Oh and I think a few of the team aren’t even playing at their best yet, doucoure the main one (although he was excellent 2nd half today)

It's been the form of our season lets be fair.

In almost all of our games this season we have been tentative, rash and a bit bull headed
in the first half of games. Today we came up against a team who were capable of punishing
us for the lack of effort,

But, to our credit, Foster kept us in the game right on half time and 0-3 would of been a
mountain to climb. Second half, again, we play much better, we came at them and almost got
something out of the game which would not of been unjustified. Great goal from Gray and that
    shows he can do it.

I thought the referee was absolutly abysmal today. Mr. Dean please do not referee any more of
our games this season or ever again.

Lots of positives to take especially in the second half, and we take that into the Fulham game I
am positive we can get something. Worst case senario is the heads drop because we lost, but this
is not the Cobra. Gracia has turned this side into a trying team so I cannot see us going on a losing
    streak now.

Manure were not that good, and the scoreline reflects the game of both halves. Our unbeaten run
was going to end eventually, and I would rather lose a home to those mancs than Cardiff. On to
the Cottage and a rondevoiz with the Joker. Let's hope he doesn't have his side too fired up against
    his former charges.

All in all, despite another horrid first half, it wasn't a terrible result for us, and I hope the boys
can take heart in a spirited fight back which on another day, might of got us something.

i think today's game showed, like in previous games, that we will give opponents chances (especially first half it seems), its whether they take them. Today the opponents did twice.

What I do like is our fitness levels for the 90 mins.

  4. IRB

5 mins of shambles at the end of the first half but a superb performance on the whole

Real shame we couldn't squeeze in the equaliser at the death (by the way, 3 mins of injury time was a complete joke, it would be 6 minutes if the score was reversed!)

At half time I feared we would collapse and then lose our next 3, but we fought back well and showed why we deserve to be in the position we are in. With Chalobah and Gerry to come back into the starting 11 it looks like we are still in for a great season

Tough one but we played well. MU beat us at our own game for the most part, extremely physical, closing down our attackers, winning second balls and aerial duels left and right. It was close and we had our share of chances, on another day we'd have had at least a point. Then again, the goals we conceded were very soft and if we couldn't defend against them then we deserved to be losing. Easy to say in hindsight but Chalobah should've started over Capoue, we needed the pace and skill in midfield to out-maneuver their physicality.

Still proud of our Hornets regardless, every player gave it everything they had. To see Hughes sprinting at their defense like that in added time at the end of the game was mad, they were tireless out there. We'll go again next weekend, bring on Fulham.

Hughes is a class apart. One of his most influencial games I thought in terms of time on the ball.

Manager of the month curse does indeed strike. For once the luck went against us. Still, at least it appears that the international break hasn't disrupted the general quality in our play and hopefully this is just a minor bump in the road.

As pointed alluded to by IRB, haven't all of our previous games had 4-6 minutes of injury time thus far this season? Unsurprising that the first one which is only 3 mins is the one in which we're winning.

    Who are they replacing?....

I think 3 minutes was the right amount of injury time for today's game. The trouble is there is 0 consistency. How there was 5 minutes injury time against Spurs (and then longer in the end) is a joke. Nothing happened, no stops in play, no time wasting other than playing by the corner flag when the ball was in play.

Well fair play to Man Utd. They relied on their long ball, set piece dependence to come up trumps and it did. We scored a lovely goal from open play in the second half and it's about time FIFA and the FA started to allow such goals to count double.

Unfortunately the worst team won. It was a very typical lucky lucky Man Utd performance. Lukaku’s goal just hit him and could have gone anywhere. Their second, I am convinced is offside. Not for Smalling, but for Sanchez interfering with play standing right in front of Foster 2 yards offside. Not saying that foster would have saved it but he would have had a better chance.

Mike Dean done his typical favoriting the top 6. Gave them everything and us very little. 4/5 Fk’s he awarded them when we clearly won the ball first but as soon as a United player hit the deck, he blew his whistle.

We were the much better team in the second half and united can consider themselves lucky they are walking away with all three points, they didn’t even deserve one.

Proud of our boys, the performance deserved a lot more than what we got. As we all know though, that’s football. How none of the chances went in at the end is just baffling. It really was a game of fine margins and unfortunately for us we just didn’t get the rub of the green today.

On a side note, I also watched Fulham today and they were rubbish. We just need to keep our levels and not sink to theirs.

I am proud of that performance. I genuinely tbought that we played the better and more dynamic football. If we play that way against most other teams this season we will do well.

Very happy with the performance but the result is slightly dissapointing and undeserved in my opinion.

On a side note, we are no longer able to achieve an invincible season which means we should in fact remove this useless manager.

Thought we looked good second half, just didn't create anything clear cut but it is a game we didn't expect to win.

Only negative is Hughes, thought he looked very sloppy with some dreadful decision making.

I'm not too upset after that. I'm always sad when we lose of course but against a team that are obviously better than us (by the tune of a few hundred million) we gave a god account of ourselves.

First 30 minutes we were good. Then 15 disastrous minutes. But I'm most impressed by how we just went for it in the second half. Didn't come off but I can't see this defeat knocking our confidence.

I know he's every forum users love child, but frankly he had a poor game. So many times he had a Janmaat overlapping in acres of space and instead cut inside and lost the ball. I don't get the hype around him?

another very decent performance . Yes we had a sloppy spell first half which cost us the game , but we showed all the fight we have been showing in that second half and in the end slightly lucky to lose .

Thought Hughes was fantastic today and really showed his class at times , but again a real team performance

I have to mention Andre Gray though . Thought he was excellent today. He genuinely looks like a different player this season and deserved his goal . We talk about all the hard work he putsin and that’s a given ,but his hold up play has improved immeasurably and whereas last season he struggled to find a yellow shirt Most ofthe time I don’t think he gave the ball away once today .

Ah ok. Well here's the goal:

    https://twitter.com/raymanjr/status/1041012396448534533

Smalling never remotely offside. Even Cleverley said on BT Sport he'd be disappointed if roles were reversed and Sanchez as a Watford player were given offside.

    Doucoure - 91%
    Gray - 89%

Didn’t do ourselves a disservice today. They matched us physically and in the first half we couldn’t get a foothold. Looked like we wanted to see out the first half, much like we did against Tottenham, but in this occasion didn’t manage it. That Lukaku goal looked offside from where I was - maybe even handball as well!
Switched off after that and the second so soon after was a sucker punch. Poor organisation for the corner.

Second half didn’t get off to a flier either but the goal gave us belief and the crowd were fantastic again.

Matic was their best player and if he’d been sent off 10/15 minutes earlier we’d have won that.

Overall still enjoyable and positives to take. Worst bit is that even though I work in Berkhamsted I’m surrounded by Man U fans...
