Yes, that's the profligacy of the window that a fair amount have completely expunged from their minds because of Bristol - we are still absolutely in the position that if we get any injuries in midfield we're worryingly understaffed, or, indeed, if one gets banned for two matches for being brainlessly ill-disciplined. This is more of a potential issue now that we are suddenly fielding three in the middle.

Oh actually don't worry.... We've always got 442 to fall back on... Er ooh.. Hmm..

.... Or the new LB was a cunning plan as he can play left midfield.?? (probably just a WB tbh....)
Anyone up for old fashioned 424.???

In a game where it will be down to us to attack I would keep Femenia in for Ngakia. Games where we get attacked, probably Bournemouth being the next one, I might swap them out. Agree with the midfield but can't agree with Gray and fairly sure you add him to provoke a reaction. I would be tempted to stick with Pedro or maybe Perica

Not at all. I said it 'might be' the lineup. If Pedro plays its 3 games in 6 days and risk of a strain/injury. Next 2 games are away next week. Best if he (and the rest of the best XI) plays in them as they will be tougher to win on paper. Friday's game is winnable with a 'reserve front man'. If Pedro is injured on Friday we are scr*wed basically. I wouldn't risk it myself and Xisco 'may' decide to change it up.

I'd rather have Gray than Perica if Pedro is being rested to be honest.

I think if you put it to a vote, it would be a close run thing!

Perica for me, don't forget he had been out injured for a few weeks and only had a short cameo against PNE so he was bound to be rusty. On the other hand Gray is permanently off the pace so why would we play him from the start?

The only look in he might possibly get is as a late cameo from the bench if we are really desperate for a goal and need a Hail Mary, you never know miracles might just happen but I wouldn't hold my breath.

If we win 7-0, we go second. Just throwing that out there.

I'd say Gosling/Wilmot are cover for Hughes, Gosling is cover for Chalobah and Zinc/Gosling are cover for Clevs. We do have 3 midfielders as back up, it's just that Hughes and Clevs r so on the money right now that the idea of losing them is a bit worrying. Having said that Gosling has started well and everyone was raving about Wilmot in central midfield 2 years ago.

I think Perica is worth a few appearances ahead of AG to see if he can perform better of the two.

With JP on 7 goals in 1788 mins neither seem a good alternative. Ideally you would not change the starting XI but I suppose the frequency of the games and any slight injuries to players may have, means some changes are necessary/likely.

When I was JP's age I was playing 2/3 rugby matches a week and training 3 evenings. Let the lad play. Gray is turd.

Agree we need to rest Pedro though the options are clearly a significant weakening. I don't think tonights game is particularly "winnable with a reserve front man" vs any other game, given Derby are on a roll under Rooney and have now won 5 out of the last 6.

As its a home game i reckon it is.
We ended Norwich's unbeaten 5 game run at home when Deeney and Gray played and Pedro and Hughes didn't in a 4-4-2.

What is with all the obsession with resting Pedro? He's 19. What youngsters can famously do is recover quickly. Cleverly is half as old again and plays a high-energy game.

Just looked and we had 35% possession and 1 shot on target which came from Sarr.
So I stand by "despite Trondre"

This would be a huge win against an in form team. I’m confident we have turned a corner now with our new formation.

We are not playing Derby County, we are playing Wayne Rooney's Derby County.

Wycombe should of won the match against Derby. Wycombe had a clear goal ruled out for offside and created loads of chances. They got lucky with an own goal and a smash and grab in injury time.
Just hoping Derby defend the same tonight. They were forever dropping off and letting Wycombe create chances.
To me it's all about us flooding all over them because they will crack under the pressure.
The marking was weak allowing their forwards to drive directly at the backline all Wycombe needed was composure and would of got the points easily. How they've won 5 out 6 is beyond me.

Played 65 mins for the U23s yesterday, we might see him on the bench for either Blackburn on Wednesday or Bournemouth next weekend.
