I remember being in the home end at Molineux on New Year's Day. 1,001 "c'mon Bully". 0-0.
In Dudley,they say "me ducks". It took me a while to translate!
However when Loon had their no away fans policy and David Evans was my benefactor,he gave me two tickets in the 'Main Stand'.
I was accompanied by Chris and we won 2-0 with two Gary Porter goals. Inevitably we went potty after his first and about six men began clambering over the seats to try and reach us. The stewards stopped them but advised us against such behaviour. We did exactly the same again and they got closer this time but we escaped to tell the tale.
Apologies if you have read these tales before.
I do hope 'The Merson Stopped Clock Is Correct Twice A Day' theory doesn't work tomorrow!

Well that sounds pretty damn good doesn't it ? I guess it's easy to have a great atmosphere, will be interesting to see what it's like after a few defeats. Great that Gracia is so involved and demanding though. Hope he signs the new contract allegedly being offered. Who is Jake Humphrey ?

He's a sports presenter for BT Sport. He was one of the many sticking the knife into the club pre-season, but he's changed his tune now clearly.

 

Another easy win tomorrow, yawn. Looking forward to when we play Man City and Liverpool, hopefully they'll provide some sort of challenge.

A Man Utd fan at work started talking to me about tomorrow's game and I yawned his face. He continued talking so I just yawned louder and louder until the building started to shake. My yawning was so loud that people began to panic, alarms were set off and tiles fell from the roof. When I ran out of breathe my colleague simply asked me what I thought the score would be. I punched him in the face and strode away, surveying the damage.

Will be interesting to see if Chalobah gets to start. I have a sneaking suspicion he will score the winner tomorrow.

 

Looks like no Herrera, Rojo or Dalot for Moan Utd. Fellani a doubt. Shaw good to go according to Mourinho.

 

Not a chance he'll start; why would we change things while they've been going so well thus far?

 

I think attitudes and opinions towards us are slowly changing. Even Merson has gone from saying we'll lose 0-3 to only to losing 1-2.

We're being considered a bit of a "flash in the pan" but people are no longer talking about Watford as the cannon-fodder EPL side, as was the case pre-season.

Watford is the smallest settlement ever to record 4 wins out of 4 opening games in the history of the top flight of English football since its inception in 1888.

Caveats

• Based on current (2011) population figures. As per the BBC, the last 'town team' to achieve this was Ipswich in 1975. Checking the historical population data Ipswich in 1975 had a larger population (~115,000) than modern Watford (~90,000).
• Having scanned the league table for every single season before 1975 there are no other 'town teams' to achieve this feat and therefore no threat to this statistic's accuracy.

I went in Arsenal end as my son was a Gooner at the time ( he was 6 so didnt know any better) . Hes turned Golden now though and comes to every home game.

I can find them for EPL but not FL.

Every morning on talksport they do a coral bookie segment and all week Brazil and co (McCoist) have been saying our odds of 3/1 are really bloody generous, most of them hinting they will be having a punt on us.

 

I hope we lose if it means those ****s losing money.

Yep, I've just put £50 on man utd to win too. Tomorrow is going to be a great day, no matter what!

 

I actually didn't.

I scanned every final table to see if a team from a smaller town finished anywhere remotely near the top of the league and the only occasions when they did, I delved deeper to see if they started with a 4 match winning streak. To be honest the only team from a smaller town that has had any success at all is Burnley and they never did it.

 

I've just put £50 on Man Utd to win, and £50 on us to win. Win win win win!!!

Getting quite concerned that all of the optimism on this thread will end up jinxing us.

Usually when we’re at our most optimistic, the wheels fall off in spectacular style, so I’m predicting a Holebas red card after he assaults a ballboy following his 8th corner in a row failing to clear the first man. Gray will miss inexplicably from 3 yards, firing off the post having rounded De Gea. From the rebound, United break downfield and Kabasele slashes a Young cross into his own net.

Various posters make for the Holebas thread to remind everybody that they knew Holebas was crap, while Gracia doubters do the same. Nobody gets to read anything though, because the new owner pulls the plug on the forum.

Despite the best efforts of a few (moog and his 326 accounts), attempts to create a new forum prove futile because nobody knows where to go.
