I hope we win. But a bit worried about their manager's abilities. I hear Potter is a bit of a magician.
3-0. Shown with intent of what is possible now. Gray going to impress a lot of the long term doubters this season. Welbeck scores 12 this year. Deeney 10. Sarr worth 85m by the end of the season. Defence doing ok Foster doing absolute heroics again Welcome everyone to the new 19/20 season upon us.
Actually, I wouldn’t be surprised if Gino didn’t have some 17yo Belgium kid called Voldemort on the books.
According to BBC Weather website, looks like wind easing off considerably by 3pm. So lets keep fingers crossed.
No, still saying gusts over 40mph until 5pm when it is still over 20mph. Weather warning in place all afternoon. https://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/2634677
Yep. They just revised it up again. It's the usual SW prevailing but once it gets into the stadium it gusts all over the place. There was one match last season (Newcastle? Palarse cup-tie?) where there was also a big south-westerly but it seemed to be gusting towards the Rookery.
You're correct, but that is what they where predicting when I posted. For WD18 they are now saying 3pm 40 knots (or is it mph ?) 4pm 20.
There is an official utube clip of him training- looks pretty fit to me. Hopefully not long until they get the newbies up to speed having missed preseason and into the matchday squad.
First game of the season is always weird with hardly any new signings starting. Impossible to predict because will have Hughes and Sema as wingers.
Yep. They keep messing with their 16.00 prediction. So what we have is a biggish wind now which may or may not have ameliorated by k.o./half time/full time and once it gets into the stadium can do anything it damn well likes. If the forecast at k.o. remains for a drop in wind speed during the match then it would be a good idea, if we win the toss, to play with the wind at our backs during the first half irrespective of the towards the Rookery second half default. If that has any meaning when it's swirling about all over the place. I hope someone's out on the pitch right now monitoring it and going to keep Javi and Troy informed. Detail/Klopp/ballboys/Champions' League final. *Knots I think. A meteorological standard. Mph x 1.15.
**** weather, Big Ken on the wing, Brighton new manager bounce and a fluid 3-4-3 against 4-4-2. Not feel super confident and genuinely can see Brighton stealing it in an otherwise crap game. Which is why we'll win 2-0.
Today is always one of the most eagerly anticipated days of the season our four first day fixtures in this run of P.L. Are Everton A 2-2 Southampton A 1-1 Liverpool H 3-3 Brighton H 2-0 Let keep the run going, the weather may make the game a lottery but a games a game COYH
Welbeck said on SSN that he hadn't had a preseason, so unlikely we'll see him until about the 4th or 5th game as a sub. He'll play in some U23 games to get his match fitness up. The fact he passed the medical is good news, so the club will be confident his ankle has healed. Sarr only reported back to Rennes on Monday, so I'm hoping he'll play some part at Everton - but that's just me hoping.
Never mind the meteorologists, you just know it will blast in Watford's faces for the first half and ease off at half time.
Quite apart from the weather, this is a match where nobody knows what's going to happen. Does anybody know how Brighton are going to play? (Except it won't be like Chris Hughton's approach). We're not at all sure how our own team are going to look. I think that makes it extra-interesting, although the wind may spoil it.
