I'd love to see Big Mig Britos against Newcastle. John Jo Shelvey cynically "did" Britos with a late "tackle" breaking his foot at St James Park two seasons ago. You could argue this effectively halted Brito's WFC career as he was out ages and was never a regular starter after that.
I would be nervous as anything if Britos plays. Not match fit I would be surprised if he managed to stay on pitch - has yellow cards written all over him without match fitness

In the fear that Newcastle might try Cardiff's approach, but with a slightly better team, this could turn out to be a very boring and frustrating game. Cardiff, you may be forgiven for forgetting, fielded ten men deep in their half and bashed the ball into our half without chasing after it. Worse, they persisted with this tactic even when they were one down. They did make a game of it when two down. The game was enlivened, of course, by Watford's three marvellous goals. I fear the same approach by United and the answer is more scintillating goals. Arrange it so Roberto and Del are taking them on in or around penalty area at every opportunity and have midfielders, including Quina, prepared to smack it in from the perimeter. And don't underestimate Rondon, who has splashed out on better shooting-boots than any of our forwards. (So if Britos is out there, double-up on him). He is a solid unit, too, so don't think you're going to knock him off the ball - Kabasele made that mistake when we last played at WBA.
Imagine if Penaranda is even nearly as good as he's hyped to be. The prospect of him playing with Pereyra and Deulofeu is pretty mouth watering.
Six changes! Mariappa, Masina, Janmaat, Hughes, Success and Quina in... Kabasele, Holebas, Femenia, Sema, Doucoure and Deeney out... Chalobah still not on the bench so you’d imagine he’s injured again.
Solomon Rondon was stalking me in my dreams last night. He was wearing a hannibal lector mask but helpfully wore a mcdonalds syle id tag for identification purposes. 2 gold stars in case you were wondering. Got a feeling we'll need to score to draw today.
Hmmm... I think we've levelled the game there. Few too many changes. Newcastle on paper probably as good as us today. Janmaat and Hughes to limp off first half.
I expect a disjointed performance after that many changes. Understandable, given the fixture pile-up. Also should be remembered that most of those have had a good run in the side already this season so there’s nobody who’s individually a risk. I just hope the returning players are sufficiently fit.
Those changes were needed. Good to see Hughes back 3-0 as there playing for their place at Woking Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Javi has got it right in every game this season. We would be in the CL places if it wasn’t for an astronomical (slight exaggeration) amount of poor decisions going against us and our strikers could actually finish. Newcastle would have prepared for a completely different team, so this will benefit us as well. I don’t think our performance will be disjointed, I’m sure Javi spoke to them after the Chelsea game and trained with this team in mind. We also have a solid bench, a fresh Deeney against a tired defence for the last 20mins is not what they would want to face. You know Deeney is going to get at you, wrestle you and make you work hard. Sema has done alright in previous games, coming off the bench with his pace will also benefit us. He is beginning to adapt to the speed of the Prem. Yes he is very one footed, but he works hard, contributes defensively and does have the ability to get at players. I think Javi has got it right again today and we will win, unless the ref costs us, again. Going for 3-1 Watford, Success, Deulofeu and Janmaat to score.
He's sort of replaced muscle with flair. It does make sense. Lets be honest though, anyone who has supported Watford for a few years must be half-expecting a 0-1 today!
Normally this ref throws cards out like he’s dealing in a casino. On that note you’d expect the dirty geordies to be down to 9 men now but they are getting away with it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
At game. Rubbish, had a few pot shots and Rondons goal was good, we could be two down, Success had a tame shot saved just now. Chelsea hangover still in effect. Massive team talk by the goblin needed.
Awful first half. If Javi doesn’t make changes early in the second half, we won’t get anything from this. Hughes needs replacing with Clev, Success with Deeney & Quina with Doucoure.
It's a pretty damning indictment of the squad players that Javi had to bin three of them and bring the regulars back in salvage a point from that match. Luckily it worked but the overall performance wasn't at the right level. I think we'd have a lost it last season though.
