I think that it was a conversation about trequartistas and registas that made me go from a long time lurker on this website to a contributor as I couldn't help myself from poking fun at the football hipsters. Before that I'd only made one post about when I saw Paul Devlin in B&Q Bushey Arches trying to choose a toilet seat lid.
Amazing people are still defending Deeney and Gray on the WO site. Anyone daring to criticize their performances is either not a Watford fan or a fan of Luton. Both must be given the support they need apparently and it will all come good. The mind boggles.
It goes to show you, that outside of this forum, where the likes of you, me, @NathWFC @GoingDown @Jumbolina and @Burnsy are keeping things real, the WFC supporting public are morons living in a fantasy world, divorced from reality. Lots of people out there still think Munoz isn't an absolute joke of an appointment.
Make your way over to the Andre Gray thread in Team Bud section and do some reading since Saturday. The mind boggles.
Good preview @Steve Leo Beleck but I just need to call you out on this. ****ie Bird is still very much alive, unless I have missed something...
So he is! I was sure he shuffled off to the big pavilion in the sky a few years back but I'm wrong. 87 not out!
Pedro Perica Sarr Hughes Cleverley Zinc or Pedro Sarr Sema Hughes Cleverley Zinc Watford 9- 0 Barnsley (if Deeney and Gray don't play) Watford 0-9 Barnsley (if Deeney and Gray do play) Do the club pay fans to stick up for Deeney and Gray? Bit like the Government paying 'influencers' to promote track and trace.
Another we have to win in order to make ground up on those above us. With the next game being Friday, that'll be 3 games in a week. This must be in Munoz's thinking and there could be some rotation going on. Hoping to see Hughes drafted back in, but apart from that, the team probably picks itself. Bachmann to keep his place as Foster will need a couple of weeks off I suspect. I hear Perica could be back for this one, so may see him on the bench. Should be another game similar to all the others we've seen this season. Another team, carbon-copy of the other 23 sides in this league, just the shirt colour changes. I expect a similar game to Huddersfield. Low on chances but we should manage to score 1 or 2 and see the game out.
Enjoyed that preview. Interesting looking back at those highlights, those were the days when Deeney could actually move. I miss Tozser, not sure we've ever had a decent set piece taker since he left. We really need a win tomorrow, get some consistency & we'll have a very good chance of making the automatics. Zingernackel in for Sema which would be my only change. Wouldn't be dissapointed if we started Hughes in the middle either.
I can only think Hughes and Zinck weren't starting at the weekend because they were being rested, on paper this is a much tougher game than the walking wounded of Huddersfield
I heard that. I've lost interest in football during lockdown so only ever watch our games but I heard this dreadful. It's not just the lack of fans but it does seem to make a real difference
Another game hyped up by Sky that disappoints. They never learn . Mimd you still better than anything we produce !
Bachmann Femenia, The bloke from Chile, Wilmot, Masina Hughes Chalobah Sarr Zinc Sema Pedro 4-2-3-1 Gray dropped from squad. Sarr, Zinc and Sema to have free range to swap positions. Play it on the floor at pace and we win this
So have I but I watched this one as it felt an important game in the title race. I soon regretted my decision!
You’d think Barnsley fans would be happy with their current form .. But seems not . http://barnsleyfc.org.uk/threads/honest-opinion.299934/ Too much “hoofball” And we get a mention in the last page .
These sort of games are often underwhelming and as wfc mentioned it's not helped by $ky banging on about it. This time they had a countdown clock or something inane. Fernandes getting huffy was amusing however!
Well we are a team improving slowly with work to do in certain areas. Our game management has greatly improved, so at least we go into most games "with every chance" now.? Manager is trying to bed in more players and personally I think he's been told to utilise senior players if they're fit, or until a breakthrough player clicks. Unfortunately Perica has had little chance with injuries etc, so it will be weeks before we see Deeney dropped and even then Perica will need to have some good games with goals. Pedro lacks a real partner, firstly he plays too deep and so does Deeney but there's no reason why they can't form a partnership in this division.? All we need at this moment is a few more players "clicking" attacking wise and we will do well. That point has to come about now if we want to go up. Tough game tomorrow... Can't see us losing but can't forecast it.....
Is this one red button? If not think I'll just miss it rather than another tenner. Enjoyed the preview though
This game seems so low key, not even on sky red button, I think we should just forget it and reconvene on Friday. We can all just check what the score was then. Laters.
Considering there is a school of thought that suggests JP could not play upfront on his own/without Deeney, because he 'can't hold his own' or 'isn't physical enough' or 'can't hold the ball up', it's probably worth noting that alongside all the other improved comparative stats (and the fact that he is actually six foot tall), he literally won double the amount of aerial duels that Deeney did on Saturday:
Foster confirmed to be out for the next few weeks so Bachmanb will get a run of games now. Foster advised by surgeon to rest his injury after playing 6 games with broken finger.
