here would be the hardest out of our previous results, but it would be massive. It would give us the belief and momentum to get safe, notwithstanding the huge 3 points. I'd take a point, but a win would be, just beautiful. We would have to probably improve on our man utd performance and be more clinical.
Seems harsh to say - but every game that we start in the bottom 3, then just one point is not something I’m content with, regardless of the opposition or their form. Just one point won’t see us relegated at this point, but missing out on an extra two could be all the difference come May. A solitary point and another game down and likely no more gained on the teams above us. It’s a horrible outlook but I feel it’s the harsh reality. Every home game absolutely should be a must-win while we are where we are. Before the last few games I was very confident of winning this game. But Wolves have rotated a bit over the last few games and we haven’t really - I do worry if this might be one game too far. I really hope we can get another 90 mins from them and then they can all have 10 days off before Bournemouth, while the squad players take on Tranmere. Putting my yellow tinted glasses on and saying we edge it, 2-1.
Never and Capoue are pretty evenly matched tbf. The only one that's a little silly is saying Deeney is better than Jimanez (the **** mask guy).
The thing that I'm focusing on about the 'resting' is that they've had a day's less rest overall, despite the players left out against Poolton (of which Traore and Jimenez did still eventually come on anyway), and that despite his many and varied limitations, Troy is clearly important to the way we are playing at present, and what he said is true; he's playing his way back into fitness, and he's just got another 90 minutes under his belt. For some players it would be a risk, but he very rarely gets injured, and he is old school in many ways, including in that he's incapable of remaining fit outside game scenarios, but he's like one of those watches that charges itself by its own motion when it's going. What I would say about Wolves is that, whilst they are a good and impressive team (very dodgy ownership/influence ******** notwithstanding) they aren't world-beaters and they aren't blowing anyone away. They don't particularly smash away the lower teams more than the big ones, and indeed, we know that their Achilles heel is teams lower down the table who allow them to monopolise possession and sit back. We knew this last time, and the time before; hopefully Pearson will not display any ostrich-like tendencies and tailor his gameplan accordingly. I'd give almost anything for Jimenez, unpleasant Mexican following or not, and one or two others like Coady and Moutinho would be lovely, but in our current/recent state I don't see this game being too different to any other time we've faced them since they were promoted. The teams are not too far away from each other; even the 2-0 in the reverse fixture was down to our pathetic mistakes in a game we were ascendant in for large periods. All this means is that it could go either, or any way, but that there's probably not much need for over-pessimism.
Do we expect to be unchanged except for Mariappa? I presume that would see Kiko revert to RB and Massina come in on the left. Hopefully Kiko's resurgence was a change in attitude/confidence rather than a positional change, because he's been excellent. I, for one, did not see it in him during the first 10-14 games this season, but he's epitomised our improvement with his robust play.
Well, Kiko played as a RB against Palace and he was great then, so I'd like to think it was a change in attitude/confidence (more likely the latter as I don't see him as the uncaring type). But what's remarkable is that he was one of the first to show a resurgence, whereas players that have been below their best for a much shorter time (Capoue, Deulofeu, Doucoure, Pereyra) have been much slower to get to anywhere near what they're really capable of, if at all (if Pereyra allied the same work rate as the others to his undoubted skill, I'd be confident of getting out of this mess pretty quickly). Could it be because Kiko has some experience of this kind of battle, having won tight promotions from the Segunda Division with Hercules and Alaves and the disappointment of relegation with the former, and the kind of game where every point matters and you have to play at a higher level of intensity than when playing for a mid-table or lower top six team?
If we were starting the season now under big Nige I'd be confident of a top 10 finish For that reason I can't see much between the sides 2-2
Ah, who remembers the good old 210 debate of whether Caracalla Gerardiva could go out to battle in the same army as Geta Lampardious.
Excellent preview need to maintain the run, I think if we win we would start seeing some real belief that we could stay up, if we loose we run the risk of slumping back into last which would be a real blow and could be the end of the great escape Hard to predict the score , Wolves are not going to give in easy (look at how they came back against man city) Head prediction we loose 2:3 Heart prediction we win 3:2
A very tough game. Hopefully our extra 24 hour rest will help us play at a higher tempo like we did in the first 20 minutes against Villa. Try and catch them cold and get ahead in the game. Can play to our strengths then and get Deulofeu & Sarr running into space. A draw wouldn't be a disaster, but this is a game that we can definitely win despite Wolves' lofty position and form. A narrow 2-1 victory!
You’d hope all the media attention they've had recently after City and Liverpool that this would be like after the Lord Mayors etc.... think they’re far too professional for that. We’ll have to be at a very high level of performance to get a point, but 8 points from 4 games would be a very good return at this level.
66% of our wins this season have come while down to 10 men. Whose turn to take one for the team and walk this week? And who should they take out while collecting that red?
When I googled them, I saw an image of a house in Tring, burned to a shell after an electrical fire, suspected to have been been caused by the cute and supposedly delicious little sods.
Yes but I never really liked that house. They're in the garage and so probably in the loft. However we have no electric cables in the loft (other than a light bulb) and no water pipes so I doubt they can do too much damage. When we do occasionally get the patter of tiny feet above us at night (might be mice, rats or glisglis) I throw some sonic deterants up there for a few days and they soon disappear.
Try a humane trap ? Actually they're a protected species and only authorised pest control can remove them. Mods - you have a legal obligation here to turn Moog (all of them) in. How do you know you have them ? Seen them ?
