Cakes are bad for everyone! That doesn't stop most of the population from either baking, watching programmes about baking or eating vast quantities of cake! Much better off with bananas and other nutritious kitchen scraps!
You mentioned it in passing a while ago. Struck me as an interesting option. Seems like the whole forum is only an early pre season tour of SE Asia. We could become the forum of choice for half the world’s population!
Who knows? There will be comings and goings as the "bigger" clubs try to show off their financial muscle. Our best defender Ben Mee is stalling on a new contract amid rumoured interest from a a couple of Big Six teams so he could be off in the summer while our best midfielder Steven Defour wants one last big pay day and is said to be wanted by both Everton and West Ham. He could double his wages at either of those.
Yeah but you can get Andre Gray back for a fraction of what you sold him for so swings and roundabouts ay....
Unsurprisingly canny approach. Reminiscent of the great Sergei Bubka, the pole vault ace. He arranged an incentive for each time he broke the world record so proceeded to break it 35 times by 1 cm.
That all seems fair enough. I know I do get on my soapbox a bit, although this one was in response to an issue about gollies, although it did look as if he was being deliberately provocative.
@lancyclaret Did you ever have any regret when we signed him? Thinking you should of kept him? It’s always been sonething i’ve pondered and being a Burnley fan you must have views on what he was like with you. Yes he creates space and works hard for us but his first touch is as heavy as a goal post. He hasn’t had a look in since Gracia took over and even as a substitute. Makes me think he’s hopefully on his way in the Summer. He clearly isn’t a striker full of confidence but surely that comes with games. He isn’t getting them and perhaps a run with a Championship club maybe on loan (if we get s better one in first) as and when our first team choices come back, would not do him any harm. Thoughts? Or anyone’s for that matter.
This makes it seem a long way for not much. The alternative is an ‘ask no questions’ trip to Whipsnade. The keepers will be buoyed by recent results. Hornet joy.
One of half a dozen fabulous protected wildlife parks. Fabulous place to go if a bit sweaty, leechy, and rainy on occasions.
Gray was "marmite" for Burnley fans ....some liked him but many others never warmed to him despite his goals firing us to the 2015/16 Championship title. His pace is his biggest asset but his first touch is awful for a PL player but he can still be deadly on his day against weak opposition (a hat-trick in a 4-1 win against Sunderland and a double in a 3-2 defeat at Swansea last season). His career was at its zenith after he scored in a 2-0 home win against Liverpool but a few hours later at its nadir after the historical homophobic tweets made him a reviled figure. This must have affected his football (the subsequent 5 game-ban) and his standing with some fellow team-mates. I don't think having a "celebrity" Little Mix girlfriend helped him on the field, either. Some Burnley fans would like him still to be at Turf Moor but most would think that we received an "over the odds" transfer fee. The money we have spent on Chris Wood looks to be much better value. I did read somewhere that Cardiff want to sign Gray if they get promoted....he is pretty good from the penalty spot.
The myth of Gray’s fast I’ve continues. Always looks average to me. Let’s hope Cardiff come up and want him then
I think it's the hyphenated should've or could've that makes it sound like of, instead of have. I can't however believe the amount of people that make this mistake.
Quite looking forward to this today. Really tough week at work so nice to escape from it all and have a few beers and footy. 2-2 I reckon.
Or it could just be down to laziness - just as it is easier to write 've than it is to write have, it is easier to write of than it is to write 've. Or apostrophised?
"Remember Burnley fans on the rampage in the hospital car park in the nineties. Remember the pitch invasion that spoilt GT's farewell. Remember the way Dyche celebrated after all the goodwill we showed him in the 3-3 game on his first return. Remember the way Dyche snarled after Hendrick was sent off last year trying to get the ref to give something in return all game. Remember Dyche saying Zeegalar's red was deserved despite it being similar to Hendricks. Remember it all then go out and destroy them" This should be the team talk. "Sit tight and hoof it to tubby man" This will be the team talk.....
It's not worth trying to wind up a player on the bench. Mind you Mad Jose would probably still manage to get himself in trouble....
