The first game of Nigel Pearson’s 2nd spell as Leicester manager was at home to Palace. We won 3-0 thanks to two stunning goals by the mercurial Paul Gallagher and one from dogshit Jermaine Beckford, setting us on our way to some happy times under big Nige. 3-0 Watford with two absolutely outrageous goals by Deulofeu and a tap in for Gray.
Pearson out Pearson in Mullins out Mullins in **** VAR **** the referee Another handball goal Another soft penalty Holebas injured Holebas booked Prodl injured Welbeck injured Janmaat injured FFS Gray we're staying up we're definitely down must win game doesn't matter game Deeney didn't do much today 9 wins needed I love Christmas Bah humbug Championship Lawrenson thinks we'll lose Merson thinks we'll lose Last on MotD
It seems ludicrous to be talking about "must win" games this early in the season, but this feels like a "mustn't" lose, though I suspect most, including me, would be happy with a close, 2 goal defeat with some spirit shown, which would be great 4 the ladsz.
I actually think, despite their somewhat flattering position of 7th, there are few better teams than Palace against which to end our home duck and get out of this mess. Palace have just been inconsistent as us over the last few seasons (though their season usually follows a reverse pattern to ours), Zaha being the only difference between the two. We ended their hoodoo over us last season, and with them having already got more than half the points needed for survival, they won't be quite as motivated as other teams lower down the table. That said, I have no idea how this will pan out with one of their ex-players in charge of us, it could be anything from a scrappy 1-0 win to a 0-3 defeat. They don't let in many but they score less, so it seems it'll be a case of whoever scores first wins. A draw wouldn't be a disaster but would make it quite difficult, a defeat and a poor performance and the best we can hope for is beating either of our none too impressive points tallies from 1999/00 and 2006/07.
I'm struggling to find the will to come down for this one and that saddens me. Burnley was bad enough. I mean, I guess Palace at least play a little more entertaining football than Dycheball United so I could come just to watch them score a couple of goals I suppose.
Hopefully the boys will be raring to go, raging against the cruel injustice of club legend Laurence Bassini falling victim to a VICIOUS breach of privacy on Twitter. Do it for the helmet, lads! And that red hat!
I'm thinking of choosing to miss a game for the first time in, well, ever. Obviously I've missed because of holidays and such, but this time I'm thinking of doing chores and making soup instead... I only have a 20 minute drive though. Maybe we can persuade each other? Some sort of idiotic optimistic happy clappery?
He's one of our own. He's one of our oooown. That micropeen-packing, t-girl-******* bloke with reams of paper and proof of fuuuuunds, he's one of our own!
Remember when Beckford was being touted as the new Rooney? How times change. Anyway as for the game, it could well be Mullin's final game for us and I hope what little improvment there was at Leicester can be carried over. I think it would be great for Pearson (or whoever) to come into the Anfield game where we are going to get ****ed off the back of a win. Having 11 points will equal us with Derby's stunning points haul, so we only need one point more to avoid another unwanted record. Teams? Probably the same lot who played at Leicester minus Delafoo who was pants. Id start Success with Deeney and see how it goes. Don't start Chaolobah and stick Quina on start of SH score depending. Watford Softies 1 Palarce Pansies 0
We’re going to smash them. If we don’t the players will be getting bat shoved up their nightdress on Monday by Sir Pearson.
New manager bounce - we are going to get the new manager bounce! Hey ho hey ho we're going to get trounced.
Palace have several players out tomorrow. Could be a big chance to get three points. Start on the front foot and get at them.
We could do with a Pearson in defence and Mullins in midfield let alone in the stands ! They'd at least put their foot in..
Ffs we gotta get 3 points. If we don’t get 3 points the last thing we need is going into games at Anfield and against manure on the back of a defeat and **** performance. Hopefully Doucoure turns up Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I think there will be an improved performance with Nige looking on. His reputation as a nutter proceeds him, he probably already slapped pereyra in face with a Christmas ham and made delia train on the roof I didn't see the Leicester game, so for us go improve in my eyes we just need fo be better than we were against Southampton, which should impossible not to achieve. We won't win of course
I have turned down a mixed match v Broxbourne to suffer with everyone. I do not think I can summon the energy to tease Mr Tumble but I shall wear an owl costume for Roy.
I can’t believe I have read some comments online saying they don’t want Pearson because he is a bully. That is EXACTLY what this team needs.
I'd honestly play Mariappa at full back. Put him on Zaha for the game and just let Sarr do his thing ahead of him. Surely we cannot put Kiko against him, the bloke is so woefully short on confidence and form.
Put Captain Panic on Zaha: Watford 0- 5 Palace - Zaha hat trick. Put Kiko on Zaha: Watford 0-7 Palace - Zaha double hat trick. Forfeit game: Watford 0-3 Palace I say we forfeit.
