Why? So Holebas can hit the front man being a Sheff Utd player and they breakaway on the counter, scoring in the 93rd minute! How dare you want us to lose sir.
We can only hope Holebas realises the danger in that scenario and goes for the other part of his repertoire - whack it over everyone for a throw. Or let Pereyra take it and bend it out of play. Crisis averted.
Where is RookeryDad ? No postings since August. Not seen on the site since 9th Sept. Threads have become much... ....shorter.
I can't help thinking back to the Brighton game. A win on that day and our season might have taken a totally different turn. For a start we would not be bottom and a win on Saturday would move us up to about 12th place - which is not great but not exactly crisis or slit your wrists territory either.
The thing is I'm semi relaxed about our points total so far. It's a bit early to be worrying about that yet, in the same way that I wasn't creaming myself over our good start last season. It's the way we are playing, the attitude of the players that's important and that's the worry because at the moment it sucks balls.
Don't underestimate the impact on confidence and morale of these first few games. Good starts over the last 4 seasons have fed confidence and momentum and kept us safe. It's very difficult to turn round a losing mentality when you see yourself at the bottom of the table, particularly now when the players see that even if they won their next game they would still be bottom with Spurs away to follow next game. It will take a lot to turn this around.
I think we underestimated Brighton who came out of the blocks flying this season. Maybe we were too complacent. Even in their second match vs West Ham they should really have won. They've now fallen back to where you'd expect, but just feels like they caught our players still napping on the beach.
Not sure if Foster has a Billy Sharpe shirt. He can get it at 5pm Saturday and hang it pride and place next to his Augreooo one.
We now have two lovely lovely top blokes as keepers. I believe we have promised to bring Fossie back to play in goal if we ever make a cup final between 2025-35 (Gomes is booked 2020-2025).
I thought Brighton were sh1t until Doucs scored for them. Then they grew in confidence and exploited our terrible positioning. We gifted them the game and Doucs also set up west ham for their first 3 points with another disastrous play. We basically committed suicide at the start of the season.
I see QSF is quoted on the club website as saying that all the matches coming up are going to be a series of 'cup finals' ... that's reassuring then ...
Mine's always at the ready to help get us through any adversity. Gave it a good wave as we flushed the ex-goldfish away last week. A few tears but I think it helped everybody feel a little more positive, like we were waving him off to join a new club for the next season.
RookeryDad always seemed to be off on holiday, so my guess is he’s either emigrated to somewhere remote without usable wi-fi or he’s mouldering away in some Turkish prison. (Other prisons are available.)
Seemed to be involved in drinks brands, Saudi or some other dry middle eastern prison would be my bet. No Wifi and little chance of release or effective embassy intervention. Sad, seemed like a nice fella. Good time to be estranged from the Hornets though, excellent timing.
Think we need to get a rescue party together. Sounds like we need to get Scully on board. Would he re-sign ? I do have a bit of a morbid fascination when a regular daily poster just suddenly stops posting, never to be heard of again. Sometimes you can trace back to a forum fight the day before but when it's unannounced and out of the blue and poster seemed on good form, I do wonder why. Death? Seriously ill ? Stroke ? There's no way of knowing of course. One of life's great mysteries, what happened to Nnnn? The first line of any forum member's will should be their forum login and an instruction to their partner to login and update the forum. A new thread is probably best.
When do we play Man U? Ashley Young will score a free kick to help get his beloved old club top of the table.
