To be honest, I'm ambivalent about a football match even taking place on Saturday. If the birds are singing, the air is clear and the the sounds of happy children resonate through the autumn air I'll be happy. I'm actually ambivalent about there even being a saturday. If everyday was Tuesday that would be fine too. Maybe even just tue would be ok
Yes. This. Win or lose, Football is just a game. Just breathing in the lovely fresh chiltern air and looking into the loving eyes of my beautiful wife, is all I need.
We dodged a bullet with that Rose (by any other name) fella we were trying to sign as a full back. Imagine conceding 7, yes that’s seven, goals at home? How can any team be so s£yte to let in seven? How embarrassing. Glad I don’t support a team like that. And we could have paid a kings ransom to realise a dream and think it was heaven to sign the full back who played for England but was in the team that conceded seven. I think I’ll take up poetry, I’m getting tired of football.
A change is gonna come. I can feel it in the (Chiltern) air (or ale) or rain. I can see it in the eyes of that other man's wife (this is not my beautiful wife). I can see it in the way the tea leaves fall and Tottenham collapse. We will beat Sheff Utd and we will win at Tottenham ... and we will ask ourselves, 'How did I get here?'
Not going to happen but kaba for Dawson and Quina for Doucs would be my changes. They’re young goalkeeper has been in the headlines for all the wrong reasons this week, we have to start fast and get the first goal. If we do I think we might have a comfortable 3-0 win. Deulofeu getting off the mark as it’s a mediocre team like this he would normally shine against. However the mess we’re in and low in confidence has me extremely worried. Sheffield are the extreme opposite going to the Vic with nothing to lose, and most probably go home with all 3 points and the young goalkeeper picking up the motm award. Ideally we'd shoot at Henderson as much as possible to test him. Unfortunately with our attackers we may have lots of shots but the only danger will be to the crowd.
I don't care if it is the worst game I have ever been to. I want 3 points nothing less and nothing more.
Careful you're so sharp you'll cut yourself. Did I ever say I am not a great fan of lawyers? Anyway - more than "just" 3 points could be 3 points and a 12-0 scoreline to restore our goal difference - worth an extra point perhaps. I rest my case Mr Prosecutor.
Well they ain’t a top 6 side and they ain’t an established premier league power house like ourselves, so mediocre is about right I’d say. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Mine was too - honestly No way I would have given such a response to your bit of humour except for fun. Sorry you do not yet know me enough to tell.
OK, it was the "not a great fan" bit that had led me to a different conclusion. Happy to be corrected. Fully in agreement with the sentiment of your original post re Saturday. A 93rd minute scuff off Holebas' backside would suffice.
Sorry again, I tend to use that idle phrase when I mean the opposite. How could you know?I knew you were a lawyer from other posts and find your expertise brilliant. I think Lawyers are essential. My daughter is one.
My Palace supporting mate said they're a horrible, 'bournemouth-esque' team, niggly and always at the ref. I think that could actually work in our favour, the crowd seem to get more agitated by teams like that than anything else and we do seem to play a lot better when the crowd gets up.
Wouldn't pay attention to what Palace fans think. Their team is named after a long-since demolished relic. If ever there were a Brexit team-it'd be Palace. The Holloway/ loans (lones) thing makes much more sense now.
Sheff Utd are everything we are not. A squad of limited players, who play with a purpose and a game-plan they are able to execute consistently. They’ll batter us. I’m certain of it.
