Yep. They just revised it up again. It's the usual SW prevailing but once it gets into the stadium it gusts all over the place. There was one match last season (Newcastle? Palarse cup-tie?) where there was also a big south-westerly but it seemed to be gusting towards the Rookery.

Yep. They keep messing with their 16.00 prediction. So what we have is a biggish wind now which may or may not have ameliorated by k.o./half time/full time and once it gets into the stadium can do anything it damn well likes.

If the forecast at k.o. remains for a drop in wind speed during the match then it would be a good idea, if we win the toss, to play with the wind at our backs during the first half irrespective of the towards the Rookery second half default. Welbeck said on SSN that he hadn't had a preseason, so unlikely we'll see him until about the 4th or 5th game as a sub. He'll play in some U23 games to get his match fitness up. The fact he passed the medical is good news, so the club will be confident his ankle has healed.

Sarr only reported back to Rennes on Monday, so I'm hoping he'll play some part at Everton - but that's just me hoping.

 

Could easily be wrong on that one. A concession to Joe public?

Quite apart from the weather, this is a match where nobody knows what's going to happen. Does anybody know how Brighton are going to play? (Except it won't be like Chris Hughton's approach). We're not at all sure how our own team are going to look. I think that makes it extra-interesting, although the wind may spoil it.
